  1. Wouldn't you think that the school would notify the FD in the event of a scheduled drill?
  2. I'd hope they took someone from child's services with them when responding.
  3. I vote for the evil trap door thingie at the bank drive thru......(You know the one right up against the wall, not the one with the tube that goes up into the air.) and I hope they can reattach it, and that he isn't in to much pain, and that he's not in shock. edited to say........prayers sent.
  4. Sounds about right. Did anyone hear if the burn ban was lifted on Oct 1st? I realized that common sense would dictate no burning during a water ban... But did the county make any statements? I also realize that all fires are to be extinguished before dark...even with a burn permit.
  5. I couldn't see it, the backyard has a privacy fence around it. I was driving to Walmart as you were posting, I guess. Saw a few folks standing out in the road, smelled a little smoke, heard the sound of a sprinkler coming from inside the fence. You know chick chick chick, a sprinkler??? I passed the fire truck on Citizen's Square, on my way to the gas station, the Walmart one.... Cam home and dang near couldn't get in to my house.....Fire is in a backyard, on the corner of Quail Hollow and Fox Creek, three houses down from me. Couldn't see any thing over the privacy fence....lots of looky loo
  6. hopefully, whomever called it in will sit with the child. I can't imagine being aware of the circumstances, and walking away.
  7. hopefully the deadbolt wasn't turned. Very little damage to get in with a cc.
  8. The same way that any police officer/deputy would know that the man laying dead at your front door was trying to get in to harm you. You have to be able to articulate your actions, in a manner that shows your are/were in fear for your life/well being or your child's or dog's life/well being.
  9. While I know that Animal Control is no longer under the Marshall's office.... I figured they would be a good place to call to get information on county ordinances.
  10. And I never meant to imply that. I am not involved in this situation. I was trying to get some information, and share it with the class. I never said that you wouldn't be in trouble for discharging a firearm within the city limits, or in an unsafe manner. I simply relayed the information that "if you are in fear of death of serious injury for yourself, your children, or your pets, ....... you gotta do what you gotta do. This does include shooting to kill an aggresive dog on your property." I haven't expressed my opinion about it, and I won't. My opinion is neither here nor there. I
  11. A very nice gentleman at the Marshall's office just spent a few minutes explaining to me that if you are in fear of death of serious injury for yourself, your children, or your pets, ....... you gotta do what you gotta do. This does include shooting to kill an aggresive dog on your property. You just have to be able to articulate yourself after the fact. (and aim very well) I added that last part.
  12. What?? ::running to do research on the rights I have as a property owner to defend myself and pets against aggressive strays, by using deadly force::
