  1. I'm not a Republican, so I cannot really speak for others. My position on government job creation has not changed.

  3. You asked for opinions and I provided one. Google is your friend.
  4. Google the name "Robert Barro" and then read this: http://www.principlesofliberty.org/News/The%20Myth%20of%20Government%20Job%20Creation.pdf
  5. Every dollar that the government uses to "create" jobs is a dollar that must be seized by force from the private sector. ^^^ Libertarian position.

  8. Not really, Pubby is just trying to distract you with talk of mysterious and nefarious "outsiders." Because he does not want you to focus on the unsavory and incompetent actions of our BOC. Actions which he has fully supported and that is the real issue here.
  9. Not true, that AP story was widely published by the AJC and many others: http://www.ajc.com/news/business/heavy-hitters-behind-opposition-to-paulding-airpor/ncp7k/
  10. Reasonable intelligent discussion left the building with the tea party boogeymen of post #2. "They're very conservative Christians with a very conservative Christian agenda."
  11. So the supporters of other candidates should pay you for the privilege of discussing local election issues here ? ? ?
  12. Your problem with Conservatives is a personal issue, not an election issue. See my signature for details...
  13. No, sabotaging something and opposing it are not the same thing. I urge folks to go back and check ALL of the LINKS that I have posted in this thread, most of them are mainstream news sources. Links that you claimed you did not read.
  14. Those Medicaid expansion guidelines apply nationwide, Mr. Thacker would face the exact same problem in KY.
  15. Counted the signs on Old Cartersville Rd. today, Tony Crowe outnumbers David Barnett 12 to 2...

  17. Ummm... that link is to the Washington Post and the fact is that the ACA is the only major piece of social legislation in history to be passed on a straight party line vote. Another fact is that the Republicans offered MANY compromises during the debate on health care reform and they were all summarily rejected by Pelosi and the Dems. The president and his party own this disaster.

  21. At an individual level, the expansion produces perverse results. If someone works 40 hours per week, making $7.50 per hour, this person would qualify. If he applies himself and is rewarded with a raise to $8 an hour, he would face an unpleasant choice: quit, work fewer hours, decline the raise, or lose health coverage through Medicaid. - Savannah Morning News
  22. ^^^ In the above, do realize that you are arguing against cash payments to the poor. Money to spend as they see fit on their own health care needs v. a paternalistic and inefficient government bureaucracy issuing one size fits all mandates for the masses. My position empowers the poor and leaves more money on the table for education.
  23. Do not lecture me on poverty... as I lived it for the first 16 years of my life. We lived in a farmhouse with no indoor plumbing and grew our own food. If you want to discuss the true cost of health care or role of health insurance, then I am ready and willing. If you want to demonize the evil rich or expound upon the moral virtues of poverty, then we will really have nothing to discuss: That $20 co pay might sound good, until you factor in the $800 per month in premiums and the yearly $6,000 deductible. Switching to a cash payment catastrophic policy next October will save
  24. Nobody is giving me information, I have educated myself on this subject by reading and listening to health care policy professionals and physicians. Removing the consumer from the true price of health care drives up costs. That $20 co pay might sound good, until you factor in the $800 per month in premiums and the yearly $6,000 deductible. Switching to a cash payment catastrophic policy next October will save our family over $10K per year in out of pocket costs, leaving plenty of money on hand for the occasional $200 routine office visit or $400 minor medical clinic.
