  1. The owner of Gabriel's and Paula Deen are 1st cousins and have a lot of the same recipes
  2. North wins coin toss to play at home on Friday vs. Creekside
  3. Stephenson does a great job in getting offers for their kids and 8 is actually a low number for them. A few years back they had over 20 kids get offered by colleges. Unfortunately many haven't qualified academically. They have the athletes but so far it hasn't equated into a deep run in the playoffs.
  4. I heard they were. I'm sure the idea was tossed about. In any case, if they are using school busses, I'm sure they had to prioritize to ensure the team got their in time. Usually 90 minutes or 2 hours before the game. I heard that they are expecting a heavier than normal rush hour today, generally people heading south for the week, that the latest the band would need to leave would be 4:30 preferably 4:00
  5. Let's think about this for a second. If they are having problems getting school busses to transport the band to the game on time, they probably have the same problem with the football team which has to be at the stadium even earlier than the band to warm up plus stop for a pre-game meal somewhere so the boys can perform at a peak level. Therefore the football coaches and the Touchdown club has chartered busses to ensure that they get there in plenty of time. It's kind of hard to have a football game without 2 football teams.
  6. Good point. However, the US has made tremendous strides to reduce its emissions of pollution since the 1960's. China, India and other emerging economies have not done so and currently do not intend to curb their emissions which in part is one of the reasons they can produce products at a far cheaper rate for us to by here at home. The United States should stand firm on any agreements to curb its emissions any further until these countries agree to do so as well because at the rate they are polluting it doesn't really matter what we do.
  7. Joe Bastardi, a very well respected long range meteorologist, who pegged Sandy and its general path long before any computer model did, has been claiming for years that we would have storms like Sandy go up the Eastern Seaboard. Not because of global warming but because of the atmospheric pattern we are in now with the Pacific Ocean being cold and the Atlantic being warm. The last time this atmospheric pattern occurred was in the 1950's and in the late 1950's we had 6 hurricanes make land fall in the Mid-Atlantic/Northeastern US. The 1908 storm that many have compared Sandy to was actual
  8. Great student, great person, great player. Go Dawgs!
  9. Yes I am fully aware of what Nazi-ism is I took several World History courses while in college. Did you know that Nazi's started out using anti capitalist rhetoric to gain support amongst the poor masses who were suffering in Germany's post WWI era but waned away from that towards anti-semitic ideas to gain financial support from industrialists at the time both in Germany and abroad. So am I supposed to say its OK for liberals to call conservatives Nazi's or vice versa because of what happened to the American Indians? Or what about slavery? Or maybe the atrocities the British Empire m
  10. Yeah it's pathetic how they compare conservatives to Nazi's. I guess they don't know that Nazi is short for "National Socialist" in German but they don't care because once the accusation is out there then no one cares to read a retraction or apology and it sticks. Seriously, words matter and we ought not compare anyone to Nazi's unless they advocate genocide of an ethnicity or race of people. Otherwise we dishonor those who were prisoners in concentration camps and those who fought and sacrificed to help bring the Nazi's and the Imperialist Japanese out of power.
  11. Ben Bernanke has to go. Decides to start printing money and says there are no signs of inflation on the horizon. Huh? I guess he hasn't filled his car up lately or gone to the grocery store either. Our government is so out of touch with reality.
  12. Supposedly, most of the restaurants in the area received a very bad score. I think some inspector was having a bad day.
  13. It is Turkish food. Similar to Greek. Very good and fresh food. I always get the spicy adana kabob with an appetizer of feta cheese which comes with pita bread, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes and black olives with a light drizzle of their dressing. It's one of my wife's and my favorites.
  14. No one knows yet. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a combo of a terrorist group and some elements of a country. Which country is yet to be determined.
  15. So you think that a mob attack consists of attacking our embassy on 9/11 and they are equipped with high powered automatic weapons and rocket propelled grenades and had intelligence to know the escape route of the ambassador to the US. A mob attack would be something that would happen in one of the Occupy demonstrations such as in Oakland or in Wisconsin when the union workers occupied the capital and you think we're crazy. This is typical liberal tactics when the debate isn't going their way. They resort to name calling.
  16. Number 1. We should never apologize because an individual created a video that was offensive to Muslims. The U.S. government didn't do it. What about all the offensive crimes against Christianity that are far worse than a stupid video such as ethnic cleansing of Coptic Christians in Egypt, sentencing to death of anyone in several muslim countries of any Muslim who converts to Christianity or any Christian who tries to spread Christianity to any Muslim. Does anyone really think this all stemmed from some stupid video and it just happened to occur on 9/11? No way, these people hate us a
  17. Unfortunately today close to 50% of all households receive some form of government assistance (not including Medicare or Social Security). Therefore, of course you're going to have a widening of the income gaps. Many corporations are waiting to see how the election plays out to determine whether or not they are going to hire, layoff, or move to a more business friendly country. Hopefully the U.S. can create a more business friendly climate to encourage corporations to hire workers to decrease our unemployment numbers. Then the question will be will those who are receiving govenrnment assist
  18. Making about the same as I was 4 years ago but creeping inflation has eliminated any gains.
  19. Interesting website: I got Romney : 99% Paul : 95% Johnson: 85% Obama : 17% And I've formed these opinions way before the convention or even the campaigns started so the platform isn't being drilled into my mind. Fact is the campaign of "Hope and Change" from 2008 has turned ugly.
  20. The soldiers who burnt the Koran didn't desicrate it and shouldn't be punished in my opinion. It was desicrated by the terrorists who were writing in it to use as a means of communication between themselves. The ones who pissed on the Taliban fighters didn't use good judgement and their punishment fits the crime. Although our casualties both dead and alive receive far worse treatment.
  21. So let me get this straight.....You take a story of young Afghans who receive the punishment of decapitation from a bunch of radical islamists for having a dance party and twist it into a platform to pound the "Evil Corporations". That's a stretch, even for you and the leftist drivel you spew on here.
  22. This link shows a composite of precipitation anomalies from the periods of 1950 - 1977 on the right and of 1978 - 2007 provided by NOAA. As you can see from the image the period when "Global Warming" started is wetter than normal across much of the nation except for Georgia. The period from 1950 through the late 70's is in reverse. A lot of long range meteorologists are prediciting that we are entering a weather pattern very similar to what we experienced in the 1950's. Overall, our understanding of short term weather (2 weeks to 1 month) is still emerging and long term forecasting is
  23. While the Global Warming Theory is comprised of scientific data (facts) it is disputed by a large and growing number of scientists who are experts in their fields. Many of these have reversed their opinion of global warming. I've stated that I lean towards the side that we have been in a warming phase and now are about to enter a cooling phase. That's merely my belief upon reading many scientific opinions on the subject. There are several variables that can alter the climate and most are not man-made. Volcanoes for instance, can spew more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than all the ind
