  3. West Ridge Church located off East Paulding Dr and Hwy 92 is set up to receive folks who have been impacted by the flood. We have great food, fun things for the kids to do, clothing, and toiletries. Samaritan's Purse is here to help assess damages and can provide assistance. So what are you waiting for??? Come on down...we're waiting to love on you!!

First, I know that going shopping on Black Friday means I should expect craziness. You could write a paper on the behaviors of the public induced by Black Friday sales. The stores have a whole year to plan, so you'd think there would be some kind or organization to minimize the chaos. I know you can't control idiots but you can help them out a bit. If you have a heart condition or are pregnant you really should consider having someone else go for you. ;)

My observations this morning. Walmart on Dallas Hwy chose not to put out maps. I was told "it's not 5 o'clock yet" People got into a frenzy looking for their items. This just added to people's insane behavior. The electronic center where they controled the items by holding laptops, blue-rays, and DSs behind the counter was not well planned. They should have had ropes to show people where the line was and to corral them. (sad: grown adults need tape on the floor too like 5 year olds) Numerous people tried to just walk up to the line instead of getting in the back of the line. BTW, an hour before the sale starts do you really think you are going to be so blessed to walk up and not have to stand in a line???? For line cutters, here's a tip for ya...never try to cut in front of women. We see you and we will not let you cut so just get to the back. My other observation was that people think rules or standards don't apply to them just because they really want it and were there at an ungodly hour. People just took items from the wrapped specials way before 5 am like they deserved it. I would have been ashamed and embarrassed for someone to see me doing that but people had no problem with it. Crazy.

Best Buys in Hiram was a mess in the parking lot but inside the employees were very friendly. I got there just after 5 am and I got in line to see if a computer was still available. A man approached me to sell me a coupon/ticket for $40. Are you kinding me??? OK it is one thing for folks to spend 24 hours or more to get a deal but don't do that and then turn around and sell the coupons/tickets, even worse don't try to sell it to me IN the store. Oh and your story about a baby on the way...not buying it. Apparently he got busted and the coupons confiscated. There was a lady in front of me selling hers for $30. I ran up to the Acworth Best Buy because a friend had gotten a ticket for a different computer and changed his mind about it. I went to redeem it for the computer and they told me I was out of luck, they had sold them all. To the sorry jerks that made copies of the tickets and stole items out from under people who stood in line for hours and hours, you are pretty stinking low. This should never have happened. The "store manager" told me there was nothing he could do and that it happens every year. Uh, hello???!! Get a better way if it keeps happening! I gave him some feedback on how Best Buy could have prevented the counterfit tickets but instead I was told "don't go leave and get breakfast." Uh the tickets says to come back at 9 am and some folks have been there so long they need to go eat or pee or whatever. One lady was quite upset having spent the night there and being 5th in line and the same deal happening to her. Being sleep deprived on top of it didn't help and the manager's way of dealing with it was to call security over and tell her to hurry up and pay for her stuff and leave! :o I never heard her raise her voice. We both ended up talking to an awesome guy named Brian who was Customer Experiance Manager and he quickly solved the problem. You rock Brian!!! My computer will be arriving at my house via UPS with no shipping charges by Dec 4th :D :D :D

So just some observations and experiances shared.

I guess we should all count our blessings if we ventured out today and make it home safely after hearing of people getting trampled and shot. Black Friday is not America's best day.

  5. I used a dry cleaner in New Hope (they are no longer there) and learned my lesson to only use a real dry cleaners. Not one of those dry cleaners that send your clothes somewhere else. I took my daughters prom dress there. The put creases all in the dress and tore it. Yep, I learned my lesson and now only use the one downtown Dallas on West Memorial. She is great!!

is that the one back behind City Cafe? I'm looking for one around me and I was think there was one there and one by Johnny's Pizza across from Publix. How much should it cost for a shirt or jacket? I have neer dealt with dry cleaners before.
