  1. My wife and I were joined in marriage in a Cobb County Magistrates Office and don't you think for one minute that GOD wasn't there. It was a very religious wedding. We took our VOWS before GOD and swore to GOD that we would bind those VOWS forever. Not in a Church but in a Gov't building and it was religious. Oh yea and the judge (Gov't paid employee) even said a prayer to GOD for us. We didn't have the money 13 years ago to get married in a church and did the best that we could so don't you tell me that my marriage isn't before GOD and that it wasn't religious.

Yet I was married 13 yrs ago by a judge, in a church (for lack of a better place) and we kept god/religion OUT of our vows -

certainly doesn't mean that my/your marriage is any less important than yours/mine.

You are STILL missing the point. :(

A homosexual couple that is commited to one another, some with children (whether adopted or biological) DESERVE the same rights that you and I have.

  2. Good point, given my reply you posted from. That's the whole point!!! I cannot get as much back from the govmt because my wife WORKS too. But if you're just rooming with your butt buddy, then you get a whole lot more.

Why bring up something that will only suck $$ outa your wallet? (not to assume YOU are gay, but you should see my point)

  5. It's their culture, it's their laws. Maybe these women should have "kept it in their pants" to avoid being stoned. Why do we always feel the need to try and make mini-America's out of other countries? Just as they have no right to tell us how to live and run our country we have no right to tell them how to run theirs. They consider this to be a horriable act and have since the start of time. Do I personally consider death an extreme punishment for cheating on your spouse? Yes, I do. But it is not my job or America's to tell other countries what their laws should be. I am sure there are laws that we have other countries say What the hell are they thinking? Do we change our laws simply because another country disagrees with them? Hell No! So why would we expect them to change theirs?

    I agree with you!!! :D

  6. No, I’m not talking handouts, charity or government cheese - that has been discussed and rediscussed…I’m talking about taking responsibility for your own actions/decisions.

When I was a kid..there’s no telling how many times I was asked 'if my friends jump off a bridge if I would jump too…'. When you become an adult you can blame your bad choices on other’s..it’s their fault. Discuss.

    Fictional situation #1 -

Mary and Sally are going to a club. Mary tells Sally- I’m not suppose to drink because I’m taking Tyasmotiol. Sally starts drinking, dancing and having an overall good time. Sally asks the waitress for shots for her and her friend. Waitress arrives and puts shot glasses on the table. Mary takes a shot with Sally. Her meds interact with the alcohol and she is taken to the hospital. All Mary’s friends blame Sally because she had pre-warned her about the meds. But couldn’t Mary had just said ‘no thanks’ or just not took a shot?? Who is responsible?

    good one :)

well, as much as I would like to argue (just for fun of course) , everyone seems to agree :p

Mary is responsible for her own actions, Sally is drunk and not thinking clearly when she orders a round of shots - I just want to know how Sally got home that night? hmmmm.................... ?

  7. This is the one midway between Hiram and Powder Springs that was abandoned right before it was finished. Construction stopped right before they paved the parking lot a year ago roughly, and nothing has been done since. Now I haven't confirmed this yet but supposedly the contractor (I know the name but since it's not verified won't list it) stopped paying their subcontractors for work, and everyone left the job and put liens on the property. He spent $$$ building this place as it's more elaborate than the average brick/stucco type of center, and did not have one single tennant lined up to move in. Nearing completion, he had no one to prepay rent, no income coming in from it ahead of time, and poof - he went under. Now it's sits there for so long and I guess there's tons of red tape still being ironed out before it will go up for sale. Another sad one. Just think of the folks who bought homes in the new subdivision behind it thinking they'd at least have some shops they could walk to, who have nothing to look at but an abandoned center.

I still feel worse for those that bought HOMES in those new subdivisions that never got finished!!!

Not only for the stip clubs but also just to go to a bar. I know many people that will go to a bar in PC until midnight but then they will go to Cobb or Douglas or even downtown to party later.

we need a whole new thread if we keep this up :)

You're right - it's silly to close up shop only to have your revenue cross a county line.

    go figure.

  8. We need a GOOD Chinese place too. That Panda Express needs to be replaced with the Capt. D's I mentioned before. The buffet place needs to go and be replaced with a good sit and order Chinese place. Right now I go to the House of Lu for a sit down meal, and for a good quick pick up I go to the place beside Kroger on Ridge. Theirs is good for a pick up joint.

This is the ONLY good one in PC that I know of. :)

    Love it there!! :)
