  1. Thanks for the heads-up. I have property listed there too and can't tell you the scams that go on on that site. It's totally crazy at what people will do to scam you out of money.
  2. Real estate professionals are predicting a better turn for the real estate industry this year. And, many people are still trying to get in on the tax credits. So, if you've been thinking about selling your home, now may be a good time. If you need home improvements, especially curb appeal, give concrete staining and engraving some thought. It gives extra value to any home and it's cost effective. Tax season is coming; use your return wisely.
  3. Thanks for the good ideas. Will definitely have to try this one. Thanks

Still have the board game too. Thanks for the reminder. These sound fun too, will give them a try. Thanks Never thought of that. Will have to give it a try. Thanks
  9. With all this talk about heavy snow, light snow, and possible power outages, I'm worried we may lose power and be stuck with absolutely nothing to do. Anyone have any ideas for games? Our board games are limited since we got the Wii. Besides Rummy and Poker that's about all my kids know. In need of family game ideas. Thanks in advance.
  10. I couldn't agree more. And, it will be a first for us. Too weird huh?
  11. This is the first time I have ever heard of National Ham & Bean Day, but apparently some really celebrate it. So, I thought I would share a recipe that my wife got from her friend in the Active Rain community. It sounds good, and we may actually try it today. 1 pound dried navy beans 2 medium onions, chopped 2 teaspoons vegetable oil 2 celery ribs, chopped 10 cups water 4 cups cube fully cooked ham 1 cup mashed potatoes (without added milk and butter) 1/2 cup shredded carrots 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspo
  12. Most trees are beautiful and provide great benefits, but in this case, the only thing I can recommend is staining and sealing your concrete a neutral tone to match the tannin oak leaves. However, you will still have minimal maintenance when the leaves fall. Or, get rid of your tree. Depends on how much you like your tree. Are you attached to the tree, or does it provide benefits to your property?

  15. My mother taught me to be consistent at an early age and it has paid off with both my boys. But, they are still moody when I'm not around, or so they wife says.
  16. They really are worth the stink. The taste is awesome if you cook them right.
  17. It's just another way for your doc to make extra money. Not all are like that. Find a new doctor, there are still several out there who are not willing to put your health in jepordy just for extra money. Dr. Langford in Hiram is highly recommended and so is Dr. Boddy in Douglasville. Both are family doctors.
  18. Toyota's last forever. I know they're foreign but they last forever. I still have my "84" Ford though and can't seem to let it go. It doesn't run, but I still have it. lol.
  19. Have a safe trip and a great time. You deserve it
  20. Dalton Carpets usually has a better deal than Home Depot, but you have to call around to the different location to see what specials they are running. The further up north, the better the prices get. And, they don't charge extra for the travel. I've been able to do 3 rooms with carpet, padding, and removal of old carpet for less than $600.
  21. Recently, I had someone ask me what to look for when hiring a concrete contractor when I was giving her a bid on a concrete patio she is interested in having installed. So I gave her some helpful advice I'd like to share with others too. When you're in need of any type of concrete services, there are several things you should consider when choosing a concrete contractor. General Guidelines for Choosing a Concrete Professional: * Are they insured? * Are they licensed? * Can they provide references? * Are their rates comparable to other contractors? * How long
