Exactly what I said earlier, go on and bash me for asking questions and getting the answers I want instead of the canned variety. A simple yes or no is sometimes the best answer. Perhaps you need to look at your own posts.

So why didn't you just admit in the first post that you were trying to link Obama with Will for purely political purposes, even though Obama is not running for the GA House and Will would have nothing to do with anything Obama does in DC while in the GA House?

I was under the impression he was until he began this campaign.
Perhaps it was this that led me to believe that. Look, I don't know why Will and his supporters get bent out of shape for me asking these questions. We have been screwed many times from this District 19 arena. I find it hard to support anyone that isn't forthcoming and has skeletons in their closets. I just want to make sure there is nothing we don't know. Yes, I'm skeptical, yes I'm asking questions, yes I'm looking for answers. I think everyone should be.
If Mr. Avery cannot take questions that he may find unnerving, how's he going to handle representing District 19?? Is he going to get angry with someone that doesn't see it his way or questions his reasoning?? I think he is getting a little frustrated with me, but this is a piece of cake compared to what he is asking us to elect him to do. I don't think everything under the Gold Dome is all peanut butter and jelly.
So if you will please indulge me a little more, perhaps you can sway my support. So far I have seen anger, distrust, disgust, frustration and condescension from him and his supporters.
I think we should be asking all candidates questions about core values, beliefs and associations. But I guess I'm just an old cranky lady that should take what everyone says at face value.
Please! The only reason you asked the question is to make every effort to link people's dislike of Obama with Will. News flash: Obama is not running the GA House seat. This has been the same tactic the GOP has been using across the nation and you are just parroting the same.

Just admit your asking the question to link Obama with Will and trying to discredit Will as any other political hack would do.
If you don't want to admit it, at least grow up and don't try the childish "I'm just asking a question." I would say "Man up" but in this case it is, "Grow Up."

I have been around the legislature for 15 years dealing with bond sales. You are spot on. For anyone to think that a freshman DEMOCRAT will do anything in Atlanta are fooling themselves. It is the people that don't understand just how the House works that think that Will Avery can make a difference. He won't and he can't.
I am so trying to stay out of these political threads but just had to post on this one.
So we elect someone who has no grasp of the issues whatsoever because she has an R after her name and will do exactly what the Republicans tell her to do? How is that voting for the most qualified candidate? Sounds to me like you're more concerned with keeping the Republicans in power and getting those bond sales than you are with doing the right thing. To each his own, I guess.

Both Deal and Barnes were offered the protection. Deal has said he will reimburse the state according to the article. I will send him an inquiry and get back
to you on the issue. If he said he would I am sure he will. If he didn't say that I still understand the reasons why someone who just left Congress may feel he
needs protection. Course I think the Democrats may feel that way more than the Republicans right now.
Can't you lay aside the politics to see the whole picture? According to the same article, Deal is lying because there is no plan to reimburse the state and no system for that to happen even if there were a plan. I understan the need for the protection and think it is a good idea and certainly don't see it as a waste of money. What I do object to is Deal just lying about it. People say things all the time to make themselves look better and even tell haly-way truthes for the same reason. That I get and understand. Politicians do it more than most. All Deal had to do was admit he thought the security detail was a good idea and go on. He didn't. He lied to save his political campaign some money and that goes to his character. Lying to advance politics is not good.

I like your post. Maybe that is something we all should consider, we do seem to be more party oriented than people and America oriented. We just need good sound ideas. I have never known the people of the United States so bitter and so divided. Sometimes I am afraid that in the future we will be like the countries we see on the news that are always divided and resort to violence among each other.
We've always been divided along party lines. This is nothing new. The election of Jefferson was so nasty that it makes what we see today like a middle school class president straw poll.

Thank you for clearing this up! It is good to know that a politician did something honest and upright and there was nothing illegal or unethical going on! Let' me know that maybe Stout deserves another look for my vote since he had done the right thing all along. I wasn't planning on voting for him at all but now that I know he had done something honestly, I will certainly reconsider. Thanks!

I have noticed that a lot of people are blowing unwarranted money on "Fix A Flat" or "Slime" to seal the tires on their riding mowers. Folks...let me tell you a little secret....
90+% of the time, the tires are GOOD. What happens is this....when the pressure drops too low and the tire has finally come off the "bead" most people will just blow them back up, only to have them keep leaking. There is a fail-safe solution to this (although it requires a limited amount of work). When the tire gets so low that is breaks away from the rim (bead comes off) do this-
REMOVE THE WHEEL FROM THE MACHINE. Front tires are easy to remove, just pull out the cotter pin, and off it comes. Then while the tire is still off the bead of the rim, WASH the tire and wheel with soapy water....scrub out all the junk, and get it clean. Then WHILE IT'S STILL WET AND HALF-WAY SOAPY (don't wash all the soap off) then re-inflate. I have done this for years, and my tires never leak air, except over the winter, they will lose a little pressure, but they all lose the pressure evenly, meaning that all of them are still not leaking.
No amount of tire sealant will cure a tire that has grass and debris around the rim where the bead of the tire goes, so you're just wasting your money.

I'm not voting for a guy who is running to give his wife and family members a raise. Hit the road.
And what is your occupation so we can make sure you are consistent and not supporting someone who favors your job position.
Whenever teachers across the state have to sign contracts with no guaranteed salary there is a problem. Some school districts handed out contracts with the salary line left blank. That in my opinion is a major problem. I do think that teachers should make more money, regardless of my wife being a teacher. Show me a teacher that works 40 hours per week, or who doesn't stay up until midnight on weekends grading essays. I will make no apologies in saying that teachers shouldn't be compensated more for what they do. Education is one of the things that has made our country great!! From the k-12 to the higher ed levels teachers deserve our appreciation and to sit and accuse me of doing this so that my wife would get a raise show that you don't know what I value and pays very little respect to these dedicated individuals who teach our kids.
Bravo. Don't expect the inellectually honest (or intelligent) to admit that. Good job, though.

A friend, of a friend, of a friend has decided they don't have time for their dogs so are looking for new homes, although I don't know they're exact circumstances and may not agree whole heartidly, the fact remains that the dogs do need homes and deserve a chance to find a "forever" home.
The Great Dane is a purebred Harlequin with absolutely great markings and is deaf, but doesn't seemed to be bothered by it.
Bassett is pure as well with papers, a little overweight it appears, but who isn't these days.

Last night I saw one of the kids that live in that home walking down the street carrying what looked like a long shiny metal pole. It was dark so I could not tell if it was a baseball bat but it looked very close to that. It was about 10:30-11:00 pm. What are they doing out that late walking the neighborhood?
I have been on the lookout since they came home and of course check my windows for broken glass and forced entry every day when I come home.
I hope all of this will be over soon. I can't stand it any more. It is the most uneasy feeling. It is like living with a time bomb in your neighborhood and you never know when it is going to go off. Will I be next, again?!?
I have never experienced anything like this and can tell you, it has NEVER happened here before until this past year. I always felt so safe and now I feel like there is NOTHING that can protect us. I understand the PCSO has their hands full with this and is on our side as they have been called out so many times they must know when they get a call for Victoria Cove they probably have a feeling what it is in reference to.

They have the NAACP that want to offer them protection and justice but what about the residents that have been victims of all of their crimes. Where is our protection, where is our justice? The NAACP will figure it out that this is a case of run and hide. That is what they are doing, running and hiding behind the NAACP. The ones that have had these crimes committed against them are the REAL victims.

no i know that would not make it right but, we feel like our hands are tied, iam saying i wish we had someone we could ggo running to that would take care of the victoms ! we are the ones that keep paying over and over, the police are helping, but it seems like when a turn goes in the right direction, a judge makes a move and lets them out, not to mention the 11 year olds court date was moved to april, i mean its like its never going to end, some of us call the judge and ask for pertective custidy and he cusses us out and hangs up. we are not moving anywhere except backwards, thats how it feels anyway. but beleive me i know 2 wrongs dont make a right, but if we had patrick lanzo on our team, since he is a member of the naacp, maybe he could reason with the mother.

I am a member of the NAACP and I do not supprt what these children have done. They are only getting information from this woman and her children. This woman is downplaying everything her children have done. She needs a good swift kick in the butt and be put in jail herself for letting her kids behave the way they do.

You people arent listening to me! I did not say that i am in favor of the klan or that i support the klan and i shure dont think that they need to get involved in this matter. I am simply stating that the NAACP racist group should be treated just like any other racist group and that they should not be allowed to get involved in matters like this or anything. We need to shut them down just like we did the klan. I know there were some bad things that happened in the past but i am talking about right now.Theese people come in to our community and try to throw their weight around just like the klan did back in the day and they need to be stopped before they get any stronger or it is going to take a war to stop it. and yes the NAACP probably has a lot to do with why nothing is being done by the sherrifs dept, they are scared to go against them because then the whole sherrifs dept will be labeled racist. I am shure that they put up the money to bail the thiefs out and they are probably paying this womans bills so that she doesent get evicted or foreclosed and that is probably the reason that she called them in the first place and turned this whole thing around on the good people in the community.
we thought the naacp bailed them out to, but it was the judge tex that let them go, now we have to fear for our lives and our kids and pets.

Lowrider, in the case of the Leo Frank Mary Phagan I don't think it was the KKK that did the lynching. I believe it was some of Mariettas finest citizins including an ex-sherriff and clergymen and others. I think after this and at the grave of Mary Phagan the KKK was reborn is what they claim. Just wanted to clarify that. I personally don't think we need a KKK or a NAACP. I feel these are raciscs groups that stir up trouble. I believe thats one of our biggest problems of racism today.
yeah but angela webb is the one that got the naacp involed for no reason, it had and has never had nothing to do with the color of their skin. but i do wish we had a naawp, because i think she is doing this because we are white ! lol i wish she could see how stupid she sounds, saying we are racist

...and, for the record, the sheriff's department has been very cooperative in our efforts to start the neighborhood watch group. We haven't given them the opportunity to meet with us yet, but that is coming very soon. In the mean time they have dropped off information at my house, and they have talked to me about where we are going. I'm excited about working with them on this. I think watch groups can make our subdivisions safer and law enforcement's job easier.
From what I have heard just having an active watch group might take care of the problem.

How old are you? Obviously you are not old enough to remember segregation and discrimination and/or even murders and hangings by the klan. It was only the turn of the century that a white jewish man was hung in Marietta. Leo Frank. It was only 40 years ago that people's houses were bombed and burned because of the color of their skin. It was only 1995 when the Oklahoma bombing occured because of a white seperatist racist.
Maybe you should do some research on the klan and see if that is the kind of social structure you would like to live under.
But then again, if you are male and white, you wouldn't have any problem with them as long as you believed as they do.
BTW: I just gotta say, two wrongs never make anything right, and what the NAACP is doing is wrong, IMHO, but if what everyone in that neighborhood says is true and they have documentation and proof, I have to believe justice will win in the end. This could very easily turn into a very volatile, deadly situation, and I don't want that to happen.
