bensonfh Posted September 13, 2009 Report Share Posted September 13, 2009 Mr. James Henry Benson, Sr. Age 75 of Dallas, Ga. Passed away on Sunday September 13, 2009 at the Rockmart Nursing & Rehab. Mr. Benson was born on July 27, 1934 in Paulding County Georgia to the late Mr. Henry Benson and Mrs. Mattie Smith Benson. Mr. Benson was married to Mrs. Robbie Broome Benson having celebrated their 57th year anniversary on September 11, 2009. Mr. Benson worked for many years at the First national Bank in Dallas, before opening Benson Funeral Home, Inc. in 1975. Services for Mr. James H. Benson,Sr. will be held on Tuesday September 15, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Benson Funeral Home. Mr. Benson had requested that any of his many friends and family that would like to stand and give a Eulogy to do so. Mr. Benson enjoyed singing and requested that the service be filled with music, Mr. Tony Harris, Mr. Jimmy Tibbitts, and Kim Hardy will provide the music. Interment will follow in the Dallas Memory Gardens with the following serving as Pall Bearers: Mr. Phillip Wilson, Mr. Matt Abernethy, Mr. Michael Denson, Mr. Stevan Crew, Mr. Mike Hulsey, Mr. Jim Hite, Mr. Steve Miller, Mr. Jeremy Hicks and Mr. Scott Zumbach. Honorary Pall Bearers will be the Dallas High School Class of 1952 and the Ladies of the First National Bank of Dallas, Ga. The Family will receive friends at the Benson Funeral Home on Monday September 14, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Survivors: Wife: Mrs. Robbie B. Benson of Dallas, Ga. Daughter: Ms. Deborah Abernethy of Atlanta, Ga. Daughter: Mr. & Mrs. Tony (Susan) Wilson of Dallas, Ga. Son: Mr. & Mrs. Jamie (Amy) Benson of Dallas, Ga. Grandchildren: Mr. & Mrs. Phillip (Casey) Wilson, Mr. & Mrs. Michael (Bree) Denson, Marisa Abernethy, Matt Abernethy, Morgan Benson, Reagan Benson Great Grandchildren: Barrett Wilson, Preston James Wilson Sister: Mrs. Faye Smith of Dallas, Ga. Brother: Mr. & Mrs. Wendell (Jeanette) Benson of Dallas, Ga. Sister In Law: Mrs. Ruby White of Dallas, Ga. Aunt: Mr. & Mrs. Shorty (Minnie) McTyre of Powder Springs,Ga.
