  1. Nachos with all the fixings...home made phill cheese steaks...or use chicken...tacos...chicken nuggets with fries...turkey dogs are one of my kids favorites...pizza rolls...cheese pizza...rottissorie chicken is a big winner with my 3, they can demolish a whole 1 at one sitting!

  2. I feel for the people that work at my vet's office when an owner brings in a dog that's that bad about having it's nails trimmed. Seems to me like it would be less traumatic for their owner to do it at home.

I'd suggest wrapping it in a blanket and only pulling out the limb you're working on and a muzzle if it bites. Have the styptic powder on hand too and the correct dog nail trimmers for it's size.

  3. Glad to hear you got your money back...they never give anyone a problem as long as it's within the 14 days. Many people do think that they can just take them back there anytime, not asking for a refund, but I was told they can't resale those...

It's no secret - they are stinky little things, but so darn cute!

  4. I actually had a pillow fight last night! Not what most people are thinking but the kind where every pillow you pull under your heard, HATE it, throw it on the floor and try a different one. So this morning I went and bought myself a new pillow. I did this many months ago and some how my pillow disappeared so I came home and found it on my son's bed, gave him all our old crappy ones and now I have 2 great pillows.

I'm a stomach sleeper too, but have to have my pillow and they make one just for me @ Kohl's for less than $15 or $20 and I love it. I'm too afraid to try an expensive one too. My DH likes the ones with real feathers that come out and stick you like a sword and if I ever end up with one of those in the middle of the night again, who knows what I'll do....I hate them!

  5. #2 is out out of the question! Not spayed dogs tells me a lot of different things. So I'd go with #1.

Edited to add, neither would be the one I would choose for an average Lab. But a very laid back, well trained, housebroken, Lab could easily be an apartment dog. But a dog that is used to be an exclusively outdoor dog is not going to adjust easily to this environment. I'm not saying ever, but not easily and being so far away from here, I would not do it.

  6. We have some really terrific (and tiny) Spitz puppies for adoption. Long story, but 2 are purebred and 1 is a mix. They are now right around 12 weeks old, already had their 1st 2 DHPP vaccinations, parvo tested negative, been spayed & neutered, dewormed x 2, flea treated, microchipped and started monthly heartworm prevention. They weigh about 3-4 lbs. now and are soooo sweet!

    PM for contact info.

  7. I'm sorry to hear that! I hope she too did not fall into the wrong hands when I saw the thread. It's so easy for it to happen and people will even lie just to have a new breeding dog for FREE.

We have a Boxer for adoption. Her name is Moxie, she's posted on the website. She's spayed, fully vetted and went through a complete heartworm treatment, as she was positive 6 weeks ago when we rescued her from the Paulding County Shelter.

  8. Well friends, once again, the cat is out of the bag - or should we say the dog out of the hutch! This Friday night, March 27, ABC's Nightline will be investigating puppy mills!

ABC Correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi and investigators from Nightline travel the byways and back roads of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania - visiting numerous puppy mills and filming Main Line Animal Rescue's volunteers as they rescue breeding dogs and puppies from Lancaster County's notorious Amish commercial breeding facilities.

This promises to be a very special program. If you are involved in rescue, advocate on behalf of the millions of puppy mill dogs interned in our nation's commercial dog breeding facilities, or if you just simply love animals, you will not want to miss this.

Sharyn Alfonsi interviewed, on camera, an Amish breeder while touring his facility - a first for network television. With approximately 500 dogs housed on his property, this commercial breeder speaks openly about an industry cloaked in secrecy and suspicion - the cruel factory farming of man's best friend.

PLEASE tell your friends, your family, your coworkers - ABC Nightline investigates puppy mills - this Friday at 11:35 pm (Eastern Standard Time). Please take the time to forward this to all the rescues, shelters, and legislators in your area.

It has been almost one year since Oprah's puppy mill show aired. That program received the highest viewer response of any Oprah Show in years. Now we need to spread the word about this very special Nightline. Only by educating as many people as we can, will we be able to help these animals. And after you watch the program, please don't hesitate to contact ABC and Nightline to thank them for casting such a strong light on the plight of our nation's puppy mill dogs.
