It is very sad, and i agree. My sister's in-laws had a nice family business until Dad passed away. Now brothers started fighting and all 4 brothers are estranged (over money). My sister & husband left with nothing to get out of it after having built up the business for 25 years, but they also have their peace, their beautiful family and their integrity. Money cannot buy happiness. Thank you for the excellent information, this has been helpful and we will also check the adverse possession possibility.

Thank you, that is very good information. We have closed on 15 properties in 3 different states and banks always had a survey for us at closing. We found out 'at closing' there was no survey and it wasn't required. We had looked at what the county had, and we had the county 'resurvey' last week... now theirs matches ours suposedly. It is a small amount of property. Yes, we have title insurance, but according to our attny (friend, that closed for us), and what it reads... only covers 'to move' exsisting structures after $25k deductible... (cheaper to buy the land). We are in the process

The prior owner of our home built part of garage and drive on neighbors land (neighbor has owned for 20 years, and will probably never build or live there... at least not before 8 or 10 years). We did not know this when we purchased, & our survey is different than counties (surveys not required in GA to our surprise). Luckily, we were able to track down the land owner, but they are not being cooperative and so we are about to lose the contract that we currently have to sell the home. Any ideas on working with neighbors? They are willing to sell for $30k/acre, but we couldn't get a loan

Pretty true... we had a local contestant from Paulding County who was in L.A. last week with his Golden Ticket. They showed a 2 second clip of him getting his ticket on last weeks show, but we didn't get to see him perform. He got cut last week, so i doubt that we'll see him when the show starts, but it was interesting to get the inside scoop, and it was nice to know at least one contestant from Paulding at least made it that far.
