  1. Thanks that's another area we've looked at -

I'm traveling with four kids - 3, 5, 6, 13 (at least that'll be their ages when we travel) trying to find something "kid" friendly but not too expensive :)

If you google st. pete & clearwater beaches you will get alot of info. We like the Maderia beach or treasure island beaches located between st. pete & clearwater. There is a shopping/boat dock area between maderia beach & treasure island called Johns Pass that has resturants & shopping & the pelicans will let you walk right up to them. I've had a lot of luck finding condos I like at Lands End Condos. Try Capabalos rentals, they only required us to pay a deposit to book a condo, but some of the rental agencys wanted it all up front before we arrived.

  2. I know that the clearwater/st. pete beaches are not in the location you are talking about, but you can get great rates on Condos in that area during the summer because the winter is their peak season. It is the same if not nicer white sand on the gulf side & the drive straight down 75 takes about the same amount of time as going to Destin. Also, we went to a tampa bay game & to Bush Gardens.

  3. Jiff here too

We usually only use Jiff, but someone had given us some Peter Pan as a gag gift for christmas. We had used about 1/4 of the jar & guess what the numbers on the jar began w/ 2111. I was at Walmart today to buy another jar to replace the one I threw away & they had Jars that began w/ 2111, so check before ya buy.

  4. Whatzup? It would be crazy if it was the same guy. He was a white male in his mid 30's early 40's.

The email we got described the guy as being in his late 20's with a crew cut. He went to a house banged on the door & demanded to be let inside, got very upset when she didn't let him in, jumped in his truck & left driving thru her yard. The lady found out after calling the SO that 3 other people had called with the exact same incident happening to them. Strange, he was also driving a truck with the same description.

  5. If you live in the Northern part of the county there is a lady that has a boarding facility on her property in Acworth. Its called The Pets Place & the # is 770-974-0370. We plan to use her over winter break, so far we have used her 3 times & shes been great. Last time our dog stayed w/ her it was $18.00 per day. The dog has about a 4ft area to run around in inside the kennel & 4ft outside, the dog can go in & out as she wants. Also a couple of times a day the lady lets your dog out into a fenced in area to run around. I visited other boarders where the dog was crated up too long & I couldn't stand the thought of that.

  6. Cleburne County HS

    Heflin, AL

    (yes, I am OLD!!!!)

One of those you attend from 7th - 12th and have the same principle, ass't principle and teachers from beginning to end!

I went there also, class of 81. Was Mr. Montgomery assistant principal when you were there?

  7. I've been told that if you keep your dog in all the time, rather that spending 1/2 time inside & 1/2 time outside that they won't shed near as bad. It is the temp. change that causes the shedding, at least thats what I've heard. My is shedding badly as well & she spends about 1/2 the day outside, we bring her in alot during the winter to keep her out of the cold & I think the heat inside causes her shedding problem.

  8. Today while out shopping I was given in change a dollar bill with The Famous "Lucky Bunny Bill" stamped on it. Also, there is a cute bunny stamped on the front & on the back is the bunnies back side. There is also a stamp that says track me at www.wheresgeorge.com. You can go to the website and track where your dollar has been & after you spend it you can check back to see where else it ends up. I had heard of this before but this is the first time I have seen one of the bills.

  9. Conversations like this thread is what causes this group to be ridiculed and not taken seriously!!! Get with the 21st century folks. Community groups like the Cedarcrest folks exist in every metro Atlanta county and are no different than Civitan, Rotary or the Builders Association. It is a group of people with the same common goals. Their goals appear to be roads (probably Cedarcrest) and schools (having more of them) and a few other things that will make their community better. The goal of any group could be to promote building, promote square dancing or promote community service. They don't have to invite everyone to join them if they don't want to. They are not subject to the Georgia Open Meetings act. They are perfectly legal. They are common in other counties. They are generally considered positive influences in other locations.

Y'all have two options as I see it.

You could learn from what these folks have done in a short time and get yourselves a group. You could be reasonable and willing to listen instead of always assumming their is an ulterior motive. You could present ideas and insert yourself into the process. That is the way you improve things for not just yourselves but for the entire community.

You could just continue to post away and whine and complain some more.

Good post PDR. I believe that this meeting was open to everyone. The first meeting they handed out as many fliers as they could to make people aware of the meeting. I know the 1st & the last meeting was mentioned & talked about on P.com, so next time people show up.

  10. Does anyone know how much it cost the CCAG committee to rent Shelton's Gym? I have requested this information from Trudy and have not gotten any response. <_<

Seems like I remember them discussing the cost of renting the school facilities at a BOE meeting, but I don't remember the amt. It should be on their website somewhere. Maybe if you looked in the meeting archives.

  11. Magic Peach Cobbler

This one always turns out great & is easy.

1 stick of butter melted in a baking dish.

1cup self rising flour & 1 cup of sugar sifted together & blend with a cup of milk or water ( water if you want the crust crisper). I use milk unless I'm almost out.

    Pour mixture over melted butter.

Spread peaches over the mixture (use 1 lg. size can or or 2 small). If it is in syurp I pour syurp & all in, if juice I drain the juice before adding to the mixture.

Mix 1/2 cup of sugar w/ 1 tsp cinnamon & sprinkle on the top. The crust will rise while cooking & it is great w/ the cinnamon.

    cook 350 for 1hr.

  12. I've had my kirby serviced at cornerstone in D'ville ( in target shop center), they may have one. Also, there is a vac. place at 92 & macland rd.

Trust me you can't break it, I've tried many different ways & I've had it for 15yrs.

  13. I understand that there is a resturant at one of the universal studio resorts in Orlando that when you are seated they take your drink order & the kids go to a kids buffet & fix their plates and start eating. Then your order is taken & by the time you get your food your kids are finished eating & head off to a desert room for kids. It is glass so you can see them, they eat their desert, color & do other activities so you can eat is peace.

I've always heard that it is a good idea anyway to tell the waiter to go ahead & bring your kids meals if they are ready before yours. That way they can eat & be occupied. The kids can have desert while you are eating your dinner. That way they will be eating almost the entire time & not have as much free time to be bored & be loud.
