Funeral Director Posted August 22, 2012 Report Share Posted August 22, 2012 Mrs. Mary Llewellyn McCord Veal, age 60, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on August 21, 2012 at her residence. Mary was born on March 12, 1952 to loving parents the late Mr. John McCord and Mrs. Dorothy Turner McCord. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Mr. Steven Veal. She received her Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Tennessee, and her Master’s in Education from the University of West Georgia. She was an educator at Herschel Jones Middle School, where she taught Life Science to 5,000 students. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening. Mary is survived by her daughter Miss Lindsay Veal of Dallas, GA; brother Mr. Ed McCord of Tennessee, and many other beloved family members and friends. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Mary Veal will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 2 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 1 – 2 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Be The Match; a National Marrow Donor Program at www.marrow.org; or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help in their fight against blood cancer at www.lls.org. I was taught by both Mr and Mrs Veal when I was at PCJHS.
