  1. i do dance, but i don't like country music, we went to studabakers

OMG that’s a blast from the past. (pun intended). I haven’t thought about that place in years.

I used to hang out at the buckboard off of 41 a lot also.

I worked at Ms. Kitty's for four years.............

Def remember Wranglers, Flanigans, Copperfields, Charley Magrueders, Sneakers, Limelight, Confetti's,

    My young crazy days.................

Mardi Gras? Befor it changed. I DJd there for a while

  2. None have asked, so it's not come up! Although I have "dated" Tow2topgun AND copschick a couple of times--we all like seafood!

Well I wish I had known. I was looking for someone to go to the fox with me on Friday to see Mannheim Steamroller. Got that covered now but I am often solo to these kinds of things so next time I’ll send ya an invite.

I’ve got the same problem. All of my friends are married or “have the kids this weekend” so I have a very limited social pool to hang out with.

  3. The real fact is most foreigners are much harder working people then the American people, and will often live in a small backroom closet of their business with their whole family. They have greater work ethics then most local people and know how to pinch a penny and give change back! We have no one to blame then our lazy selves!

I hafta disagree. Every motel that a foreigner has taken over (that I have had dealings with) has been run into the ground. I can cite several examples in the metro area alone. They buy a well maintained and established property; sell off any quality furnishings including fixtures (including replacing all of the light bulbs with 50w) , bedding televisions, air conditioners etcetera, and replace them with junk they buy up from god knows where. They buy expensive cars, add on or remodel their living quarters and pocked any profit they do make. They invest as little as possible into the property to maintain it. They put family (including children) on the payroll and pay them nothing but room and board. They charge taxes that do not exist and could care less about customer service. And will not think twice about price gouging during an event or emergency All this is why most of them are independent or low end chain properties. The bigger chains have quality control standards that must be met to keep the name and most of these foreigners will not maintain these standards.

And yes they bleed the property dry and then sell to a family member. When was the last time you went into an independent motel that the proprietor wasn’t a Patel?

They have done the same with a lot of the convenience stores. A lot of them have become fronts for head shops, where they sell drug paraphernalia in the open. . You ever seen the roses in a glass tube at the register? Who do you think would buy their love a fake rose in a glass tube? It is an effin crack pipe.

Do they all operate in this manner, probably not. but I have done a lot of traveling in my time and it does seem to be the norm with them.

  4. The unions have fostered a grotesquely inefficient workforce. Teamwork has gone out the window.

Employee (A) has a $50 hr job on the assembly line. His job is to insert a bold into a hole in the chassis, (A) drops a bolt on the floor, the line shuts down while employee (B.) who has a job making $45 an hr as the “pick up person” is called from his staging area (break room) to pick up the bolt. Because the contract says that (A) is not allowed to perform any task other than inserting the bolt.

Or how about this. I make a delivery of produce from California to a large grocery chain in Florida. My appointment time is 0500. I am in the dock at 0430. At 0800 my trailer has not been touched. I look on the dock and there are three forklifts with operators sitting in front of the empty doors beside me shooting the schite. I ask one of them why I am not being unloaded and they state that the operator arraigned to my door is running late. I ask them if they could possibly start on my trailer because I have another appointment for a pickup that I am now going to be late for. They state that they cannot help because my door is not assigned to them. So much for team work and getting the job done. It was 1800 before I got out of there and I had to reschedule my next pickup.

    Or this.

I took a load of bbq sauce to a grocery warehouse in Chicago. I had a co driver with me and we ran with another truck from my company hauling the same thing. When we arrived we were both in the dock side by side. There was one fork lift operator. The loads were palletized but did not meet the height requirement for the warehouse, so one tier had to be stacked off of each pallet, (how this became the drivers’ responsibility I’ll never know). Any way, since there were three of us and one fork lift driver we all three started working on one truck. After a couple of steady trips from the trailer to the storage area the fork driver came back while we were stacking down a pallet. He told us that only one driver could be on the truck at a time. I asked why and he said it was “union rules”. So we complied. My co driver worked on our truck and myself and the other driver went to the break room. Well it did not take long for us to see what was happening. With only one person on the truck the lift driver had several minuets between rounds to sit, smoke a cigarette, or whatever. I called my company and told them what was going on. They said to get the trucks unloaded however we needed to that we were not part of the union. So we all three finished up our truck and the other, to the dissatisfaction of the lift driver.

I say let Detroit get out of the mess on its own. Let them all file chapter 11 and live or operate within their means.

It is not my job as a tax payer to insure someone’s pension, or comfortable salary and lifestyle.

  5. Can the average joe homeowner jump on the bailout bandwagon to get help ? I doubt it . Why do we allow these people to dictate who gets help and who doesn't. I am all for fairness, so let's be fair to ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS ....main word ..CITIZEN..Joe-taxpayer.... my suggestion is to let all homeowners be allowed to have their homes and bills paid off, completely andeveryone starts fresh..now that is fair for everyone. Everyone gets a one time debt forgiveness,

I am debt free. I live within my means. How would this be fair to me?

  6. You are right, of course, but this is one instance of ignorance of the law that doesn't bother me too much ... I'd rather see people err on the side of *caution* than otherwise. Lord knows, those who are TOO careful seem to be pretty rare these days. ;)

Your Friendly Neighborhood License Examiner B)

Well I understand where you are coming from. But when I top the hill and I hafta brake hard because people are stopped in the middle of the road for no reason….well…

But I agree that caution has gone out the window with a lot of folks these days.

Bottom line Is, not knowing basic rules of the road is dangerous, be it someone not knowing how to handle a inoperative light or those that do not understand that a flashing light is not the same as an inoperative light.

Well, you posted before 2200. ;)

What I am saying is that they can be programmed to flash. At any time, the ones in my county just happen to be programmed to flash from 2300-0700.

Not to mention I am on central time so 2300 would be 0000 your time.

    :p

  7. Hey ,,I guess you are home??? how long you gonna be here?? did you drive?? you gonna let me detail your truck??

    thanks

    Marc

Yea I am up. I did drive, gotta head back in the am but I’ll be back up next week. I never did get that PM you sent. Leave me some contact info so we are not playing P-com tag.

If you can get to it next week that would be good, if not with the holidays and all we’ll just plan on some time in December.

It needs a good wash, wax and interior cleaning. You got the job, just a matter of making schedules work.

Looks like you found another LE job, where you at now?

  8. The traffic light is flashing at Hwy 92 and Mackland. This is not to be treated as a four way stop. It is flashing yellow for hwy 92 and red for Mackland. When the light is out treat it as a four way stop, when it is flashing the light becomes a “caution” light and the intersection should be handled as you would any other intersection with a “caution” light.

I know there are at least six people in Paulding that do not know this, because I just had to sit behind them as they treated it as inoperative signal.

    Thank you.

  9. The last one I got was 2 years ago from GSP in Tifton, on the way back from Jacksonville. It was like a eighty in a sixty-five and the fine was more like $340.00. Too far to drive at plus $3 a gallon trying to keep the points off my record. I had to pay it and take the points too.

My advice... Go to court and ask the DA to drop the speed so it doesn't go on your record and pay the small fine. Compared to what I went through, you are getting off way easy.

By the way, for those of you that don't know, Tifton is a speed trap 365 days a year. The fines are ridiculous too, as you can see above. The make a killing off of us "out of towners," knowing we won't drive down to appear in court. Seems like I remember something to the ffect of the fine increasing if you take it to court too. Can't remember all the details, sorry.

Doesn't 90% of America drive eighty mph on the freeway????

So what’s your beef? You admitted that you were speeding. "sort of"

Note the operative word in the sign "LIMIT".

THIS SIGN IS NOT A SUGGESTION.

    LIM-IT

1 a: something that bounds, restrains, or confines b: the utmost extent

2 a: a geographic or political boundary bplural : the place enclosed within a boundary : bounds

    3: limitation

4: a determining feature or differentia in logic

5: a prescribed maximum or minimum amount, quantity, or number: as a: the maximum quantity of game or fish that may be taken legally in a specified period b: a maximum established for a gambling bet, raise, or payoff

    4%38%30px-Speed_Limit_65_sign.svg.png

Do not exceed the LIMIT and you will not be subject to the PENALTY for violation of the LAW.

  10. Obviously, we all aren't as smart and knowledgable when it comes to Georgia Code as you, 'Oh Great One.'

Go pick a fight somewhere else. We all knew exactly what she mean't.

By the way, she never even implied that it was illegal.

“pick a fight”????? I just answered the effin question…..dayum

  11. I just asked the question.... I am not a dipcheeze punk like you that thinks everyone should bow to your power as a COP.

Do you live for the power trip? I bet you will get busted one day for it and the camera will put you in jail..We all work for a living and not sit on our Arse getting paid to work for the county like you,.

(no offense to those that work , unlike this dip.) ....

Oh and NOTE all the retirement funds that they have an incentive to give tickets out for to protect and increase the retirement funding.

I wish I could add to my retirement fund with all the power trip cops like this one... I would have a great nest egg from the heat from his billowing.

Talk about a simple question and turning it into a slam fest.... Nice Cobb cop you are....

Where do you come up with this schite?

You asked the question, I provided the answer.

This information is public record; if you wanted answers it is not hard to find them. You use these “questions” as a front for your mindless bleating.

  12. Isn't that what it's called when there's 3 patrol cars sitting on the side of the road close to the woods, with 1 officer shooting radar and 2 officers in patrol cars ready to pull people over??

No that is called wolf packing and it is not illegal. Georgia code defines a “speed trap”

  13. I don't write the ticket.... but I did work in the court system for a very long time, actually in the Traffic Violation Bureau in Cobb. I can tell you that the fine money goes to the county's general fund. It is used to "run" the county.

You need to be more specific than that. The total amount of a fine does not go into the general fund.

So there is an incentive for the local police to write more tickets.

    I thought there was... <_<

    Thanks,

Sorry, nice try though. The answers you seek are public record. Too bad you are so inept that you cannot find this information on your own.

It looks to me like the majority of the fines and surcharges never make it back to the agency. And the portion that does is earmarked for the operation of the jail.

  14. Yeah sounds about right. I got caught in a speed trap going 60 in a 40. It was in that area on Dallas-Nebo going towards 61 before the Lancaster subdivision. :fool: My ticket was around $250.

So because you got caught speeding……it’s a speed trap?

  16. Do I seem like the type that would have an issue telling them? Of course I have told them. We have ALL told them - they don't care, they think it is there right to know what everyone does where they live, they have told us this. They don't ask questions, they make a statement about something you have done and then go on and on and on about why it is wrong. It goes like this....

"Hey. I see you bought the John Deere. You know John Deere sucks because..........."That green and yellow paint they use is really expensive.

"Hey. I see you are drinking a beer. You shouldn't drink beer because its the Lords day and............."You should have a crown and coke instead.

"Hey. I see you got your mail a little later then normal today, you should get it at the same time because............"It really messes up my schedule. I have other neighbors to aggravate.

"Hey. Did you see so and so got a new car, he should have got a van because cars all suck because.........."I cannot afford the car I want. All I could get financed was this van.

"Hey. You used sod instead of seed, you shoulda used seed because its cheaper and grows better and................."The sod will make my yard look like I just threw some seed out and let it go.

on and on and on and on and on. I kid you not, I have gone back in the house and come back 30 minutes later and the old bag is still going on as if I was there the whole time.

  17. Yea, I think he dropped her off at Springfield. (A hole in the earth just east of PC)

In the 8Os they were talking about closing down McCollum, it was not self sufficient and a lot of the locals wanted it closed, not to mention the developers that wanted that land. Look at McCollum now. In ten years (or less) the Paulding airport will be on par with McCollum.

As far as it being a playground for the rich. I am not rich by a long shot. However do a lot of flying into general aviation airports. My parents live in Dallas, as it stands now when I fly up to visit them I must fly into Cartersville or McCollum. Both of these airports are a tough drive for my parents, if they need to come pick me up. My dad cannot drive and trips longer than a few miles are hard for my mom. The Paulding airport will make things a lot easier when it comes online. I am sure I am not the only one who will benefit.

Give it time, if I had to make a bet, it would be that within a few years, with proper management and marketing it will have a positive impact on the county.

  18. Starr's*nana:

I think your hubby dropped you off at the wrong strip center. Downtown Panama City has the main street with stores and business on both sides, enough to keep you busy. Sort of like Rome, GA. at the pier there is a marina and the library was there until by last trip. They have moved the library to a different location. The library has a room showing the history of the area and how it has developed over the years including Panama City Beach. We enjoy driving into Panama City every time we go the P.C. Beach.

Yea, I think he dropped her off at Springfield. (A hole in the earth just east of PC)
