Marietta Diner!!
OMG, it's so good and SO much food!
We've been a couple of times the last few years. And we talked about going this year, but I would really like to cook this year.

We're on the projectory to being Clayton Co. 2.0 based on our housing stock, airport expansion seals the deal as far as I am concerned....
Someone on here made that statement a few years back when Sherrin and his gang were stripping the county of any potential commercial property.

Prayers for the family and friends.

I see Clark's all the time at wrecks. Are you saying the service they provide is not good?

I was just reading about Tara Drummond Park about an hour ago. I want to take my grandson there one afternoon.

Anybody that post negatively about Sam Clark has an agenda.
Here we go again
Just seems a little odd to be the first post and it be almost a trouble making post. Since the last guy that was posting all the trash about Clark's got ragged on so much, would not surprise me at all for him to change his name or have a buddy start it all over again.
If the post was not meant to stir trouble, I sincerely apologize.
If it is meant to stir the pot--then shame on them.
That's what I was thinking. New name, same story.

I agree 110%!! I miss the RT salad of "old".
OMGOSH ~ YES it was!!! About 35 years ago we would drive from Heflin, AL to Birmingham, AL just to eat at Steak and Ale. The BEST salad bar EVER. And, the prime rib was !!
ME TOO!! Still get one when go to the Sonny's on Cobb Pkwy.
As far as the Hickory Hut....when we moved here in 1996 we heard SOOOOO much about this place. Went one time....the LAST time, too!!!
YES it is........IF it is fresh!!! And, that is hit and miss. I've had it several times with their new Wedge Salad and it was good. On the contrary I've gotten it several times when it was SO salty I couldn't eat it. The high sodium means it has been sitting a day or two.
THANKS for everyone's input and I will definitely keep it in mind.
And, when I want a Greek Salad I will try either Mellow Mushroom or Olive Tree. The BEST I've ever had was at Mata's Greek Pizza and Grinders in Anniston, AL. The salad with their supreme pizza is to die for and always on the agenda when we go "home".
I suggest the greek salad from Mellow Mushroom, you get a lot more and the dressing is homemade.
The Olive Tree is so-so and small and the dressing is watered down. I haven't been there in over a year because it's overpriced and the portions are small and just not that good.
AND I did put some Monterey Jack on the salad with a combo of ranch and Russian dressing. YUMM

Greek salad at Mellow Mushroom. Doesn't beat the one at Marietta Diner, but it's a lot closer!
...
It is good, I get one when I get a pizza there.
But I would really love to have a great salad place, a build your own.....and NOT Ruby Tuesday. Their salad bar is nothing like it was 10 years ago.
Anybody remember Steak and Ale in Smyrna? Now THAT was a salad bar with wonderful fresh baked bread!

Gawd, now I'm hungry.
I might have to go fix a salad, and yes I have the stuff with real lettuce (not out of a bag) MY tomatoes, MY cucumber and MY peppers. Some radishes and pickled beets and a little cottage cheese.
BRB.

Restaurants open on Thanksgiving?

I don't think the Diner takes reservations, but the Blue Willow used to. We went there one Thanksgiving and it was wonderful. It's just a long drive and after that much food, all I want to do is take a nap.
I just looked on the Blue Willow website and it says they take reservations.
