OMG They're BBQing In The Park. They Might Hurt The Children.

Very interesting pov. But at the risk of an uneven hand kicking this post out, I will disagree that this topic ever gets discussed (in a meaningful way) without addressing the socio-political aspects. Academia? Boardrooms? How relevant are they to this forum? This forum is neither a classroom nor a boardroom. Maybe it would help if you could define "political," at least for this thread. For example, if some well-thought out replies to this thread topic that you allowed (which by the way, once again - by its very nature is political due to being divided into states since states are run by g

How can anyone addresss the "high poverty rate" (btw, not sure if I trust the statistics from that spam-riddled site you linked), without having a (very likely heated) socio-POLITICAL discussion? IF you really are looking for nuts & bolts cause/effect HONEST replies to your topic question from a diversely opinionated and knowledgeable group here? Not that I want to get sucked in because I don't. But I find it weird that a socio-political topic can be started but socio-political replies get thrown out because they're "political."

There are 3 roaming around the Cathy Lane area. All males, black with white. When I saw them their tongues were hanging to the ground, so I got them some water. Wish I could keep them. They're currently in one of the neigbor's yard on Cathy Lane. I pray someone didn't dump these cool pups. If you're missing them come by Cathy Lane in Hiram. I'm going out but will check back later.

Ah...the aforementioned one-and-only, tasty-toned & tremendously tempo'd; punctually in-the-pocket; up tight, outtasight, and in-the-groove GROOVESTER himself...ladies and gents, please give a warm welcome to < drumroll, please >...BACKBEAT BRUCE!! (drummer from The Sweetwater Band). Looks like BruceIsHere and this is his first post. If anyone needs a good, fun band, PM him. And chances are Subby could be sitting in. (And sorry I was late getting back to my own thread... )

Last night after a Xmas party, we went to catch The Sweetwater Band, whom I'm friends with the drummer (Bruce), and this really good keyboard player was sitting in with them laying down some really good honky tonk piano stuff. That's the first time I've seen them with a keyboard player. While they were on break I made a comment to Bruce how much color this guy added to the band and he agreed, but told me he was just sitting in because he is in a regular band. I didn't think much about it until he (Bruce) said his main band is Simply Southern. So something clicked and I remembered reading here

Anyone know of a motorcycle accident yesterday; fatality?
Ed Head replied to MissSophie's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Was that accident at Jimmy Lee Smith near the turn-off to Buseness 6 (but opposite side)? We were running errands yesterday and drove by it twice. The mangled motorcycle was disheartening to say the least. Could not find a story on it. Appreciate the info from the good folks here. May she rest in peace and may God bless the grieving family. -
As someone who travels for a living, it's great to know CFA is in most cities I go to. I especially love their Tortilla soup when it's in season. Since I work in field service, and have since the '80s, I've seen the ebbs and flows of customer service go up and down...mostly down, with the exception a few great companies Like CFA. I would suggest that ALL companies could take a few tips from Mr. Cathy. The market experience would improve tremendously.

I feel so...ashamed... ...not This isn't a prank that they "had no idea that it would go so terribly wrong." This is pre-planned, pre-meditated vandalism to the school. The truth is, they "had no idea they would get caught."

I know this thread is a couple months old but I'd like to know if anyone has any more updates about Olive Garden in Hiram. I've been rather looking forward to a major player coming in since Carino's closed. We do love the Olive Tree also, in part due to the Greek component and the family atmosphere, but we feel there's a lack of good pasta places in Hiram. Regarding The Olive Tree (as has been mentioned), the Villa Rica location is great also. We haven't determined one to be better than the other. A bit different, yes, but we like them both. For us, it's the people that make the OT gre

I wonder who the brainiac of that crowd was. The fact that the kids lack the creativity to pull a better senior prank is probably just a symptom of a bigger societal problem, what I like to call the social retardation of youth. When kids can't even look you (or eachother!) in the eye and have conversation that doesn't involve smacking thumbs against a small thin box, there is something lacking, and it leaves us fogies dumbfounded because we were brought up much differently. I blame the kids for the crimes but I don't fully blame them for being socially absent in the head; dare I say too m

Sorry for this bit of side track, but about a week and a half ago I was coming home on 278. I was around the Lithia Springs area when I was behind a driver weaving all over the road in his truck. I thought at first maybe he was texting and would correct himself but after a long while of doing this and almost killing himself and others I determined he was drunk as a skunk and I called 911 to report him - to get him off the road. They asked me to stay with him and they kept me on the phone until they could pick him up. I went all through Powder Springs and finally into Hiram where I was switched

We just found out our auto insurance is not $100 deductible for windshield replacement like it had been in the past. Somewhere along the way it changed...or WE changed it, not sure. But we now have $500 deductible. Anyway, we need to replace a cracked windshield and we found one company that says they will come to my g/f's place of employment in ATL and do the replacement for $165 which seems pretty dang good to me (maybe TOO good?) but we don't know anyone who's done business with them. Would appreciate any recommendations for good workmanship and reasonable price, please & thanks! PS

If you like Irish music and Irish food, Kevin Barry's Irish Pub (on River Street) is a must-do. They also have killer Low Country Boil. And they pour a mean Guiness.

Sincere and heartfelt condolences to Kelly's family. You all will remain in our prayers. May your grief be lessened every time you remember his smile! If I may speak for the Buffalo's crowd of football fans and golfers, we are a tearful lot, but we know we are better for having known Kelly. May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be ever at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face And the rain fall softly on your fields And until we meet again, Kelly, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand God bless
