The bill passed the Senate however, the non-profits got screwed. They can't start selling until 2016. The first year only the corporations can sell because you have to have a store front. I pleaded with our Senator ( Heath) and he said there was nothing he could do. Just for those of you that don't know the tents you see during the 4th are run by non-profits. Many of them are churches, and booster clubs trying to raise money. This year those organizations will suffer because they can't sell them out of tents. I have been following this bill and can't believe that no-one cares about the

Who is your favorite local highschool football team ?
mancfan replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I am an East fan. However, I went to the PCHS homecoming game last year with my husband since he graduated from PCHS. We had a great time. Long before my son played in the east program we were Raider fans. THe games are a blast and I can't say enough about their band. The EPHS band is one of the best I have ever heard. They help to make the games fun. Friday night football is the best. You are watching kids play a sport they love and they don't get paid for it. Raiders are on their way back to the top this year! This season is going to be one to watch. -
Trying to keep this bumped up to the top of the forum.

Whether I agree with you or not is a moot point. The booster club membership voted to sign the new loan and meet our obligation. The details of this are a matter of public record via our meeting minutes. The building issue has been put to bed. We are moving forward and rebuilding the program. The purpose of the go fund account was to allow individuals to donate to the organization. We have clearly outlined where the money will go and how it will be spent. All I ask is that we end the conversation regarding the building and move forward instead of back. We are looking forward to an exci

Thank you Pubby. The Go Fund Me Account has been approved by the school Principal. Yes it is legal and we are a 501c3 so any donations are tax deductible. As Pubby posted above the money is going to improve our equipment, help players that can't afford to play and yes monies will be used to help us pay off the field house debit. The more money we can throw at the loan the better off the program will be. However, the money will first be used to support the players and provide them with updated equipment. The last thing we will use the money for is the loan. If anyone has question please feel fr

It has to pass the Senate and then be signed. I am very excited since it is Non-profits that sell the fireworks. That means we can raise more money.

There is a bill in the GA house allowing the sale of class C fireworks in GA. Currently we can only sell sparklers. I am in favor of the bill. Currently most of the firework sales in GA are sold by non-profits as fundraisers. I think this bill would allow the non-profits to make more money. People are buying the illegal fireworks across the state lines anyway. Why not make the tax revenue here in GA?

Theresa Lyons at Platinum Salon. She and her daughter do wonderful work.

Cook County. He is a paulding county graduate. So he is a hometown boy.

It was made official yesterday that Jon Lindsey is EPHS’s new football coach. I am very excited about the upcoming season and look forward to a fresh start for east.

Goddard is no longer the coach. He was let go. They are searching for a new coach.
-
It is Coach Goddard

According to the booster club board and Dr. Fraker yes they had a meeting. There is a lot of communication going back and forth.
-
I wonder if the school would let them open a new booster club? I don't think it is that easy.

I like your quote. No-one really knows all the details about the bankruptcy. I hate the fact that our players have to read about how their coach sucks and they suck, That isn't fair. This original post wasn't about our coach or the players. I suggest we keep it that way. The east program needs a complete overhaul and it needs to start with parents attitudes. We need to focus on our players and support them win or lose.
-
@gog8tors I agree with you. I love East and I love our boys but you are correct. We need a change in attitudes at East. We need a winning attitude.

Someone needs to contact the media.

I know one of the people is also on the school board. I believe those are the same people. The school board attorney is on the board for the bank so is one of the school board members. The president of the bank is the one who spoke at our meeting. This just keeps getting better and better. Smell something rotten????
-
I believe they are incorporated and I don't know. At the meeting they said they don't have any assets other than some jr raider football equipment. They don't even has an interest in the field house, their name isn't on the deed. The field house is soley owned by the school. The booster club just has to pay for it.
-
The loan is on a 5 year balloon with 390,000 due now. I agree we need more fans, money and support. According to our booster club the school board paid what they were going to pay. They are done. Keep in mind the loan isn't secured to the building. What secures the loan is the booster clubs assets. So the school has nothing to lose. It is the bank that loses. I believe in doing the right thing but it wasn’t done from the start. Why should generations of players and parents have to pay for this? I feel sorry for everyone involved. The ones who will suffer are the boys.

Paulding Football Games - Friday, October 17th
mancfan replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
@millcreek, I agree with you that South and Paulding have made great strides. I am happy to see other teams having success. I think it is awful that East is having so many issues but we shouldn't bring down any other teams in the process. Everyone needs to remember that East was a powerhouse when South and North were new schools and hadn't built a program yet. Every school goes through a rebuilding phase. East will rise to the top again. I don’t want to comment about the coach out of respect for the players that might read this. -

I was a big supporter of Coach Goddard because I believed he wasn’t given a chance when he first got to East. I personally think Coach Goddard is a nice guy, but….I don’t believe he is the right fit for us. Our team is not conditioned, undisciplined and not a team. With the talent we have on the team we shouldn’t be in the situation we are in. I do believe that all the other schools we use to beat have gotten better. That is a normal progression. However, we shouldn’t have lost some many games this year. There is a failure to adjust, a failure to change our game plan and a failure to exe -
Tonight might be a wet one! Who is ready for the games? Region positions are on the line tonight. Will Allatoona remain undefeated? Who will win the battle between East and Paulding? Will South beat Alexander? It appears Hiram will win tonight based on who they are playing. Thoughts?
