  1. OH MY GOODNESS!! FINALLY....someone that I can agree with! EVERYbody I know just looovvveeesss the 80's. Heck, even my KIDS listen to 80's music! That entire decade needs to stay in the shadows, in my opinion! hahaha
  2. The young man in the red car with the front end basically gone...that is my neighbor's son!! He is banged up, but he's going to be ok. Don't know about the rest of the people. I hope everyone is ok.
  3. They really should make toilet paper with the image of the US Constitution on it...that's pretty much all it's good for anymore. I'm gonna start brushing up on my Chinese language skills...
  4. Did you find out what the police were in the neighborhood for?
  5. Well, personally...I LOVE the conspiracy nut-job as much as any other entertainment around!! Heck, if it weren't for the conspiracy communities online, somedays I'd have no entertaining reading at all! hahaa Now...add into the mix a licence to carry a weapon? well, I don't suppose it would be any worse(or better for that matter) having a bunch of armed "Cheerful" people who feel they have the right to impose and force their "cheerfulness" on society as a whole. Right? LOL Crazy comes in many many forms...
  6. Hey Caroline...I agree with you. And although this is called a "Formal"...it is nothing like Prom. They don't HAVE to wear formal wear...of course not. But, the kids get excited about the 8th Grade Dance and they like the idea of dressing up a bit. They have been doing these "Formals" for years now...and from the pictures I've seen, it is nothing more than khakis and dresses...and dancing and fun! We are not talking about renting tuxedos or anything! It is not anywhere NEAR the "hoopla" that Prom is...but the kids do get excited and those that want to dress up, go for it! Lucky for
  7. Oh and JBrigman...I didn't mean to ignore your question about a theme. We have the kids "voting" on a Theme...we've gotten anything from Masquerade to Alien Invasion to the current most popular...No Theme Formal!! lol The kids will have a fun time no matter what theme...if any...we ultimately decide to go with. Most important thing though.... BUY YOUR TICKETS!!!
  8. It is the principle's decision whether to sponsor a formal or not. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Bennett(and very very sad she's retiring from Moses) ... she just happens to think that this sort of dance is better left to high school. So, although they don't "DIS-allow" a formal...the school refuses to have any involvement in it at all. It is completely up to the parents and kids to promote, fund, and host the event!! I'm not sure what other schools do, but I know East Middle has a school hosted formal. It has not been easy organizing this event, but I'm sure the kids will have a blast!!
  9. Hello parents. If you have an 8th Grader that attends Moses Middle School...have you bought your ticket to the 8th Grade Formal yet?? The 8th Grade Formal for Moses is completely parent funded and organized. Some kids are waiting on the school to make an announcement about the Formal...this will NOT happen!! The Formal is not a school promoted function so it has been up to the KIDS to get word out so that tickets could be sold! I don't know about your 8th grader, but if left up to my son...I STILL wouldn't know about the formal! haha So, I decided to post the info here. I hope this
  10. No no...I wasn't implying that anyone was bragging at all. I just heard the cost mentioned as being $6k...and instantly I had to understand the program. lol It is just how I am...if I don't know how something works, I have to learn! It drives my friends nuts! So, your son went there...who paid for it? You or the school system? Edited to include this information: As I said, I am an alternative school graduate. I am quite introverted, wasn't into sports and HATED mainstream high school. My behavior was terrible, I was angry and had failing grades. Moved to the alternative school
  11. Right, I am looking over the website. Thanks for the link. Being a graduate of an alternative school myself (a few *cough 25 cough* years ago, haha) I am very curious as to how this program operates. When I heard the statement "It is going to cost the school system 6k per kid to send them to the alternative school"...I had so many question. How much does it already cost tax payers to send EACH kid to school?
  12. Thanks for responding. Good answer...good to know more. But, I have more questions. lol "Qualify" for what program? And who pays for that program? And how does one "qualify" for this program? What are the criteria? Ok, I'll be more direct in my reason for asking this question. The kids that were expelled from EPHS recently...some parents are commenting that it is costing the school system(AKA: the tax payers) $6,000 PER KID for them to attend the alternative school. NOW, my questions are these: Is the 6k figure the DIFFERENCE in what it would have cost tax payers to send eac
  13. Is Paulding County's alternative school PART of the Public School System? and...be gentle...this is my first time posting in here. lol
