Another reason why unions suck.
-
Every worker is unique in his skills and contribution. Each individual should be recognized and rewarded for his contribution to the success of the company. Unions fail miserably and treat everyone the same. They encourage laziness. "Bob" should be fired; Tom should be paid more.

I'm Gonna Go Ahead And Admit That I Am, "STUPID."

That's "Little Tommy" Daschle.

The bullying by unions which forces a person to pay union dues when they do NOT want to belong to a union is the main reason right to work laws are so popular.
-
That's typical union "productivity" for you.
-
All of my experiences with unions have been negative, starting at age 16 when I worked part time over Christmas in the post office. I was too productive and was told to "slow down or we'll slow you down".
-
Nope, it's a generic and well earned label that unions have earned over the years,
-
Ridiculous. Of course, unions are thugs anyway.
-
Yup, but, rather than "arrogance and apathy", I would say that "Politicians will be our undoing."
-
I think that this article by Kirk Mellish logically addresses the situation: http://www.wsbradio.com/weblogs/kirk-mellishs-weather-commentary/2013/mar/04/brief-statement-global-climate/

Glad my wife drives a Ford Cmax Hybrid. It is not on the list. How did I survive childhood growing up as a passenger in cars without seat belts and airbags? It's amazing.

Can you enlighten me, please? Where in the constitution is the role of the federal government in our healthcare defined?
-
A good reason why we should not let the government control and legislate our health care.
-
And, remember, the government expects you to pay interest and penalties when you are late. If you overpaid, they never pay interest on the money they borrowed from you.
-
From what I have read, almost all of the cost of healthcare in Sweden is paid for through county and municipal taxes. Their federal government also provides some of the funds for healthcare. Always remember the law of TINSTAAFL - "There is no such thing as a free lunch!" You're right about our federal government. It provides little value based on the cost of services provided. I do not trust them at all.
-
Mr. Pubby states that Star and Dru's Nana claimed that 40% of Swedish income tax goes to healthcare. She stated no such thing. She was stating the income tax rates are around 40%. She was low. Income tax for the average Swede is 44%. Please read: http://www.dailyfinance.com/2014/05/13/why-swedes-love-high-taxes/ One could say that all working Swedes basically work to fund their government. A socialist haven!!

And, on the other hand: http://nypost.com/2014/04/16/the-false-promise-of-single-payer-healthcare/

The point is we cannot buy the coverage we want. You might have considered catastrophic coverage only and paid out of pocket for "regular maintenance" and medications. No can do under Obamacare law.
-
The truly sad point is that the left assumes that the government should control healthcare. The exact opposite should be our starting point. Government should have noting to do with healthcare.
-
I sympathize with your having to pay that outrageous amount for healthcare. Doesn't it feel good to know that a significant portion of what you pay covers others? On a less sarcastic note, your second point is very important. I chose to take the conservative route and did not apply to the healthcare exchange for a subsidy. I have been working that piece out when I file my taxes. Doing it this way prevents my underestimating my income, getting an incorrect subsidy, and having to pay a portion of it back when I file our taxes.

Whoa. The Democrats will work "together" as long as everyone agrees to what they want to do. Righhhhhttttt. It's a pity that so many people think it is the responsibility of the government to make life right for them. The government has no damn business in our healthcare. Why give a bunch of incompetents a break on something as important as our healthcare? They have no damn business touching it anyway. Lean to the the left? What is that? You mean "let the left have it way" and pay and pay and pay and pay.
-
No, this is what we get when the Democrats don't think something through, force it down our throats and then do a crappy job of implementing it.
-
I could tell you a story about the utter incompetence of Social Security but I will simply laugh (and cry) at your story. Apparently, for most of us (mainly those who pay federal taxes), the "Affordable" part of the ACA has flown the coop. It sure as heck has hit my bank account hard. It's more expensive than a second mortgage, and, for many, I pay more in premiums than they pay for their first mortgage. Thanks, Democrats.
