Wow! I am overwhelmed at the support and kindness you guys have shown me. Yesterday, I was sobbing and could barely see through my tears. I think I kinda broke because I have been holding it in and trying to be strong for everybody. Today, my eyes are misting while sitting here reading all of your replies. You are lucky and I'm glad your daddy pulled through! My dad and I share a very strong bond and are closer than we've ever been. I am so thankful for that. Sure, we had growing pains, but through it all we always loved each other. My mom really needs us too and I am happy to be her rock for once. Like you said though, it's so hard to not fall apart yourself. Sounds like our situations are very similar. You have given me hope that he will be ok through this. Thank you for that! I usually don't come on here to ask for anything. I am a giver by nature and usually pretty private about my personal life. I just felt compelled to ask all of you to please pray, send good thoughts or any positive energy you can to my daddy and our family. My daddy had a heart attack last Saturday and is in dire need of an aortic valve replacement. The surgery has been scheduled and cancelled three times. He has OCPD and we're waiting on his lungs to be stable enough for the surgery. I have lost several loved ones in my life and my husband lost both of his parents last year. I gri

I want a refrigerator for my friend and a million bucks. I set myself up for that, but my heart was in the right place.

My dad had shortness of breath and became very weak and felt like he was going to faint. He got to the point where he said it felt like an elephant was sitting on his chest. That was when he called for help, he described it as the worst pain he's ever had. Please get to a doctor asap when you get the feeling that someone is sitting on your chest. Every heart attack victim that I've spoken with all have that feeling in common.
