  1. I'm so sorry. :(

She was the Para Pro in my youngest son's kindergarten classroom at Poole... and he absolutely adored her. I was fortunate enough to see her smiling face when I'd pick my boys up from ASP. She was a very special lady and I know she will be missed deeply by many.

  2. Thank you for pointing out the witnesses to me.

I want people to see firsthand what drunk driving causes. Call a cab, make arrangement with friends, or stay where you are. This women will have to live with what she did for the rest of her life. It was not worth it.

What's worse, is that the innocent people on the bike will have to live with this for the rest of their lives... and they didn't do anything wrong. I have no sympathy for the drunk who hit them and left the scene. I hope this haunts her for the rest of her life and that she passes this hard lesson on to the ones she loves.

    How long is this sale?

  4. SLOW THE HECK DOWN BEFORE YOU KILL SOMEONE!

THE BUS WAS STOPPED! YOU DIDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO SLOW DOWN! It was obvious that I was on one side of the road and the bus was on the other... so I had to cross the road (your supposed to stop whether or not someone is crossing anyways, dumba**)! At least someone was paying attention (me)... otherwise someone would be scraping me off the road right now.

    ------------------------------

This driver was going so fast that I couldn't get the plate # or anything identifiable to report. It appeared to be a woman and the plate may have started with A15... and it was a sporty looking black car... that's all I've got. Anyhow, if you think you know this person, who was driving towards 101 on Holly Springs Rd around 2:35... please tell them about the rules of the road and common sense.

  5. Trees must be down in town somewhere as well because Herschel Jones doesn't have power at the moment.

Got a call from my boss a little while ago, telling me to stay home for now... no power at the office in downtown Dallas.

Hubby has no power at his shop on Industrial Blvd N and says traffic from 381 is being re-routed through there... tree down on 381 or something.

  6. Are you doing it for her, or for you? Ask yourself why, and consider your answer carefully.

Not to be critical. But kids have enough pressure once they are all grown up. Focusing on outer appearance doesn't help with their self-esteem, IMO. Beauty isn't something anyone can take a picture of.

You asked, so I'm answering. If it's fun for her, then enjoy it with her. But go into it understanding that there are parents who wrap up their whole worth in others recognizing the "rare beauty" in their "outstanding" child. I wouldn't want my four year-old to think that her outer aspects had any bearing on who she is, how beautiful she is, and what she's worth.

Pageants rank kids. Kids shouldn't be ranked, especially at 4 years. They are all beautiful at that age, and anything that indicates to them anything other should be avoided like the plague.

Hope I didn't step on your toes. I don't like what pageants represent. Beauty doesn't last forever, but confidence, intelligence, and self-worth never go away. Especially if they aren't connected to outer appearance.

    Good luck.

    :)

    Great post!
