  1. Am I the only guy in Paulding who is intimidated by his own yard? I know nothing about this stuff and depend on people like you who know what they're doing not to kill my grass. In my previous house, in a fit of "do it yourself," I burned my whole backyard with some kind of attempt to fertilize it or kill weeds or something. It was a disaster. Thanks for your tips!
  2. Do you have some events coming up that you can share here - maybe places that we could come check out the movie screen?
  3. On June 7, I will appear on Good Day Xtra (Atlanta Fox 5) to promote the upcoming show at the Dallas Theater, raising funds for Engage Atlanta for special needs facilities to be built. Please set your DVRs! Have you got tickets yet? If not, why not go ahead and get them now by clicking on this sentence? Thanks for your support!
  4. I'm excited that in addition to the magic, I am planning to feature some additional local talent on the show this year. I will announce guest performers when things are all settled. By the way - if you're excited about the show and would like to help me tell others... would you join my Facebook fan page? You will see links to the event and then you can share it with all your Facebook contacts, too. That link is: http://facebook.com/turnermagic Thanks, everyone!
  5. Summer is approaching, and that means it's almost time for another edition of MIDSUMMER MAGIC! For my first trick - this year's show is not technically even during the summer! Due to a variety of scheduling issues, this year's show is on June 12 at 7pm at the Dallas Theater. This year's show will generate funds for Engage Atlanta... specifically, a project in Paulding County to create a ballfield and playground for special needs kids. Please mark your calendars now, and stay tuned... I expect to make some special announcements about how this year's show will be different than previ
  6. Thanks everyone! Today I spoke at the Marietta Metro Rotary Club. I was surprised to walk in and discover that District 19 Representative Daniel Stout is a member of this club. He was present and we spoke briefly before the meeting. Anyway, the meeting went well and I have one more event this week before leaving for Buffalo. I'll be speaking at Burnt Hickory Baptist's "Career Crossroads" meeting tomorrow night. If you are between jobs, come on out. www.burnthickory.com Thanks again everyone! P.S. I have received the DVD from WATC and will post the other segment from my appea

  8. Thanks. I tried to embed it but it wasn't working before. Now it seems to be working. I was fighting a horrible sinus infection and had only begun taking my medication the day before. Lots of throat clearing, unfortunately!
  9. Just want to give Bizness a shout out for accompanying me to the Marietta Business Association breakfast meeting this morning. I was the speaker and she took some photos/video while we were there. I really enjoyed spending some additional time with you afterward, and I look forward to being part of the interesting projects we discussed! She is out there talking about the benefits of this site and how it can help businesses grow - not just Paulding businesses, but any business anywhere that wants to reach new customers in our area.
  10. Just a reminder - there are several local events this week, including my evening program at Beverly Cochran's event on Friday night. Thanks for your support! JMT

  17. Don't forget the Paulding Business Association March luncheon today at Stars and Strikes - networking @ 11:30 am, lunch ($12 each, buffet) is at noon. Cpl Brandon Gurley of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office will be the speaker, so I plan to be on my best behavior. See y'all there!
  18. Had an unbelievable day in Vienna today -- saw Schloss Schönbrunn (Schönbrunn Palace) and the Hofburg -- the summer and winter residences of the Austrian emperors. We saw plenty of Mozart connections and heard the stories of the French connections (Marie Antoinette was an Austrian princess who married into the French monarchy, and Napoleon later married into the Hapsburg family). We saw St. Stephans Cathedral, the various shopping districts downtown, the Opera House, the Austrian Parlament (not spelled in German the same way as in English), the Vienna Rathaus (seat of city government -- look
  19. The trip has been hectic but rewarding. You can read blog updates and see more pics on my personal Facebook page (friend me!). Short version -- We had a hiccup on our flight over here – almost didn't make our flight from Paris to Vienna because of computer systems not talking to each other properly about our etickets. We finally got it worked out and made it through just before check-in was closed. We had an orientation meeting on Sunday and missionary families began arriving on Sunday night. Monday was the first day of the conference. Each morning starts with a 30-minute child
  20. I am connected with a LinkedIn group that shares job listings. I will try to share them here when I can. You can email resumes direct to the address below. If you are on LinkedIn (a free business networking service), connect with me and I'll help you get these directly. I know there's only one Kennesaw listing but if you're qualified and looking for a job, maybe you're willing to commute for a while. Hope this helps someone... =================================== February 25, 2010 Open Temp, Temp to Hire, & Career Opportunities – Email Resumes to nicole
  21. With all the negative things we see happening around us, it might be refreshing to take a look at this fantastic video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3HnUfqCBfc Feel better? I do!
  22. I am a speaker by trade and often speak to professional groups, civic groups, and various associations/conventions. Some of my topics include memory development, change management/leadership, creativity and success thinking. I often use magic as a visual hook on which to hang the message. (I have additional messages for Christian groups and some political groups, but those are not my primary topics for general audiences.) I would love to talk with you. Thanks for your consideration! Joe M. Turner
