  1. We will be having Black Eyed Peas, Collard & Mustard Greens mixed, Sweet Potato Souffle, Roasted Pork and some corn bread. Publix has the "Glory" brand (bagged) Greens for $1.00, I got a bag of each, Collard Greens and Mustard Greens. I had a coupon so really I paid $1.25 for 2 bags.
  2. Per Ch 2 news ATLANTA — A 54-year-old Loganville woman died and three others traveling with her were injured Saturday afternoon when their sport utility vehicle was struck by a Georgia State Patrol cruiser at an Atlanta intersection, authorities said. My link
  3. No, it didn't sound like they were hurt too bad. I just hope all is well, and no one had any serious injuries.
  4. It being the first of the year, we just may have to rethink this "Scanner Archives" purchase. Sometimes there are too many things going on at the same time and we can't catch everything. It would be nice to be able to go back and listen to the scanner archives, on things like this.
  5. On Sinyard (sp?) Circle, cross street is McClung Rd, 3 trapped, vehicle upside down. The roadway is NOT blocked, so maybe it's in a ditch. ::Correction: "Possibly" 3 trapped in vehicle. The trapped people are out!!!
  6. We DON'T drink so I have NO clue as to how it's done. I had to ask. This particular girl was short, had medium length light brown hair, with a baby face. The cashier said that there was other teens in the store a little bit earlier, buying ping pong balls and the small cups, too. Lord, please keep these children safe.
  7. Hubby just heard there is a grass fire in The Meadows s/d. Not sure ~where~ that is but, I'm thinking Williams Lake Rd off of Hwy 92 South. Close to the Pine Valley Rd end. I'm NOT positive. Our Roscoe starts barking at the fireworks, too.
  8. I went to Kroger a while ago, from 8:00 til 9:20 (not exactly) anyway, as I was checking out, a young girl, maybe 13 yo at the most, (although, looks can be deceiving!!!!) asked the cashier where did they keep the ping pong balls?????? Now, I'm thinking out loud and asked the cashier, what the heck, WHY would a 13 yo girl have a need for ping pong balls on a Saturday night? The cashier told me that it's a "Drinking Game", you put the alcohol (beer or liquor) in a cup and you bounce the ping pong balls into the cups, That's all I needed to know. I didn't ask what happened next. Anyway, ple
  9. If you are homeless and go to Must Ministries, you have to be there at 4 or 4:30, and wait and see "IF" they have space in the shelter or not. You can go on certain days and do your laundry and get a hot shower. You can also, get a hot meal everyday at 12 noon. I had called a few weeks ago and got some info.
  10. Hubby used to donate at his job, as well. When he moved to Paulding Co back in 1997, he asked the UW people to change his donations from Douglas to Paulding. They told him that they didn't contribute to Paulding. I'm not sure if they do now or not but, I do know that the need is greater now, more than ever, I think. Years ago, when Southtrust Bank was in Hiram, they had a collection box for the Back to School Supplies. I had asked our buddy at the bank, "Where" did the supplies go to? She said "To Atlanta", I decided then, that my donations would be kept here in Paulding Co. I'd decide to
  11. Ooops, my post disappeared. I thought I was editing this post but, it went to a new post.
  12. Cobb County (Have you ever seen Sweetwater Valley Camp, in Austell?) has more resources than Paulding and Paulding's needs are climbing very quickly. We are seeing more and more people come into Helping Hands, than ever. This is excluding the applicants and people inquiring about the Fresh Start Program, back in 2009. We had an average of about 20 people in a days time, (on that Wednesday, it was 25) the week before Christmas. We give vouchers to people who are in need of clothes, to go to a thrift store and they can get so many pieces of clothing. We DO have quite a few homeless people here,
  13. Thanks, I found one from that web site. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to search thru all the links.
  14. Sorry, poor choice of words but, the mods chose to take the name out and I can't think of any other reason why, it would have been deleted.
  15. I'm on the down hill slope of bronchitis, I say it was bronhitis because my sinus's never hurt. I still have congestion and all I want to do is lay around. Still don't feel like doing anythinhg. Dr called in a Z-pak and told me to get some Mucinex-D. This started about 2 wks (12/17) ago and I took some tussinex (w/codeine) and I was coughing sooo hard, soooo, I took an extra spoonful and puked for two days. Codeine makes me so sick (nauseated) but, IF I only take one spoonful, I'm OK. If I take more than one, I'll be sick. I know I shouldn't have but, I was coughing so hard and I just could N
  16. A pcommer can't come on here promoting/advertising their own business, IF they aren't a commerce memebr. Obviously, the OP is either the owner, co-owner or an employee of the restaurant. Otherwise, you can post a "NAME" in the actual thread, just not in the topic title. this make sense, now??
  17. I can't find my recipe book. Can anyone help me, real quick OR do you have an Asian Cole Slaw recipe?? That would be good, too. TIA
  18. If you are going South on I-85 and then get onto I-185 (South),it's a two lane road, for a little while, if I'm not mistaken.
  19. I was late for court, in Muscogee Cty, I was stopped for the same. This was back in 1992 and my court fine then was $130. Good LucK!!!
  20. Hello Jackie, miss you too. How many grandbabies do you have, now? They are "GRAND" aren't they!!! If I had known, they were this much fun, I would have had them first. How are your classes coming along? Take Care and stay in touch!! Mrs G
