Hammer time for cell phone used to run up $5K bill

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A cell phone used by a Wyoming 13-year-old to run up a nearly $5,000 phone bill will text no more thanks to her angry father and his hammer. Dena Christoffersen of Cheyenne sent or received about 20,000 text messages over about a month, and her parents' phone plan didn't cover texting.

Gregg Christoffersen told KUSA-TV of Denver this week that he thought texting had been disabled on her daughter's phone, which he smashed hours after getting a phone bill for more than $4,750.

I would be kicking some A$$!!!!!!

  2. That's what both our dogs do when we don't spoil them and allow them to sleep with us. They have their little kennel/crate that is bed or they get put in there when I leave the house and it's to cold to be outside. They at first cried because they were in the family room all alone, but now my son brings the kennel/crate up to his room every night and put the dogs into it and they don't make a peep and sleep all night. This also helps so they don't do their business in the house when we are sleeping or doing errands. They will never dirty where they sleep or eat.

Now that it's getting close to summer time, I have a doggie fence up that I bought from Pet Smart, but now I have to figure out how to keep them cool (have it under trees) and keep the ticks off of them without putting something over the top of it to keep the ticks out and burning the dogs up.

I have a bubbla outside that is filled with water but they keep knocking it over. I'm sure I will figure it out.

  3. Okay . so here is my pet peeve at work. There are so many times when a customer calls us and while I am on the phone with said customer their cell phone rings and then they answer it the same time they are on the phone with me , so I have to sit there and listen to their conversation while they are talking on the cell phone. Then they either hang up on me, tell me they will call back or put me on hold. Drives me crazy. to me I think it's rude to be on a land line with a buisness and answer your cell phone too. and your the one who called the buisness in the first place ! I mean come on if you are on the phone , dont pick up your cell phone and have another conversation while the person on the land line is waiting. Okay vent over !!

Wow, funny you mention this. I do this at home. I can be on my cell and then the land phone or vise versa will ring. It drives me up a wall but I normally don't answer the land phone. I will only answer the other phone if I know it is my mother, father, or my children.

I would never do that to a company I called or they called me...but then again, like I said, I hardly ever answer the land phone.

  4. I have one myself and we put both dogs in thier crate...It is big for the both of them. When Ragdoll stays with my son upstairs then Ozzy (chi) stays with me and the first thing he does is go underneath the covers and is content until morning. Shoot sometimes I wake up before he does. Chi love to snuggle and want lots of lovin. I can't even get on the computer without the chi getting on my lap and falling asleep.

I will also say that chi aren't the brightest dog in the world. You tell it no or bed etc....it looks at you like you are speaking a foreign language. We say (family) the dog is dupid. LOL

During the day the chi tries to hide under anything to get a nap in. It likes to lay on the couch under the throw(is that spelled right for the word I want to use? LOL)

  5. Oh, I'm sure those were just random events/encounters.

Don't worry, I'm sure a snake isn't trying to get into your house right now...

So wasn't ready for that when I was scrolling up.

  6. Umm.. I think someone had kittens to give away on here. I know havnig a pet is a pain, but cats keep the nsakes away.

Please don't take this wrong but I disagree with you cat theory. I have a cat and that doesn't matter to the snakes. Last year alone I had to throw two snakes out that came in. They were only garter snakes therefore nonpoisoness. I have (subdivision that is) a 6' cottonmouth that visits my backyard at least twice during the summer because of the pond and creek that is in the subdivision. I had (last year again) a colorful snake at the opening of my garage. I would love to know how to get rid of them.

From past summers I started to watch around my house very closely...I've noticed that as long as you have those lizard looking things or toads there will be snakes (they eat them). As soon as you see them disappear, the snakes are gone and don't come out around the house as much. Well, except for that cottonmouth.

My children and I went walking one evening and my son walked right over a brown (light tan) snake and it didn't do anything to him. We use to have thick woods behind our house until they started to build a subdivision and it cleared most of the trees....NOT, I was back there one day and I saw a medium length black snake with it's head up. I couldn't tell at that point if it was a black racer or a cottonmouth....I ran like hell.....LOL

So for a cat to keep them away, I have to disagree, BUT maybe you know something I don't. I know we had a snake go behind our brick stairs in the front yard and some how it ended up under our stairs in the house. My son heard a hissing sound when he went under the stairs to get summer clothes out.

  7. I know or met:

HaydensMom ( my concert partner when she can get away)

    Mrs. G

    Cape Crusader

And another person that met me at the Chevron (sorry I can't remember you name).

I know a secretary at one of the middle schools...forgot her nic on here....just as well.

I'm sure I know more people, just don't know they come on here.

My daughter said that she goes to school with either Raiders Rocks kids or RaidersMom kids. I know my son goes to school with one of their children as well....so I guess I would like to meet them, they sound like they would be a hoot..(fun)
