I'm Floored
We may not have school on the 8th of October this year, either, but this is January! (Tomorrow's my birthday, so it's important to get it right!)

gpatt0n
thanks for catching the date error ... I'm embarrassed.... and it will be fixed momentarily. (if it isn't on your PC, it is because the one with the typo is cached - I do sometimes get in too big a hurry doing this.) I will post this from Dep. Brandon Gurley though: Most of the roads (if not all) have already begun to ice over. We are working multiple traffic accidents as a result. Here are just a few of the more serious problem areas. Austin Bridge Rd Cartersville Hwy (Hwy 61N) Sweetwater Church Rd Ridge Rd Winn Rd Cohran Store Rd Goldmine Rd Macland Rd Mulberry Rock Rd

gpatt0n
I was out running around seeing what I could see (I've driven in this stuff a lot - FWD and being careful got me through without a scratch again ) and I thought I was going to see an accident on Dallas-Nebo just before you get to Nebo. There was a northbound car - no doubt a rear wheel drive - stalled in dip in the road about a half-mile north of the public grocer. While there didn't appear to be any impact, another five cars or so were also stalled. My fear was that someone southbound would crest the hill and not be able to stop because of the icy conditions. The good news is that while slippery when I was there just before 11 p.m. ... there was enough traction for drivers to stop. Anyway, while the roads are passable - it is really slick out there in places and quite dangerous. pubby
I'm Floored
They brought in another deputy from the Hwy 61 side to stop traffic before getting to that area because of it. There's another area on Buchanan Hwy with about a dozen cars trapped in a "valley" in the road. A deputy is one of the cars. A DOT truck turned over on Hwy 381 just a little bit ago. Listening to the scanner, I can't believe how bad it is. They can't dispatch one wreck before calling out another. Please stay home!!!
