I was so happy to find out that my headaches are not from a tumor..... BUT now what do I do ????? The headaches are real and painful....
She (the neruo) has put me on a new medicine, I pray that it will help. Thanks for all of the prayers and encouragments to have my MRI done. I now have peace of mind !!!

This was in B'ham but i imagine it is the same type thing. My mother was taking care of grandmother who had dementia. Medicare paid for hospice care to come twice a week and bath her and do a few other things as far as caring for my grandmother. I think it was hospice care that somehow arranged for her stay- once every month or two for a week at this place to give caregivers a break. Its late but I can call my mother tomorrow and find out how it worked. Hopefully someone on line will be able to give you specifics her in GA.

As you all know I am caring for my MIL with alzheimer's. We would like (and Need) a vacation 4 or 5 days, problem is we have no one to care for her while we are gone. I have been told that there are services that provide care for a few days or few weeks for caregivers to get a break. I am new to all of this any information would be helpful......thanks

I forgot I had towels on the line and when I went out to get them I heard a lot of sirens. I couldn't tell exactly where they were, but new something was up since we don't usually hear anything up this way.

Just After I posted this morning, My MIL had another TIA (mini stroke) I called the ambulance off to the hospital we went...
she is O.K. and they let us come home
She does not understand why or what has happened. She knew some thing was wrong and was scared.
She no longer has any concept of time. Sleeps only 1 or 2 hours at a time. Wants to go "HOME"
(not sure if this is really her home or home to be with Jesus) She Has forgotten all of her Grandchildren,most of her family and all of her friends. It is so so sad. I am not sure of what the future holds for us, but like babecake said Keeping her safe is our priority. not sure how much longer we can do it .

My Mom (and dad before he died) Has always Loved and included my step children as "theirs" Mom told me that his kids are apart of your husband and he is apart of you so How could I not love them as our own.....and same with my sisters step son, Granny Loves them all....

As I posted earlier I needed to have a MRI done ( I chickened out 3 times) to rule out any thing bad going on with migraines I have been having. I am VERY CLUSTOPIC and really did not think I could do it with out having a panic attack BUT...I put on my big girl panties and went today and had it done !!!
after 4 xanax (0.25 mg) I did great, totally relaxed !! Now I just got to tuff out the wait on test results, hopefully by Wednesday. Say a prayer and wish me luck !!!!

Yep, been there,done that !!!! It is ashame how one little person (My step daughter was 10 when we married) can wreak havoc on a family !!!! I lived it for years and years, and not to bust your bubble for the future...She is 35 and STILL hates my guts. She still disrupts my life every chance she gets.

O.K. let talk nervous breakdown..... I have total care of my Mom (75) total care of MIL (89 with alzheimer's) custody of our 6 year granddaughter. Retired Husband, Daughter moved back home sharing room with gd ...step son moved back home (sleeping in camper in backyard except every other weekend when he has the kids 3 of them 5,7,10, they all camp out in Nana's livingroom floor) should I go on......I do not have time for a breakdown because they all would starve.....

I feel your pain we too, have the full responsibility of my MIL 89 with alzheimer's. It is so hard. She has good days and real bad days. We are not financially able to put her in assisted living (Medicare does not pay ) and just not ready for a nursing home. SOOO we take it one day at a time and Pray that I can keep her safe/ happy. Weekend care would be woundeful..or just several hour a day.. Would love also, to find out if any services are available.

We were in the ER twice in 4 days, we saw Dr. Hickerson and Dr. Eliason, both were great.

17 days smoke free, gained 4 pounds already.....I am O.K. with it , soon as the weather clears up I will get out and walk it off. CONGRATS!!! and stay strong !!!!

haha, in my house the hubby is the one who does the sheets and stuff. He can't have a wrinkle in them and they have to be on a certain way. soooo he just does it now.
I only make my bed if company is coming over...otherwise whats the point
Amen..same here. He is so anal about it, he actually counts the squares on the blanket so that each side has exactaly 4.2 inches on each side. Now ,I just wash and dry them and HE MAKE IT BACK UP !!!!!! workes for me...

I am having cluster migraines... she has put me on Procardia. I took my first dose last night.......I made me so sick, nausea and headache..go figger !!!
