I don't miss this whole school shopping thing one little bit. I am a single mother, and up until two years ago, I can remember this time of year being just about as stressful as Christmas! Thankfully both of mine are in college and work and buy their own clothes! Also, my son works at Hibbett's, so we get a discount on tennis shoes!

I bet I know your son, my boy loves Hibbetts, he would get all of his clothes for school from there.

My son is will be in 9th & he is picky as well, He doesn't like the way the new tshirts feel, those jeans don't fit right, I hate shorts, I'm not wearing flip flops, he drives me crazy. I took him to the mall a few weeks ago to get a jump on the shopping he picked out 2 polos, I had to make him go in Hollister & AE, I don't get him.

I'm hoping I can get away with $150-$200 each for all 3 of mine. *sigh* We'll see......

 

We generally start out with shoes, 2-3 pairs of shorts and/or capri's, 2 pairs of jeans, 4-5 shirts, and underclothes, plus whatever school supplies they need. We already have the shoes so I'm hopeful. Then later we will pick up a few more things each for cooler weather.

Pretty much the same here, I hate buying the shoes, my daughter wants DCs, my 14 son has to have something cool & he wears a 13 so its hard to find, 7 yo son likes weird colors and has a fat foot, I need a nerve pill

[Tax holiday?]

I do appreciate the tax holiday, I have 4 kids and right now every little bit helps. The other part of the weekend is the sales on supplies, paper, crayons they will be dirt cheap & i can buy enough to last the school year. Last week at walgreens I bought 140 mechanical pencils for $1.40. So I am watching for deals, but no taxes will help.

People say those $1 papers have the same coupons in them but I am still skeptical. Seems rather coincidental that the 3 times I've bought one of those $1 Sunday papers happens to be three times there are so few coupons in it.
