Is racism really still a problem in America?

Have you seen them protest following a black on black homicide? No. Have you seen them protest after a cop kills a black man? Yes. I rest my case. -

Prove he saved 100's of thousands of lives because of Obamacare. That's like saying GD saved 100's of thousands of lives today because he farted in the bathroom rather than in public. Provide one news story where BLM held a protest against black on black crime. -

People in NYC to include Queens and Manhattan have a history of supporting Democratic candidates. Your stats mean jack squat. -
Do you stand for our veterans? or the kneelers?

It pissed me off when that quarterback started it last year and then a few other NFL players joined in on the kneeling. -

Impassable roads and truck drivers not showing up will make it difficult to deliver supplies. Perhaps you should listen to what the PR's governor has to say rather than the San Juan mayor who claims she has been spending her time picking up dead bodies. BTW, it was obvious she had food supplies in her city as they could be seen behind her when she gave her press conference stating supplies were not being received. She must be dumb as a rock if she can't figure out how to establish distribution centers within her own city. -

All the while, the governor of Puerto Rico gives different accounts than that of the San Juan mayor of how the federal government is responding. -

The problem is, if this trend of shooting police officers continues to increase; you will start seeing police officers leaving because they will begin to feel it's just not worth the increasing risks. If you think it's because they're cowards TP, you're wrong. Most of these men and women have spouses and children who are most likely a bigger priority to them than the public's safety. Can you blame them for making their families their top priority? -

You have to understand, that if this had occurred during the Obama administration and the exact efforts were being made that are being made now, the left would be supporting that. Pubby knows damn well it would have been irresponsible of the military to stage military assets on the ground in Puerto Rico or near it before the hurricane hit. Heck, for that matter if this administration had done exactly as pubby suggests, and those assets had been destroyed, he would be calling for Trump's head for making such a bonehead decision. Pubby feels the need to make everything anti-Republican. -

Here are the questions used in that survey to determine the scores: In general, do you think that blacks have as good a chance as whites in your community to get any kind of job for which they are qualified, or don't you think they have as good a chance? In general, do you think that black children have as good a chance as white children in your community to get a good education, or don't you think they have as good a chance? Again, in general, do you think that blacks have as good a chance as whites in your community to get any housing they can afford, or don't you think they have as goo -

Excellent comment. The problem with racism today is the left has decided to say and do things to make it worse so it will fit their political agenda. We have come a long way since the civil rights movement and now it's the rhetoric and the actions from the left that's trying create racial division in this country. -
Is racism really still a problem in America?

I don't deny racism exists. I don't think it's near the problem it was 50 years ago. With that said, racism isn't limited to those whites who hate others because of the color of their skin. It also exist with those of color who hate others because of the color of their skin as well. I have met many people of color who hated all Asians or white people. Hell, I've met black people who hated anyone who wasn't black. I would much rather see citizens of this country refer to themselves as Americans than the color of their skin or genealogy. -

I don't think what she brought up is a red herring at all. Murder is the ultimate form of oppression as it ends a persons life and causes suffering for the victim's family. It takes a spouse away from spouse and family. Children grow up without a mother or father; parents lose a child; all because of murder. More blacks are murdered in Chicago than any other city in the country, and the overwhelming majority of those victims were murdered by other blacks. The number of black on black murders in Chicago alone far exceed the number of blacks killed by white police officers in this coun

What good is resulting from NFL players kneeling during the National anthem? You think comparing this to Rosa Parks sitting at the front the bus is apples to apples? More like comparing grapes to grape fruits. Blacks at one time were relegated to sitting in the back of the bus. Rosa defied racism by sitting down in the front of the bus. Now that was a real statement that united a lot of people both black and white against racism. What message of protest is being made by NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem? What is it uniting? What you see is more division being the

There's a time and place for any kind of protest, but taking a knee or sitting down while the national anthem is being played is not one of them.
-
Let me put it to you this way; I can remember ever since I was a kid how the players stood up along the sidelines for the national anthem at every game. They showed the flag and the anthem the respect both deserved. In the information you brought into the discussion is referring to advertising not paying teams to have their players stand during the playing of the national anthem.
-
The NFL rule is and always has been that the players are supposed to be on the field for the national anthem. The rule also states they are to stand holding their helmet in their left hand and with their right hand over their heart. They rule also states they are not to talk during the national anthem. I can remember when all players stood this way on the sidelines during the playing of the national anthem.
-
That is very true and I'm impressed you are so observant. Many of those professional people of color are also Republicans. Were you aware of that?
-
Those NFL players who played in London the other night and took a knee during our national anthem and then stood for the British anthem, demonstrated just how ignorant they are. They kneel in protest because they feel our flag an anthem represents oppression, but have they taken a look at the history of the UK? At one time the UK colonized much of the world and how did they treat the people of those countries?

I used to buy my kid's toys there. At that time, there was a very good selection of toys and the prices were reasonable. I went there a couple of times after having grandchildren and found the selection very poor, the stores to be dirty, and the prices to be too expensive.
