Clark Funeral Home Posted May 30, 2007 Report Share Posted May 30, 2007 Dallas attorney Bob Lane dead at 76 William Robert Lane, Sr., age 76, of Dallas, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at his home. He was born April 17, 1931, in Carrollton, Georgia to Jewell Robinson Lane and Robert Alton Lane. Mr. Lane graduated from Carrollton High School, where he was a four-sport letterman, Auburn University and Atlanta Law School. His college years were briefly interrupted by a call to serve in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He practiced law in Dallas, Georgia, for thirty-three years and served as Magistrate Judge for five years. Mr. Lane loved golf, grandchildren and Auburn football. He was a past president of the Paulding County Rotary Club and was active in professional associations, serving for several years on the Georgia Bar Association Board of Governors. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, serving as a deacon. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Elaine Gladney Lane; son, W. Robert Lane, Jr., M.D. and his wife, Stacy Welch Lane and their children, Joshua Alton Lane, Matthew Glenn Lane, Margaret Gladney Lane, Thomas James Lane, and Sarah Rose Lane. Funeral services will be Friday, June 1, 2007, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, at 2:00pm, with Dr. Gregg Potts officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4:00pm in the Carrollton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 31, 2007, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Flowers accepted or donations to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 401 Main Street, Dallas, GA 30132, or your favorite charity.
