  1. THE BLACK BEAR JAMBEREE IS SUPPOSED TO BE GRRRREAT AT CHRISTMAS..

GLAD YOU HAD A GREAT TIME....HOW WAS EVERYTHING ELSE???

NEXT WEEK IS A CAR SHOW...AT THE GRAND HOTEL

It was great with the exception of the weather - it was COLD!! We did the dinosaur walk tour and it was not worth the money; wouldn't do that again. We went to the Comedy Barn and the kids also loved that.

Wonderworks was great for the kids!

We wanted to do some horseback riding and some go karts but it was just too cold; and it snowed Tuesday. But the indoor pool was a hit with the kids and they loved it.

The same people who own the Comedy Barn also own the Black Bear Jamboree so we only did one; not both.

Too many restaurants to choose from!! But we did the Mel's Diner one night and that was a hit!

Great trip and we will definitely do it again; maybe at Christmas.

  2. Ok..let me first start off saying batmans butt is healing very well.. the hole is closed

But heres the question.. We have a covered litter box and our female cat is the neatis and cleaness cat ever!! Now Male cat on the other hand.. Kicks out the litter, and makes a huge mess.. We had a towel put down infront of the litter box but he kept peeing on it, Then I got the bright idea.. I will put a box under the little box.. and that has been working great.. no litter all over the place.. Well I walk in there and he has been peeing in the flippen Box.. I think he is spraying.. He is fixed and she is fixed... What could be going on... this is driving me nuts.. I dont want to get rid of him but I cant take him peeing all over the bathroom

My male cat started peeing in the bathtub; thank goodness easy to clean! I have no idea what this is all about.

Now; also someone (not sure which someone) is pooping in my water closet next to the toilet. I don't get it - I use top of the line litter; keep it clean - when you get an answer, share it with the rest of us!!

  3. Me and my two granddaughters (8 and 10) had front row seats in the middle of the stadium for the Dixie Stampede.

They will be talking about that show for weeks!! Horses, skills, pig races, audience participation and an incredibly beautiful and patriotic ending.

    Hope to return next year!

  4. I'm taking my son out on a date tonight and then I'm going to open a bottle of wine at home and try and turn off my brain.

What are you guys doing this fine Spring Break evening?

NOt taking my son out for a date tonight; just got back from Pigeon Forge and took grandkids home - BUT I WILL open a bottle of wine and also turn off my brain!

  5. I made some fried chicken and tried to get a "good scald" on it (as they say in the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes"), mashed potatoes, ckn gravy from a packet. Comfort food. Oh yeah, and a glass of wine (as I cooked it; and another as I ate it).

  6. y'all are bringing back memories of my mom. She went out to the yard and got a good switch from a bush. It had a nice thick end to hold on to and a nice thin end that she swiped along the back of your legs. It felt like a knife. I didn't get the switch very often - little miss goody two shoes! But my brothers sure got it good!! All she had to do was threaten us with "Do I need to go get a switch?" - Uh, that would be a big negative!!

  7. Some kids you have to; others you don't. My first was average and a spanking sometimes. The second (a boy) was a terror when little but grew out of it (after many spankings) - the youngest - maybe 1 or 2 in her life. I did spank her once because she opened the door to a stranger before I could get there. Can't even remember if she ever got another one. There was a face slap as a teenager - I guess I shouldn't have; and she screamed she would call the police (LOL). She was just a bit too full of herself!

  8. I cook just for 2.. and I have the hardest time trying to cut the amount down.. hubby tells me it is just the two of us now.. that our boys are grown and gone..

I always have left overs LOL

My mom cooks just for her self.. it is hard enough to cook for 2 much less 1..

I bet you have a lot of left overs also?

Sometimes enough to freeze; and sometimes enough to take to work for lunch. I love to make soups and stews and freeze; nothing like a nice bowl of soup or rice and beans with a chunk of bread!! I do spaghetti sauce for two meals and freeze just the sauce. I wish I didn't love it so much. I am way tooooo heavy; but love to cook!! I keep telling myself to just eat a piece of meat and a nice salad - but how can you pass up potatoes, or rice, or pasta!!! Arghhhh! But keep this thread going; I get some great ideas from this each week!

  9. yeppers the coupons help..

I wake up at 5 every morning... get my house work done, plan my supper... try to get most of it done..

and before anyone says I can do that because I stay at home.. this is my first year being home...

I use to do the same thing when I wroked and when my boys were little..

I so wish I could pop up early! My mother did the same thing and I always thought that as I aged, I would love to get up at 5:00. Didn't happen. I don't sleep in - but don't wake up bustling with energy. I REALLY wish I did. I am envious. But having said that, I can't wait until I can afford to retire. I so look forward to staying home.

I don't plan dinner in advance; but I do cook every night- just for one. I am not a fast food person and love a nice dinner!

This thread helps me decide for the night. I don't even start until about 7:00!! Thanks everyone!

  10. WELL SINCE I AM THE ONE WHO RECOMMENDED IT, I DOUBT YOU'LL TAKE MY WORD FOR IT AGAIN. BUT.........WE HAVE STAYED THERE FOR YEARS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE NICEST, CLEANEST AND MOST REASONABLE. (NO, IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT NASTY) WE JUST STAYED THERE MARCH 12TH AND STAYED IN THE SUITE, AS ALWAYS. WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE RESERVATIONS, THEY QUOTED ME $39.99. WHEN I REGISTERED AND PAID, IT WAS $27+ INCLUDING TAX. THEY DID HAVE A SIGN UP SAYING THE DISCOUNTED PRICE WAS DUE TO RENOVATIONS BEING MADE. HOWEVER, WE NEVER SAW ANY RENOVATIONS BEING MADE OR HEARD ANY WORK BEING DONE. IMHO YOU WILL NOT DO BETTER. BUT, MAYBE SOMEONE ELSE CAN GIVE YOU A RECOMMENDATION YOU WILL FEEL SECURE WITH.

SOMETIMES THINGS ARE JUST AS GOOD AS THEY APPEAR AND NOT TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

NO. THE INDOOR POOL IS GREAT FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. AND IT IS NOT NASTY, EITHER.

Oh, please. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings!! You didn't go into detail before - just said you liked it; and I have never had such a low cost hotel; ever. I already decided I am going to stay just where I am. I absolutely appreciate your input; and now you have convinced me - I just get gun shy because I once had a terrible experience; pictures on the internet lie!! Thank you very much!! Clean is my biggest concern - don't need fancy.
