  1. what wonderful news!

I suspected the URI (or was that a UTI?), standard for any boarding facility especially if "depression" is occuring such as Sammy was already starting to show.

Glad to hear you are not having the fights, just adjustments happening. :)

Thank you so much for rescueing him and I would love to hear periodic updates. You are right, he presents himself as a lover-not-a-fighter and had a lot of love he really wants to give!

((((and I had NO idea he was declawed :o ))))

It is a UTI that he has. No sign of any respiratory problems as yet. :p

  2. I took Sammy to Dr. Judy yesterday and he checked out OK. In spite of the extra weight, he is not diabetic. No signs of any problems except a UTI. Got meds for that. :good:

I let him out this morning with only the twins loose in the LR. The "queen," Sugar, and the smallest of them was downstairs. She doesn't like cats. She thinks she is a "people." She had already hissed at him!

He greeted Bandit (sniff:sniff) and Bandit accepted it. He's a love and has never met a cat he didn't like. Belle was noncommittal. After a few treats, I put him back in my room where he is comfortable.

He's a lover, not a fighter and is so sweet. He's also declawed. I'm glad his family didn't just put him out, he would not have survived. :clapping:

  3. My dad had two Siamese pass away last year, and has been considering getting another one. He still has one Siamese - and actually looks just like this one.

I will check with him and see if he is ready for another since we are going up this weekend.... I wonder how he would ride in a car with two kids.

I got him today and am taking him to Dr. Judy to be checked out tomorrow. He's a hunk! Sassy was 14 lbs and Sammy's bigger. Beam if your Dad wants him I'll see what I can do. I just couldn't leave him there. He started eating as soon as I put the food down and he hadn't touched the food at the shelter.

BTW, he rode fine in the car after the car got cool!

Oh, there is the most adorable kitten there. It is white with one spot of brown and black on the head and the tail is brown and black. It is a darling!

  4. I still can! I'm going today to find some grandma/grandpa stuff to break the news to our parents! :yahoo:

My friend was in a hometown production of FUNNY GIRL years ago and she called me and sang, "I am the beautiful reflection of my love's affection" from the play! It took me about 30 secs to figure it out! :clapping:

  5. When we lived in Colorado, my children and I went shopping. One of them decided to show their butts that day and I was getting tired of it. I want this, I want that, and then cop a tude when I said no. Well, I fought fire with fire, I THREW MYSELF ON THE FLOOR AND STARTED TO PRETEND CRYING, flinging my arms and legs. The look of horror in their eyes. My son, "Mom get up!" When I finally did, people laughed and one person walked up to me and said "Good one!" My kids never misbehaved in a store again.

When my oldest was around 4, we went to a mall with my parents to see Spiderman onstage. When the show was over the kids were lining up for autographs but we had to leave to go somewhere else. My son started to tune up, so I squatted down and very quietly said, "If you throw a fit, I'm going to throw it back to you!" He dried up like turning off a faucet and that was it.

  6. This is just AWESOME...............

This is the King's Firecrackers. 4th, 5th , and 6th graders from around Cincinatti, OH.

These girls are just absolutely fantastic. Just unbelievable.

They must have had to practice day and night for ages to be this perfect.

When you think it's finished, it isn't. Keep watching until the little white ball at the bottom reached the end of the line. Put speakers on.

  7. lip gloss is mostly like vaseline.

    From the internet:

Request: Lip Gloss Stains - Grease Spots on Clothing

    Archived on 09/04/2004

My daughter left a tube of lip gloss in her jeans pocket. I washed and dried the jeans along with other clothes without realizing it was in the laundry. Now I have little grease spots all over a load of clothes. I have tried fels napha soap, murphys oil soap and a commercial stain stick. Nothing is removing the little grease spots. I know the original drying didn't help - what can I do to remove these spots?

    WD 40

If the stains have already been through the dryer then the typical degreasers usually won't work. You actually have to freshen the grease for degreasers to work. Spray them with w-d 40 and then use dawn dishwashing liquid. I heard this trick on Oprah and it worked for me. (09/07/2004)
