  1. The old term is cat scratch fever. the lymphatic system is the system that filters infection that particular lymph node was over loaded and couldn't filter it all. Should go away as long as he takes all of his meds. the reason why MRSA is so prevalent now is because everybody takes antibiotics for any little sniffle and that is were the resistance comes in.

    What is MRSA?

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a bacterium that causes infections in different parts of the body. It's tougher to treat than most strains of staphylococcus aureus -- or staph -- because it's resistant to some commonly used antibiotics.

Cat scratch fever is caused by Bartonella henselae and I don't believe that that is staph.

  2. I gave my great nephew the toy that I got from you. He loved it! He had not walked without holding someone's hand and he was grinning from ear to ear while he pushed it around the yard!

  3. My son was like this at this age and we didn't put him into any special programs because I was worried about the social implications. (I had a cousin that skipped a couple of grades, and had a very bad time socially). He was the youngest of all of his classmates.

Now he is a junior in high school with bad grades. He hates school because he finds it extremely boring. He knows all of the material, and aces all of the tests, but doesn't do the homework or classwork. He says all the time that he thinks it is stupid that he has to do all of that stuff. He says "The whole point of class work and homework is so that you can do well on tests, if I can do well on the tests, what difference does it make if I did the homework." He is extremely logical, and no matter what punishment we issue, his grades don't change. If you don't fit his logic, you don't matter.

He has taken the PSAT and ASSET tests at school. He scored so well on the PSAT that he constantly gets information about colleges. The ASSET test is about dual enrollment in the Senior year, and he passed all of the tests with flying colors, even though his grades are not good.

Sorry so long, but the regular school system isn't designed to educated gifted children. My advice is to do what you can to keep them interested. If that means special programs, I would do what ever you can.

He was in the Gifted Program all through elementary school and middle school too.

The story of my youngest son's life. In the 11th grade he started going to first period (calculus) and the skipping the rest of the day. First period was the only GOOD class!

  4. I tried some gluten free bread once. Now I don't know what gluten is but I know it sure makes bread taste better. That stuff was terrible! :ph34r:e

This article said it won't work for bread!

  5. Carrollton - BY FAR!!! DH had his renewed in April and we were in and out in LESS than THIRTY MINUTES!!! Of course, that is the location we have always used and have NEVER had a wait.

In Cedartown there was no line when we went.

  6. The address is 1204 North Piedmont Avenue, Rockmart, Ga. 30153

From Dallas: Take 278 towards Rockmart. Go into Rockmart and go past the WalMart, McDonalds, & Ingles. Turn left at the redlight at the BoJangles (?) and the Lodge is a short distance on the right. Directly across from the side entrance to the Ingles.

What is the cross street at the red light?

  7. As you all know I am caring for my MIL with alzheimer's. We would like (and Need) a vacation 4 or 5 days, problem is we have no one to care for her while we are gone. I have been told that there are services that provide care for a few days or few weeks for caregivers to get a break. I am new to all of this any information would be helpful......thanks

There is a place in Hiram that supplies people to be companions and also do caretaking of the elderly. I've communicated with them but don't really need them yet. Can't think of the name but it's next door to Nemie's place, Bags and Barks, on 92.

  8. I cook the ground chuck and then drain it and put it in freezer bag. I almost always season mine with onion, garlic and bell pepper. A quart size zipper bag is about right for our meals. Freeze them flat and stack them.

When I use them, I make my sauce and drop the frozen meat in the hot sauce and let it simmer. Quick and easy!

  9. I hope you're feeling OK tonight. I"ve had a couple of root canals and had no problems. I go to a dentist for cowards! He's great and the people in the office are super. My 90 yo Mom just had her teeth cleaned and said it was the best doctor visit she ever had.

  10. Do you mean those little bitty cassettes like in answering machines? I would need a machine to play it back, then sure I could. I may have to head to Wally World and see if they have anything like that. As far as getting into the comp and into the software....no problem. I can use adapters or even design my own ground-lift direct box to make it happen. When you're a musician, you have no choice but to learn all the ends and outs of that sort of thing. ;) Plus I studied electronics pretty extensively back in my high school days, just for fun.

BTW, SPORTS SOURCE....yours is ready to go. I was pretty blown away by the clarity of the recording.

No, the little bitty cassettes hadn't been invented then! Just a regular cassette. I hid the player under his bed while he was playing in his room.

  11. All of the men in my family have cats and allergies. They live with both. I think men who like cats are great. My ex didn't like cats when we first met but gave me a kitten for my wedding present. He was a good guy, just a rotten husband!
