Police who do the best job policing themselves, do the best job policing others. The only reason there should be a blue code of silence is after a police officer blows the whistle on bad policing. In other words don't treat whistle blowers like they have done wrong, but instead uphold the good policing they are saying didn't happen.

People in uniform signify a higher degree of character. When their characteristics are more apt to exacerbate a confrontation, they should not wear the uniform of a puiblic protector and server.

Why is it necessary to turn those cameras off and on? Security cameras stay on all the time, unless they need maintenance. It seems to me that a cops body cam should be the first thing he/she attach to themselves, and make sure it's turned on, every shift change.

The cops had to say something, because they knew that they had turned off their cameras. That is the way they cover their exacerbation technique. They save a lot of money when they just go ahead and be the judge, the jury, and the executioner.
