Couponmon.com is OK. I really like my grocery deals.com, you put in your zip code & if you register you can put in your favorite stores & it tells you all the deals & sales in your area at those particular stores, you can click on certain items you like & make yourself a list. This way you don't have to run from store to store to search for deals an waste gas doing it.

  2. At the Regular Board meeting held on 5/27/2008 The Paulding County School Board voted UNANIMOUSLY to raise the taxes on preperty owners in Paulding County.

They proposed public hearings on June 24, 2008 -7:30 am , July 8,2008- 6:00 PM and July 22, 7:30 am All concerned citizens should make a attempt to attend these meetings.

This tax increase comes on the heels of the highest single year tax Increase ever imposed on the Citizens of Paulding County.

This School board has raised our taxes EVERY YEAR that they have held office, And when I vote this July 15th I intend to vote against everone that I possibly can that is an incumbent school board member.

Careful though You have one newcomer that is running for the School Board That was partially responsible for raising $ 50,000 to get the last School Bond Passed (David Martinez) Yep he was so sucessful in getting the School Bond passed That he has now decided to run for the School Board, and Spend some of our money.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH NO NEW TAXES :angry2:

I'm confused why July 15. Is this a special election? I thought it would all be on the ballot when we vote for Pres. in November. I will absolutely vote NO this time on new school taxes even though I voted yes last time. Haven't been happy with the way the money has been spent after the last school bond was passed. They are building unnecessary buildings when we need the North Paulding High school completed, football field and every thing could be complete if they spent the money right. Cobb manages to open high schools with everything in place, including books I would imagine.

  3. On Monday, I report for jury duty. I've never been called before so I have no idea of what to expect, but I'm actually looking forward to it.

Has anyone has jury duty recently? If so, can you use your cellphone, blackberry, etc. while you are in the courthouse, but not in the actual courtroom (i.e., waiting in the jury room)? Also, do you know what time the day usually ends? I'm trying to get my ducks in a row here at the office and decide if I can come to the office after I get off of jury duty or not-- just trying to plan ahead... Poor hubby gets the fortunate task of driving the princess to daycare in Midtown and then driving on to work in Kennesaw (and then do the reverse on the way home). If I get picked, next week is going to blow for him.

ETA: I have no idea why this posted twice...

I didn't read the other peoples posts so sorry if I am duplicating any info. I was in Jury duty a couple of weeks ago. We waited upstairs in a courtroom until around 10:30 while the judge & Lawyers were deciding which cases to try first & most were actually resolved by people pleading guilty or by other means on Monday before they started choosing the jury. Around 10:30 we were called downstairs (around 60 of us) & they started choosing a jury for a case starting on Wed., they pulled up 40 people to the front of the room & started asking various questions, ie. state your name, what area you live in, what you do for a living & what your spouse does for a living. They asked about 20 other questions of those potential juriors because it was a child molestation case they were being through. We broke for lunch around 1:30 & then we came back & they continued to make the chose of who would be on the jury for that case. Around 4pm they started selecting juriors for the 2nd case which started on Tuesday & I was selected to be on that case, we went home monday nite around 6:30. Tuesday we had to be there at 9:00 & we heard the evidence, broke for lunch around 1:00, heard more evidence, we started to deliberate around 4:30, reached a decision around 6:00 & were able to go home & we did not have to report back the rest of the week. We were able to have cell phones except during debiteration they take all cell phone & books or magazines from you & out of the room.

This is happening every where. One of my neighbors had golf clubs stolen out of their garage. Whoever they were they just took the clubs, but not the bag that they were in. I would guess the same teens that like to smash mail boxes in the neighborhood.

I hate that for the residents. I also know its no fun for the life guard. My son had to close, clean & shock a pool & for that very reason on Sunday. The kid that pooped in the pools parent yanked him out of the water & left as fast as they could without saying anything. It was another lady that told my son what had happened because the poop was in a corner of the pool where he didn't realize it was poop to begin with.

  6. I have a Hoover Floor Mate that rocks!

I also have a hoover & really like it because you can use it on any floor, hard woods included. On hard woods you just have to buy the hard wood floor cleaner instead of the cleaner you would use one tile or other surfaces.

  7. My son is graduating from EPHS this Sat. He has spent 4 great years there and so his dad and I have come to love the school as well. My daughter is 14 and will attend NPHS next year. So as we say goodbye to EPHS.. here are some things I will miss:

*Probably the MOST spirited student body around!

*Great teachers ( my son has been very lucky in that dept)

    *An awesome football team

    *a trip to the Dome!

    *an undefeated season !

*One of the BEST high school bands in the state!

    *Drama performances !

*That crazy cannon going off every time we scored !(even though it darn near made me wet my pants each time it went off)

*... and the big E P H S flags for the same reason.

*Raider Lake (yep...even that parking lot crater !)

    *Black out games !

*the students we lost..... (RIP Rihanna) :(

... those are just a few. We love you EPHS. :yahoo:

I have 2 more years but will miss East for all the same reasons when my student graduates. I also have a younger one that will go to NPHS & don't know if they can hold a stick to the excitement of EPHS football games w/ the flags, the football helment & the fog our players run thru & the band playing Back in Black. Hope this next season is a great as the last 2 & we get to hear that cannon, OFTEN.

  8. Yeah, well at least some of your kids got their pics in the yearbook. What I'd like to know is WHEN are they going to put the SOCCER teams in the book? Seems like with a season that starts in early February, we'd be able to get a few pics of at least the first few games in there. <_<

ETA: The yearbook "teacher" (don't know her name) told us earlier this year that ALL spring sports would be in the yearbook. Looks like it didn't turn out that way. Again.

My daughters Middle School (McClure) has soccer pics included, seems like the high schools could get them in also. We have an EPHS yearbook & it looks great, but there are a few changes I wish they would make. I looked at my yearbook from many moons ago & the cheerleaders had individual pics w/ their name under the pic. & not just snap shots. The band had about 4 pages W/ a formal band pic. an individual pic of the Drum Major with his/her name under it along with some snap shots of the band. The way East does it you could be a cheerleader or in band & not have your pic. on that activity page, just a bunch of snap shots. Other wise its great, huge with high quailty paper, all color pics.

  9. Not sure what to say on this one.

My dog barks at times a bit too much, but I quiet them down and investigate the reason for the barking.

    ________________________________________________________________________________

    ___________

    Slightly off topic....

Now .... My neighbors do have dogs the roam the neigborhood and love to leave their large markings around.

(I am ready for animal control to pick them up>>Dogs)

Had one dog corner some young teenage girls yesterday and I had to chase the dog off with an umbrella.

(It is time to move... Neighborhood going to crapper)

I also quiet my dog when she barks, all I have to do is open the door most of the time & she stops, sometimes I have to fuss at her. As far as roaming we have a fence & I would never allow her to go into someone elses yard.

As for the peanut butter being thrown into our yard, our son asked if when their kids are outside running around and screaming could we throw candy over the fence, of course I told him NO.

  10.

I would like any advice on bark collars. Which ones work or don't work & the pros & cons. I have also looked at some dog silencers that use high pitched tones to make a dog stop barking. I am also concerned that the bark collar could shock my dog when my neighbors dog is barking. I really am clueless about them.

My dog seems to like to bark when we are away from home. We rarely hear her barking when we are here, & I do listen for her because I don't want her to be a problem. When ever she barks & we are not home my neighbor will throw a jar a peanut butter over the fence for her to eat so that she won't bark & she can only eat so much peanut butter. There are dogs all around us that I hear bark all the time, it seems our one neighbor a low tolerance for ours.

  11. Best family beach I could recommend would be Gulf Shores/Orange beach in Alabama.

Another great one with great summer rates because winter is their peak season is the beaches from Clearwater to St. Pete beach. Last year we stayed on Treasure Island at Lands end condos. The kids loved it because there was the beach with white sand on one side and a large inlet on the other where they could fish or find great shells. If you go there Capalbos rentals is the best to rent from they only charge a deposit & you pay the rest upon arrival. The other condo rental agencys want the entire amount about a mth. before your arrival date.

  12. Been on a few. which cruise line & where are you goingon? One of the best things we did for our 2nd cruise was to tie brightly colored yarn or ribbon on all yours bags so we could easily identify them. They all look the same when you get off the ship at the end of the cruise. luggage is in 1 large area acording to which floor of the ship you were on. Even though they divide it by floor it is still easy to leave a bag behind, which we did our 1st cruise.

Our Dr. told us that babies don't develope the proper amt. of enzymes needed to break down the lactose in milk until they are around 12 mths old. We used formula until they were one year old & switched to whole milk for a year, then went to 2% by the time they were 3 or 4 they were drinking skim milk.

  14. I was just thinking----------Brian said they baptized 132 people 2 Sundays ago.

I wonder if that is some sort of record.

    Does anybody know?

132 is a very large number considering the baptism was not planned. I was in the 2nd service when he said we have 300 pairs of shorts & shirts for people to wear that wanted to be baptized. I was over joyed and amazed at the number of people that went up to be baptized. It may or may not be a record, a lot of students get baptized when they return from middle/high school camp.

  15. I currently live in Seven Hills, so I will tell you what I think. I do not smell any odor coming from a landfill. I do occasionally hear gun shots, but not often. I really like the atmosphere in the subdivision and we live in a Craftsman style home that is was built by Jeremy Rutenburg. My husband is a builder and we both felt that he gives the most for the money in a lot of ways. I wanted to look around a little bit more, I even was interested in moving to Cobb. My husband just loves it here and so this is where we ended up. The only thing that I don't like in my subdivision is the people. I don't know what most of them are thinking, but some of them act like they think they live in the Hamptons  This is a decent sub for Paulding, but come on. I really don't relate to them at all. I have lived and traveled all over the US and I just seem to have more of an open mind. I feel a little lonely here because I just don't seem to fit in, nor do I want to :p Just my two cents.

Bentwater is the same way. I was talking with one of my neighbors & realized that someone else other than me had the same opinion about our neighborhood. Some of the kids are so spoiled I don't know how they will ever make enough money when they get out on their on to buy enough STUFF to make themselves happy.

  16. Does anyone know where we can recycle glass in Paulding. I figure they might have a place at the dump, but I don't want to drive all the way out there unless I know for sure.

We take our glass, plastic, magazines, newspapers, etc to the county dump. They have a recycle program. Actually they say that they need all the plastic that they can get because the carpet companies call them wanting the plastic.

  17. I am sooooo excited! I'm going to see Jon Reep. Anyone else going?

He's the 'Hemi Guy'........also the winner of Last Comic Standing.

He is SO dang FUNNY!

You forgot to invite me!! Just kidding. I have not been to a comedy club in around 16 yrs. Last time I went Brett Butler's little sister was married to one of my husbands friends & she got us in free.
