  1. Question....would I be a bad father if I have convinced my 4 yr old that bologna IS ham???

I tried doing the opposite, my daughter loved & still loves bologna. I told her that bologna is made of whats left over after they make the ham & all the other good meats.

  2. As one that works from home and enjoys the window open when weather permits, I can understand your neighbor. Constant barking dogs are irritating and a nuisance to me in my own home. Get your dog a bark collar for Christmas.

The dog does not bark constantly all day. I've been home all day & I have heard the dog twice, both times I told her to stop barking, which she did.

I've been wondering about this myself. Our neighbor lets her dogs out every morning around 5:15 AM and they do their business and then start barking and howling. They carry on like that for a minute or two until she finally lets them back inside.

Granted it's not 15 minutes of continuous barking, but it IS enough to wake my wife up every single morning and make sure she gets up in a really BAD mood! I've been tempted to do something bad but it's not the dogs fault, but the neighbor ought to have more consideration. In fact, there's a police officer that lives on the other side of her so he is either a heavy sleeper or doesn't want his dirty laundry (like shooting off illegal fireworks, etc) brought out.

What to do... what to do...

I guess I could record their barking and then replay it back (loudly) toward her house for 14 minutes straight!

I would hate to be woke up at 5am also. The earliest we let our dog out is 7am. & she sets by the door until we feed her around 7:45, without barking.

  3. Tell her to get a job or something and stop worrying about your dog. Mine sleeps all day. She is a lazy arse.

Mine sleeps alot also, but ie. someone was spreading fertilizer in their yard & my dog jumped up to bark at the man spreading the fertilizer. She lets us know when someone is around & I don't want to put a bark collar on her, I want to be alerted when a strangers around.

  4. I think if you can record or video 15 minutes of it, that's considered a nuisance and can be turned in.. (I think.)

I thought that was during the night during the noise ordinance times.

  5.

I bring my dog in every night around 9pm or sooner so she does not disturb any of the neighbors sleep. I thought that was being thoughtful of me & there is the night time noise ordinance.

Well, my neighbor has complained that she can hear my dog bark during the day. No, she does not work at night & have to sleep during the day or anything, just does not like to hear dogs bark. Whats everyones opinion on this?

  6.

If you are still looking for a Wii call Walmart & ask when their next shipment comes in,be there at midnight of the day they get them in. At least thats how I got mine I called the 2 on 41, the new one near East Paulding High & the one in Hiram & they all told me the same story, that they start selling them at 12:01 am. I got ours at the one near East Paulding.

  7. I'm in Home Depot Hell.

I've been taking off the week of Thanksgiving for the last few years. We usually clean the house and I put up the outside lights and help with the indoor tree and decorations. (My part usually intails hauling them up from the basement, all 35 Rubbermaid containers of them... did I mention my wife likes Christmas?... and then hauling the empties back downstairs) Then I get to assemble the tree with a 1000 limbs.....

Anyway, this year my wife asked if instead of presents, she could have some home projects done instead this week instead, using her Christmas money to purchase the materials. What I ask? Well, crown molding and some display shelves in the bedroom and repaint the dining room. Paint the dining room? Why? The house is only 7 years old. That was 20 year paint I bought for that room. The Home Depot cans said so!! I've still got 13 years to go!! No!!! Please!!!!!

But, being the loving husband I am I say, "No problem". Little did I know.

We purchase the materials for the shelves a few weeks ago, then she decides she'd like to paint the dining room first. No problem I say, shouldn't take more than a day. So I send her to Home Depot to get the paint. It's your present, you pick the color. (I'm color blind, so it doesn't do me any good to be there anyway)

She returns, I open the hatch and OMG it looks like she bought every last can of paint they had. I ask WTH is this?

Well, she says, the nice man at the Home Depot showed her how to match colors and told her all about this "Faux Painting" she wants to try. Ho painting? You want the dining room to look like a Ho House? I ask. She gives me a disgusted look. I know that look and I quickly start pulling out cans to change the subject.

There is a can of Dark red. "What's this?" "It's the color for above the chair rail." "What? What do mean for ABOVE the chair rail. The wall is one color right?" "Oh no, the nice man explained how to use the color cards to get coordinating colors." Oh crap. Ok I can deal with this.

I pull out the next one. "And this?" "It's glaze for the sponge" "What sponge?" I ask, completely confused at this point. "For the Faux Painting" she says, like that explains everything. Oh man, I'm doomed.

Pull out a quart can. "And this?" "Color for the glaze." Why the hell didn't they put that in at the store? Oh well, figure that out later.

Pull out two more cans. What's this? Base color for the sponge painting and the ceiling. WHAT! Wait a minute, what do you mean paint the ceiling? What's wrong with the ceiling? The ceiling is fine!!! Another version of the "The Look" Oh crap.

Pull out another quart. "What is this then?" "Primer for the Dark Red. The nice man said that without Primer I wouldn't get the right color." Right. Dark paint that won't cover. I'm really doomed.

Get another gallon out. "What is this last one then?" "New white for all the trim. The old paint has yellowed." No it hasn't. It can't yellow. It was 20 year paint remember! Another look. I shut up.

So I drag all this in, we move all the dining room furniture into the living room making it useless. I spend half a day with paper, tape and plastic trying to protect the hardwood floors from the disasters I know are coming.

Then the painting starts. First re-paint the trim white again and clean the brushes, then roll the ceiling and clean the roller pans, then edging and cutting in and clean the brushes again, then the primer above the rail, (what the heck, this looks PINK!! is it supposed to be that color? ), and clean the roller pans again, then the under chair rail base coat, and clean the bloody pans AGAIN, then more edging, then another coat on the ceiling then more on the under rail then first coat of the red and OMG it looks like hell. This paint won't stick. Trim it twice and it still won't cover even the primer the nice man sold her, much less the white trim pain that missed. Arrrrggggggg....... Clean the pans and brushes AGAIN.

It is now 6 days later and we're STILL putting on "the base" and more tape. OMG. It's the project from Hell. I'll still be painting at Christmas at this rate.

If I find that "nice man", he's dead meat. :o

    </RANT>

    Whew. I feel better now.

    :D

My son says you should send this Bill Engvall (sp?), its too funny. Lets just say my high school son thinks its funny.

  8. The Raider Band is great! They preform very well...I know on the football boards the fans from TCC were commenting on how good our band was.. they should be very proud!! :)

I saw a statement on a sports board where a TCC fan said the Raider Brigade band was the best they had seen all year.

  9. Did you see North Paulding?

    Only Freshmen.....

    Now that was AMAZING!

I would have loved to have seen North Paulding, but being that they were # 100 in the parade I didn't get to see them. Love those white tux jackets, can't wait to see what marching uniforms they pick.

The Raider brigade was awsome!!! I loved all the moving around they did while marching down the parade route.

  10. I don't know what the big deal was about throwing candy. Shoot the kids where I was was having a ball trying to catch it. I even had fun catching it. I met the sweetest little boy. His mom said you can't eat that. It was hard candy so she turned to me and said you want this. That little few must of seen her do it. So every time he picked one up he would give it to me. I got some that i thought he could eat so I gave it to him. He just smile a big old smile. Then the nicest little girl was sitting on the curb with me. She just chated and chated. We both had a good time. So some of you had problems with the candy. I believe it was for everyone big and small. It was a perfect day.O what a wonderful day..

I think the problem with throwing candy is that the candy sometime ends up in the middle of the street & the small children run out to get it & may get hit by a car. Probably a lawsuit waiting to happen. The parade sponsors have it in the contract that you can't throw candy so they will not be the ones being sued.

  12. I was sitting on the same side of the street as the theatre in Dallas. I saw too many little kids running free & the parents were watching them run over to & in front of the vehicles & floats to get candy. One time we saw one of these kids run in front of a car & a police officer ran over picked up the kid & handed the child back to his mother. The mother looked at the police officer like, how dare you hand me my kid as if you want me to watch him. I thought it was a scarey situation. There are certain areas in downtown Dallas that need to be roped off to keep the spectators back off the street. The bands hardly had room to march & there were plenty of times that it looked as if someone was going to get a flag in their face when the colorguards were spinning their flags.

  13. The East paulding Band was great. I know they were tired since they did not get back from the EPHS playoff game until 3:30 this morning. Loved the moves they did as they came down the parade route. It was nice to see a band do something other than just play and march in a line.

  14. I was hoping to get a qualified candidate with proven experience in a large and growing school system. From what I have read on here, most of his administration experience comes from Paulding County (and we know how messed up that is) and Haralson County which only has about 4000 students. Am I missing something?

I was hoping that we would get someone that has experience with a larger & faster growing county also. Did Mrs. Sowars really storm out of the room or is that all just rumors? I truely believe that she always had our kids best interest at heart & always tried to make the best & fairest decissions possible. I'm sure she was put in high stress situations daily & don't blame her for leaving.

  17. These are two different Larry Ragsdales.

There are two Larry Ragsdales from Paulding County? Isn't he the same one that was the associate Super. of Paulding BOE before he went to Harralson County. You can go to Paulding.gov to see a pic. of him as a commissioner, maybe Haralson County will have a Pic. of the Larry Ragsdale as their super. I thought they were the same person.
