  1. The street light in our culdasac has been burned out for awhile now. It makes it really hard to see backing out at 7am .. still being dark. I am afraid I might hit a child going to catch a bus or something. It just makes me nervous. We pay for street lights through our water bill, but I'm not sure if that's who I am supposed to call or not. :unknw:

Look at your water bill ... it should show who to call.

  2. The place you order them on tv is buy one get one free plus you get the 2 free book lamps..

you may could get the express mail. and get them on time...

on tv they are 19.95 plus shipping and handling.. for 2

But on those "deals" they usually charge twice the GDP for "processing and handling."

  3. My advice is to go and ask them some driving rules before you start with them. My daughter used one and the lady told her to listen to her ipod while she drove to relax her. She also told her to go to the right to make a left hand turn because it was easier. If you are in the right position to make a left hand turn you can be by the center line where you are supposed to be.

I really hope you reported this person. :o

  4. It's across from the WalMart ... not the new one. You can get it by the slice, too. Big, thin slices with whatever you want on them. Real NYer owns it, and all.

ACK!! I was by there last night and they are gone!! :o

  5. Wife says $43 million isn't enough in divorce settlement

...Marie Douglas-David, 36, a former investment banker, says she has no income and needs her husband, George David, 67, to pay her more than $53,000 a week to cover her expenses...

...Amid a series of reconciliations, the couple signed a postnuptial agreement in October 2005 that would give her $43 million when they divorce...

...Douglas-David has filed court papers saying she has more than $53,800 in weekly expenses, including maintaining a Park Avenue apartment and three residences in Sweden. Also among her weekly expenses: $700 for limousine service, $4,500 for clothes, $1,000 for hair and skin treatments, $1,500 for restaurants and entertainment, and $8,000 for travel...

  6. ...I can tell you the other drivers info will not be mentioned on the report as in the accident for they were not involved. Now the officer can put it in his narritive but good luck filing on his insurance if his vehicle is not involved...

The other vehicle and that driver's actions can be put in the report as contributing factors to the accident.

  7. I guess I got lucky the police report saved us when my DD was backed into by another vehicle. After the officer took the statements (they matched exactly) they other party tried to change their story and even filed a claim with my insurance. Of course my insurance denied them. I had trouble with the other insurance also until I reported them to the insurance commissioner and they were on the pay and only to happy to pay after that.

It can help with regard to change in statements but a police accident report is not the end all be all in determining fault.

  8. beulah-that is called tack, and they do put that in between the layers of asphalt to make sure the layers bond better. that stuff is nasty and i dont recommend driving on it after it has just been sprayed on the road unless you want everything you drive over to stick to your tires.

with that intersection being one lane each way, there really is no good way the paving company could have re-paved it during the day. traffic control is a nightmare on rural 2 lanes. i'm just glad they re-did it, that intersection was rough as all get out.

I believe he's talking about the yellow traffic control lines, not the other stuff.

  9. I understand that the road needs to be redone. I have no problem with that. The wait to get through the area is just part of driving. It's the behavior of these people before and after their work officially begins that had my blood boiling last night and this morning. And apparently a few of their folks need to be reminded of pedestrian/traffic law as well as the physics and consequences of a human vs. Full-Size SUV collision, even at low speeds.

(There were a few people out there this morning who should be grateful that I had my coffee before hitting the road. )

  10. Thank you for posting this ... I've had a couple of the WGC people asking me about it.

And while I'm in here ... does anybody have an extra tent that they would be willing to let somebody (a Paulding.com member) use for this event?

  11. And those rotten [insert long string of expletives] were staging over here this morning, completely blocking the road while they drank their coffee and scratched their butts. (I darn near ran over one of those buttheads, too. ) And if they park that big scraper thing in the same place again when they finish tonight, I'm raising holy h*ll. It almost completely blocked all visibility of 101 southbound traffic for those of us trying to get out of here onto 101.

  12. The way I read it was that they are looking for camp counselors. Base pay with no experience is $6.55 (minimum wage.) Pay will be negotiated and a higher salary will be available for those with experience.

It would stand to reason that you will have a variety of experience levels, and that those who are "green" can learn from others who've done this before (and be paid as they learn to boot.)

I agree, that with proper supervision, this is a win-win situation for all involved!

I agree but get worried when I see that the pay and experience requirements are the same.

Somebody help me out, since I haven't checked anytime in the last umpteen years ... is this standard child care pay? Is this what day cares pay?
