Candidates finalized for House Dist. 19 race
feelip replied to GRAYCE's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I actually agree with most of what you are saying. Except for the part of ANY president making me prosper. I started a business in 1985 that I made prosper through hard work, being dead honest even when it cost me money and making every client feel as though they were the most important client I had. I made more money during the Clinton years than at any other time. Not that he had any direct bearing on it. My point was that a school board member, in what I believe was an attempt to girder the building industry, was able to cost me nearly $6,000 a year in property tax. No freakin than -

Just because I don't play hide the weenie with everyone that claims to be a republican doesn't mean that I think Stimulus Stimey resembles a president in the least. I have no use for PIBO or his politics. At the same time I think that to date, you guys at the Paulding Republican Party have put yourselves in a bad way by supporting people like Jerry Shearin, Glenn Richardson and a few others. Don't be pissed at me because your party has made dumb ass mistakes. Personally I think Joe Brownlee is a good choice for a state representative. -
Suddenly, a cow jumps out into the road, they hit it full on, and the car comes to a stop. Nancy , in her usual charming manner, says to the chauffeur, "You get out and check--you were driving." So the chauffeur gets out, checks, and reports that the animal is dead but it was old. "You were driving, so you go and tell the farmer," says Nancy . Two hours later the chauffeur returns totally plastered, hair ruffled with a big grin on his face. "My God, what happened to you?" asks Nancy . The chauffeur replies, "When I got there, the farmer opened his best bottle of malt whisky, the wife

Careful what you wish for. What I need to know is if you will support every lame brained mistake I make all the way to the end like you have for all your other friends. -

Here's what IS so: My property tax went from $7,000 a year to over $12,000 a year due mostly to the school bond. I don't care if Jesus was running for office, if he raised my taxes that much I wouldn't vote for Him either. So now it was the other BOE members that were responsible for the bond and your guy just had to go along with the majority? Which is it? -

Honestly, I don't know. What I do know is that he was for raising my taxes and I know I don't want anyone in office that has no problem with nearly doubling my tax. Actions speak louder than words. -

Don't forget that there was eight years of Bush too. I don't like being in a position of having to defend Clinton, I never voted for him, never cared for him. As far as someone to drink a couple of beers with and shoot the bull, I do think he would be a lot of fun. As for effect on my bottom line...... I have the results and what Clinton did had a much more positive effect on my bank account than what your buddy did. I'll not be voting for him (nice guy or not) and I will be sure to remind everyone I know. Not that it will have any effect on the election outcome but I think it -

Heart warming. But what is truly touching is all the county vendors that cared so much for our kids. Oh, and the developers? Amazing at just how soft hearted those developers got. -

I'll say this. When Clinton was in office I prospered. When your buddy was in office it cost me $6,000 a year. I think that says it all. -
I think that is White, GA in Bartow County.

Mine was $250 and our heat didn't run more than 4 hours the entire month.

I thought Katy Perry (whoever she is) was asked to judge talent, not to decide what was right for someone else to do as a career. Personally I thought she looked like an idiot. I can hardly stand to sit through AI and I am hoping they will hire Rosie the Dyke next year so the show will go off the air.

Hey LR, There is an old indian saying, "The sun don't shine on the same dog's @$$ every day". Here's hoping you are the lucky dog today.

I don't think anyone has said otherwise. Zell Miller, Roy Barnes and Bill Clinton are also "great men" BUT that doesn't mean that I agree with them politically or that I would vote for them to represent me in any political magnitude. -
Now I'm trying to find an excuse to go to the office so I can go by Skips.

Chicago Dogs with relish, celery salt and sport peppers. Skips in Avondale Estates has the best around here.

We have a friend that wears size 11 men shoes. I'll have to ask her if what they say is true.

We don't need 90% of the laws that will be passed during this general assembly but that has never stopped them in the past. I think the law should make it legal to ram someone off the road if they get in the left lane so engrossed in their phone conversation that they are driving 40 in a 55.

I worked to dethrone King Jerry and to elect Tommie Graham as Post Commissioner. Also worked (unsuccessfully) to elect a new Post IV Commissioner to replace Mr. Kirby, even though that was not in my district. I would like to think that I have had at least a small part of derailing the former Good Ol' Boy regime that was putting the county into an unrecoverable spin. All I am trying to do now is keep the county from getting back into the wrong hands. Wasn't it Gomer Pyle that said "Screw me once shame on you; screw me twice shame on me"? (I know George Bush tried to say that but never g -

Nope! But I KNOW that a large portion of the money came from people and corporations with ulterior motives. Not that they didn't care about the kids, but the kids alone would not have them investing into forcing the bond on the property owners of the county. The school bond was about enhancing property values so a few very wealthy people could make a huge profit. And instead of using part of their potential profit to enhance the property, they forced it on the hard-working property owners of the county. As far as I am concerned anyone that took part in this scam will never get my vote -

So are you saying that you based your evaluation of his abilities as speaker of the house on the fact that he is your friend? Somewhere there has to be a separation of friendship and reality. I'm wondering if you are able to separate on this candidate as well. Doesn't really matter because I base my opinion of his ability to represent me on the fact that he has already caused me to pay more tax. I also have to wonder if it was for the children are for the bank. -

I actually agree. I didn't care for Barnes as a governor, that is until I saw what a nimrod Sonny Perdue was.
