Just An Example:
A boxer comes in which ate the face off of a llama ~ I personally would WANT someone to tell me NO, you don't need to take him home if you have Any Kids, Other Pets (Espically horses)
Just keep that in mind! There is alway a reason!

I just wanted to say THANKS to JustCher....
The coupons were used and the food went to the shelter on Thursday.
-
I can see both sides of this coin.... and no one will ever win the coin toss.
-
Thanks doxie... I didn't know that there was more than one!
Can we list their names so that people can choose to use their facilities as a way to say "we appreciate what you do"?

godzilla~
Just a thought.... have you considered becoming a volunteer yourself? even an hour or so a week would be a huge help.
I have issues with the county...they only supply the bare min. but that's not the point...not of this post anyway....
I agree that we should take it up with the local vets.... many other counties have vets volunteer their time and experience for the benefit of shelter animals.... as far as I know, this is not the case for Paulding Co.
I think its been said in various ways....I think most of us agree.... the purpose for the $35 adoption fee in my eyes is for the county to recoop the cost of food/bedding/water/time for caring for that animal while in its care. The need to have said pet spayed/neutered after adoption only helps the community in the long run. Not to mention the health of the pet.
I think this is an avenue to explore....there must be a local vet willing to offer a decent discount for spay/neuter of an adopted shelter pet.
And yes....I have 4 of my own....and I try to foster those that I can!
I agree with clawdia... if you can throw a few good suggestions out there, maybe as a team we can change things, but remember that those county employees bust there butts in a NOT so pleasant work environment....
((just a side note... the only time I witness most of the gentlemen from ~~> down the street "working" is when someone asks them to do something specific. )) NOTE * this does not apply to all, I have met some GREAT HARDWORKING men who made some bad choices!

oops... "do" not "to"

Thank you very much for posting Hershey's great news! And a big thank you for my "pat on the back".... Hershey did all of the work though. It's tough to lie there and look cute!
........there is always a temptation at PetSmart..........

She must be the most adorable thing with fur that Ive ever seen. I personally dont know anything about bunnies... wish I did... my son would Love her.... what is the life span of a dwarf bunny? do they need to have full run of the house? or just a room?
I think I need to buy an Idiot's Guide to Rabbits book.

I can honestly tell you now that Hershey is "Baby" proof as well as "kid" proof. I was babysitting my 9 month old nephew 2 days this week.... and I mean ALLLLL day! whew! I'm tired....
But Hershey has now been drooled on, stepped over & rolled into...

Hmmm.... I thought non-domesticated refered to anything not raised with human interaction/interference.
soooooo....... hamsters, gerbils, mice, bunnys, dogs, pigs, cats, horses, cows, maybe reptiles.... those are all domesticated??
Doesn't leave you much to raise, does it?

Actually, she was on the losing end of the match. She met up with another dog that didn't take well to new comers...
All wounds are healing well, and she should be tip top in no time!

Cherokee ~ Glad to pass along an idea. If you look at your Cambells labels, you will see a little square that says "labels for education" These can go to your local elementary school also. Note: they do need the entire label, not just the barcode. I made this mistake, as did other parents, and those that are not full labels have to be discarded. seems silly to me, but hey, thats why I dont work at Cambells I guess.
(Betty Crocker produts have box tops... Goldfish too)
**With coupons last evening, I was able to purchase 6 pouches of Friskies cat food, 1 4lb bag of Kibbles & Bits, 2 cans of Kibbles & Bits & 2 cans of Alpo. for ahhhh less that $5.00 ~ so please, dont hesitate to send them along if you have them!

Thank you!!
