Clark Funeral Home Posted December 12, 2007 Report Share Posted December 12, 2007 Lillian Clay Echols, age 81, of Hiram, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2007. A native of Paulding County, she was born July 11, 1926, and was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Wade Clay & Alma Irene Hardy Clay and husband of over 60 years, Robert Lumpkin “Bob” Echols. Mrs. Echols was retired from Paulding Memorial Hospital where she worked as an x-ray technician. She was a beloved member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, a devoted wife and mother and a dear friend to this community. Survivors include her son, Harold T. Echols of Hiram; daughter, Pam Echols of Hiram; brother & sister-in-law, Harold Clay & wife Martha Sue of Haralson County; sisters & brother-in-law, Joyce Gaddis & husband Tom of Conyers and Alma Jean Clay of Dallas; grandchildren, Matthew T. Echols & wife Abby, Katie Echols Harrison and husband Trae, and Brent D. Fowler & Michelle; great-grandchild, Henry Lumpkin Echols; and nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007, at 3:00 p.m., from Poplar Springs Baptist Church, with Dr. Tim Walker and Katie Echols Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Echols will lie-in-state at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Thursday, December 13, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Becky Strickland Echols Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 2004, Hiram, GA 30141. I heard about it on the news, but had no idea that it was anyone I knew. Prayers to the whole family! So sad! They have endured alot of tragedy! Link to post Share on other sites
