This isn't about drugs, it's about Due Process, it's about seizing someone's property without ever accusing them of a crime or having to prove they even committed a crime in the first place. Knowing that your victim hasn't the resources to defend themselves in a court of law. It's about a government that's gotten out of control.

I have heard people describe the IRS as an agency that has the power to take your property at the point of a gun. Here we have a literal and true example of that. This should make every American's blood boil regardless of what side of the aisle they sit.

Civil Forfeiture remains a hot topic in the news or How America takes another step in becoming a "Banana Republic"....... How cops take millions from motorists not charged with crimes John Yoder and Brad Cates, who headed the Asset Forfeiture Office at the U.S. Department of Justice from 1983 to 1989, slammed civil forfeiture as a “complete corruption” and “fundamentally at odds with our judicial system and notions of fairness,” This federal civil forfeiture program lets local and state law enforcement literally make a federal case out of a seizure, if they collaborate with a federal

Really ?..... Oil Leak Is Latest Mishap for Alaska’s Troubled Pipelines by Marian Wang ProPublica, Jan. 10, 2011, 2:53 p.m. Almost all oil production on Alaska’s North Slope remains shut down after workers on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline system discovered a leak over the weekend. BP, the pipeline company’s largest single owner, has called it a “significant event.” BP is no stranger to pipeline problems in Alaska. The pipeline system has had a long history of maintenance problems and worker safety complaints. In 2006, two spills from corroded pipes in Alaska placed the company's mainte

Canada may end up doing what they should done all along keep their pipelines in their own country. Keystone Be Darned: Canada Finds a Surprise Pipeline Route -- a crazy-sounding notion, or maybe, actually, an epiphany. How about an all-Canadian route to liberate that oil sands crude from Alberta's isolation ... Instead, go east, all the way to the Atlantic http://finance.yahoo.com/news/keystone-darned-canada-finds-oil-020000251.html

Democracy's are fine for most people unless you live in an area where religious rivals and competing tribes have existed for centuries. The entire Middle East is one of those places. Compound that by outside colonizing countries drawing arbitrary artificial national borders and Super Powers trying to ram their form of government down their throats and things are bound to go wrong. Compared to the mess we see today Assad, Mubarak and Hussain are looking better and better everyday. At least under their ruthless grip few dared to challenge their power.

Negotiations are going on as we speak what would you suggest we go to war with another Middle Eastern country and toppal yet another government ? And as far as Israel is concerned their only act would come with the approval of the United States and our guarantee of their defence. Make no mistake Iran is no Lebanon or another Palestine. -

Iran has been enriching uranium since before the Bush administration you can hardly blame Obama for "letting Iran" do anything. -

No American President in office would have stood idly by and allowed a hostile nation to install nuclear weapons 80 miles off the coast of the United States. -

I can hardly see the comparison between the Johnson ad and man that was brutally murdered just months ago. Is there no respect for his family who I'm sure are still grieving his loss. On the other hand given the Republican response to everything there was and still is a lot of wisdom in the Johnson ad. -
Is nothing off limits in the rush for political office ?...... Disgusting. WASHINGTON (AP) — A House Republican candidate is using video footage moments before the beheading of American James Foley in a campaign ad slamming Arizona Democratic Rep. Kyrsten Sinema as weak on national security. http://news.yahoo.com/house-gop-candidate-uses-beheading-video-ad-210212127--election.html

Unlike you stradial I don't hold on to the idea that we still live in a land called Mayberry and cling to the notion that the powers that be are like Robert Young in Father Knows Best and even though my life maybe nearing it's end I am still disturbed by injustice and the loss of the rights and freedoms that men have fought and died for over the history of this nation.
