    Cake

Looking for a tasty and pretty sheet cake for my daughter's bday in a couple weeks. Any bakery suggestions? I am not terribly fond of store cakes and I don't have any talent in the baking area. Help, help!
  3. I need some advice about buying a home. Anyone know who the BEST person is to talk to? Thanks, y'all!
  4. My daughter wants to go "pony back" riding for her birthday. Does anyone know anywhere local where we can go for this? Please and thank you!
  5. I just want to say that before we got plantation shutters we had those blackout shade things. They are quite helpful when one of you is in law enforcement and works overnight ;-) Though we only had them in our bedroom and not the living room. See? There are legitimate reasons for everything!
  6. Gotcha ;-) My response to your post was because of the posts that followed...if that makes any sense! None of this is my business, I should just back out if this topic now...
  7. It was stated by the family that there were no drugs or guns. I am not trying to take the part of the police over the family ibut honestly we don't know what happened and it is dangerous to start this mob mentaility. What if he was armed? Devil's advocate here. If he was armed and there were drugs in the house is the family going to say that? What if he threatened the officers? People are nuts and you may be putting someone else in danger by whipping up this frenzy. I am sorry this happened and sad for his family but I hate to see everyone jumping to say definitively that it was not his fault
  8. We've been going to Jumpits ever since it was on Due West in Marietta. The canvas or whatever it is on the slides has cracks and we always come home with blisters on our elbows BUT my little lady loves it and the owner is so nice. I would always recommend it. Catch Air is a lot of fun, too. It just isn't as convenient.
  9. I particularly liked the picture of him standing in line, presumably to order, when his food had already been ordered and picked up. I don't think it's a big deal that he ate there (other than the inconvenience to the folks that carefully plan every detail of his visit who had to figure out what to do with this "unplanned" stop) but I am not going to believe that it was anything other than a photo op. He didn't stop there when he was here a few months ago...guess Tyler Perry's house wasn't serving lunch yesterday.
  10. This happened to me a month or so ago. Freaked me the freak out.
  11. Gotcha! Oh, she is Ah-Maze-Ing!!! Wow.
  12. The RR tracks, or the building?
  13. Yes, please send me more places! I always have these projects and the only places I can only ever come up with the same old places. I only wanted to get a couple shots on the train tracks, I am mostly interested in the building. And I am bringing a buddy for sure! Thank you again.
  14. Oh no, deer heads? Maybe I can hang some of our "DADDY" letters from their antlers, lol. Thanks for the information. I have walked my bike (the one time I tried to ride...disaster!) through that tunnel. It is very pretty, and I had completely forgotten it. Good call! I am nervous about the whole walking on the train tracks thing. However, I'm probably going to try it anyhow. I hope it all works out!
  15. Thanks! I am looking for some local spots to take a few pictures of my daughter for a Father's Day project. Isn't there an old coke sign around somewhere, too? Oh anyhow, thanks again
  16. Can anyone please tell me how to get to the building with the green door that everyone (except me) seems to take pictures in front of? And the train tracks, too, while you are being generous
  17. Hey now, those Senior Citizen centers are fun times! They aren't what you might think, and if she is interested in getting out and about that would be great to look into for her. I am not sure about Paulding but in Cobb people are eligible to join starting at 50, last I checked anyhow. I think it would be wonderful for her. Especially since they do have the transit service, so she wouldn't have to drive.
  18. Are there different levels of SAHM? Hard is hard, I am sorry about the non-verbal toddler issue but does the fact that I have a mouthy and defiant toddler make my opinion less worthy? I was not saying it is easy, and when I say it is a privilege I mean that my husband works hard to make up for the income that we lost when I quit "work" because we feel it is important to have at least one of her parents here raising her. Yes, it is my job, but I feel blessed that I am able to be here with her instead of at a job outside of the home. Make sense? I have done both as well, and for me it is much ea
  19. I don't find it offensive, and I am a SAHM...people say stuff like that all the time. Do I work hard? Yes, I sure do. I also have the privilege of being with my child. I don't answer to some a-hole who holds my livelihood in his hands, the only people I report to are the people I love the most in the whole world. I don't need a pat on the back or for constant recognition. Even though it is 24/7 work with no holiday/vacation/sick time, it is still a lot easier than getting up every day and going to earn a paycheck. People are going to think and say what they want. Getting offended isn't going
  20. Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I took her to pigtails and crewcuts yesterday
