  1. To all on Paulding.com who interacted with me and responded to my comments over the last couple of weeks, thank you for the discourse, whether or not you supported Mr. Donovan for District Attorney. Everybody was courteous and respectful to me whether they liked what I posted or not (although y'all are not always courteous and respectful to one another). To Drew Lane, who has also been friendly and respectful to me on and since July 20, including last night at the Courthouse, I wish you well. I expect to be assisting Mr. Donovan in the transition of your office and I look forward to meetings w
  2. You ARE a good player, Waffle. You can be my friend, even though you don't like my other friend. I like your other friend. Steve
  3. Understood. And this post was certainly less confrontational than the one before it, which is good. You and I need to talk more often. Steve
  4. Understood News Junky. But it's the well-reasoned comment and not the proponent which I think is important. Hope someone reading the post would not assess the quoted article (or me) based on the identity of the quoted writer, but rather on the content and the expression. I am not meaning to identify myself personally with either Mr. Barr or Mr. Smith, and I, of course, do not speak officially for Mr. Donovan. Steve
  5. Pubby, Sorry to interrupt you again --really don't mean to be argumentative. The position which Mr. Donovan takes on his web site (which has been there for months) on the death penalty is basically the same one taken in a Fulton Daily Report article for tomorrow's edition (although it came out online Friday). The author is Bob Barr, former US Congressman, former United States Attorney (read that "Federal Prosecutor") and also former criminal defense attorney. Certainly, he is a card carrying conservative-- a hero to some conservatives. His point is made in support of Preston Smith's Attorn
  6. Ah . . . a short, non-confrontational, pleasant response to my short, non-confrontational, silly, but (hopefully) not unpleasant comment. I like that too!! S
  7. I'll leave that one alone. You, Nature Girl, and Pubby have made me feel better. I usually presume it's just my lack of computer-savvy.
  8. Be careful with that trigger finger, Pubby!! Hope your day is great. I'm having Chocolate Raspberry coffee and enjoying a relaxing Sunday morning. Steve
  9. I'm new. Here was the problem I had to get used to. It may or may not be the same as yours. Every time I sign in again, if I want to read any of the topics that require a password in addition to my sign in password I had to go back and put in the "ON" password again (like first, on '"Turn on Forums," then second on "Political Discussions"). Took me 2 days to get that. Anyway, Happy Sunday. Looks like you and I joined on the same day. SJM
  10. Sorry, Hi-ho Silver. I guess I wouldn't make a very good Tonto. I'll try again. Steve
  11. I have responded with a direct communication to Hi-ho Silver -- at least I tried to, but I am still getting used to navigating this site -- as I have indicated I would do for any p.com member who would like to contact me. As I have said before, my actual identification and contact information are listed on my profile. Hi-ho Silver: Please let me know if you didn't get my email. If you (or anybody else) would prefer that I publish the information generally, I will be happy to do so. From my posts on the "What is the Truth (Drew Lane Popup Ad)" thread yesterday (and the responses), it should
  12. NavyEagle#1: Email me -- xjudge98@yahoo.com -- or send me a paulding.com PM if you are willing to let me try to convince you to vote for Dick Donovan for DA notwithstanding all of the criticism you have read on paulding.com. Thanks. Steve Messinger Hinesville, GA (Ft. Stewart territory)
  13. I don't know Drew Lane personally, but I used to work in the Paulding DA's office, so I know many of the people in the Paulding Court system. I won't criticize Pubby here, or WFAL, or Drew Lane, or anybody else for that matter, but I have known Mr. Donovan for 25 years and I have personal knowledge of some of his specific plan for reorganizing the DA's office, which will include structured, direct, regular contact with (and input from) the law enforcement officers who investigate and institute the cases in the Courts. As I have said in other topic threads recently and I will now say on this, t
  14. And if anybody needs A LOT of good reasons TO VOTE FOR Mr. Donovan, send ME a PM (now that I have figured out how to work this dang system -- only took me 2 days). Or please see my post on the "What is the Truth" strain. SJM
