IBA amendment tabled 'until the next meeting'
Jamie Gilbert replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page

Paulding County Economic Development in July 2012 had Georgia Tech which developed the LOCI Model for assessing the cost and benefits of economic development projects run an analysis of the Interroll project. The study is extremely conservative in estimating the financial impacts to the county only looking at revenue generated through taxes, some fees, etc. It does not take into account revenue enhancers such as multipliers (additional jobs outside the company that are created as a result of the project), spending by the company within the community or fa -
IBA amendment tabled 'until the next meeting'
Jamie Gilbert replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page

No that is not what I'm saying. They have a 90% property tax abatement against their taxes for 11 years. My information was to show that there is not $12 million in property taxes being abated. The most that could be generated under the millage rate shown is $1,773,658 or $161,241 annually. I believe pcfanatic may have been confusing the capital investment in the agreement which is up to $12 million in investment with the estimated taxes that would be abated. A $12 million project can only generate the tax amount I calculated unless the millage is increas -
IBA amendment tabled 'until the next meeting'

A $12,000,000 tax break for Interroll? The land, building and equipment investment originally projected for Interroll was $12,000,000 so perhaps that is the number you are thinking of. Regardless a $12 million project would generate total taxes of $1,773,658 over 11 years: $12 million x 40% assessment x .033592 mills x 11 years = $1,773,658 -
Aldi & Dollar Tree at Cedarcrest & Hwy. 381?
Jamie Gilbert replied to Boston Butt's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't know if an Aldi will be built but my family does all of our regular grocery shopping there each week and we love you their food and prices. We only go to Kroger for deli meats or ingredients Aldi doesn't carry. I hope a second one comes to Paulding. They are awesome! -
As you can imagine yesterday's Channel 2 Action News coverage of the Interroll facility has resulted in a new round of interest from job seekers. Interroll has provided me with updated contact information for those interested in employment opportunities with the company. Please refer to the link below. Pubby I can't get your picture uploader to work. Paulding Economic Development New on Channel 2 News
Jamie Gilbert replied to Jamie Gilbert's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Thanks Tundra. I think it really does a great job of promoting Paulding. For those that missed the broadcast here it is. http://www.wsbtv.com/videos/news/500-new-jobs-headed-to-paulding-county/vCR74x/ -
Correct.

The film studio is owned by the Paulding County Industrial Building Authority (IBA). There is no private ownership in the facility.

Yes, it does get somewhat confusing which is one of the reasons my organization was created in the first place. PCED was formed in the Fall of 2010 after a group of approximately 100 community leaders, businesses executives, elected officials and Georgia Tech's Enterprise Innovation Institute met for nearly 8 months looking at the best way to establish an economic development program for Paulding. The group wanted a single point of contact that would interface with prospective new businesses and existing industrial companies to create new jobs and investment in the county. They looked at succe

PCED has never had any financial investment in the film studio nor involvement in its operations.

They may still have a need for some office positions such as accounts payable and receivable, as well as some clerical positions. Most of the management positions were filled over the last two months. -

Yes. The building is completed and a limited amount of production has started. Here are two aerial photos of the building and Paulding Commerce Park. [quote name=NinaBr itt' timestamp='1388462928' post='3870250] Has construction started on this place? I haven't been down that way in a while. -

One of my all time favorite country songs. Having worked in a few small towns over the years I've seen the devastation caused by the Wal Marts and other big boxes stores to our Main Streets and historic downtowns. This song is a reminder of what was once great about America and how we really have lost our way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBh-m1yTZS0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNNezJPsYyA Ok, I really like this song even though it's not true country. Just sayin.

I listen to country an awful lot and even like some of today's artist but this video is spot on. Quite honestly though the same could have been said of all the hair metal bands of the 80's where their songs and videos were all the same. My favorite music still tends to be alternative and classic rock but back to country. While I enjoy listening to it there is really only one country artist that keeps it real and that I truly respect. That would be Mr. Alan Jackson.
