I have UnitedHealthcare through my employer and use to take Lipitor before the insurance company changed it a tier 3 drug. If I remember correctly that raised my copay to $75 for a 90 day supply. During a checkup with my doctor, I told him that I wanted to explore other prescription drug alternatives because of the new costs associated with the Lipitor prescription. So he wrote me a prescription for a generic, Omeprazole, which now I get through UnitedHealtCares mail order program, $25 for a 90 day supply. The drug works just as well if not better than Lipitor did.
