  1. Do you drink much out of cans? Just throw them away in the trash?

Don't. You can support your local scouts by donating your empty cans to them for recycling. All proceeds from recycling go into a fund that helps to cover costs associated with activities the boys do and covers advancement badges and other things for the boys.

If you are interested in donating your empty cans, PM me and I will be happy to make arrangements to come by and pick up your cans. All cans must be in plastic bags. Individuals, businesses, whoever....your donations won't go to waste.

    Thanks! :)

  3. Thanks pubby, i was wondering when they were gonna start that trial.

Rev: in this particular case, i am for the death pentaly:

i knew Chrisy and her child, such a sad loss,

I could go either way on the death penalty - it just depends to me on what the crime is. I feel like any crime that involves the death of a child be punishable by death, though. I don't see ANY exceptions for that.

  4. Looking for a job???  The new Wal-Mart which will be located on Dallas Highway and opening on January 31, 2006 is in the process of hiring all positions.  The hiring center is located on Summerhill Road in Dallas in the Shriners Hall.  I have heard that they are a great company to work for with good benefits and incentives.  I think the direct number to the hiring center is 770-445-0838.  Good luck!!!

I think it's a good thing that it's going to open up some jobs, but I wouldn't go so far to say they are a great company to work for. My grandmother has worked for them for like 20 years and still doesn't make over $10.00 per hour. The insurance is okay, but not spectacular, and the Wal-Mart that she works for starts sending you home early when you get close to 40 hours to keep you out of overtime.

Good luck to all those hunting jobs, though, it's going to be a great opportunity for this area.

  5. A few things that haven't been said or have been mis-reported:

    1) Thank God, the wife and children didn't find him....a neighbor is the one who found him

    2) Last I heard they are "looking into" someone.  I'm not going to say who or where they are from for obvious reasons.

What I will say is that anyone who lives in or around this subdivision, you need to be very careful at all times, it may be someone very near or dear to you ;)

I believe I heard that a neighbor saw it happen, but weren't able to give a whole lot of information. I can only imagine who they are "looking into" because there are some shady characters living in there right now. We are considering moving because of the activities we suspect are going on right in our neighborhood, although I'm sure it happens in all neighborhoods.

I think there is a lot of drug activity going on all throughout the neighborhood based on the things that I see. There is one house that seems like it's running a chop-shop out of it with all the cars that come in and out. I suspect a lot of things, but wouldn't be able to prove a darn thing. I do know that I'm not the only one that thinks that.

I sure do hope that they catch whoever it was to give his family some closure though. Knowing that whoever did it is behind bars would sure help me to sleep better at night, too. I get worried about stepping out of my front door after dark right now. I don't like that feeling.

  6. Well I know exactly what to tell the next cop that pulls me over to give me a speeding ticket!!! Oh wait, I usually get tickets in Cobb County - they'd probably lock my butt up. That wouldn't make the hubby very happy.

    Hilarious though!!!

  7. I just finished viewing a video piece on WSB TV about a 54 year old Paulding man who was found last night dead in his driveway from two gunshot wounds.

Local authorities, WSB reported, have no leads and are asking for information regarding the man.

I suspect a link will be available on the WSB TV site later on - this was a new at six story - and they had not posted any additional information on their website.

The man who died was a former Lockheed-Georgia employee and was said to be a helpful fellow and a Christian.

Sorry folks but we all apparently missed this. I saw RRR at lunch and she mentioned the Carrolton Courthouse thing; but the WSB story was the first buzz I heard of this.

That was the story about the man that was shot off of Etowah Court. We live in that neighborhood and my husband spoke to one of the gentleman's neighbors at the store the other day. It is my understanding that he was shot twice after coming home to catch someone robbing his house.

It's a shame that we live in a time like this that people feel like they can just come in to your home and take your things - and kill you if you happen to catch them in the process. Why can't people just work for the things that they want instead of feeling like they can just take what someone else has worked for. I feel really sorry for his wife and daughter that found him. It is very sad.

  8. Let me start off by saying that I usually just read and don't really post alot so y'all take it easy on me LOL

I am 33 and when I was younger, always wanted a tattoo but decided that I didn't want to deal with my kids (when I had kids)trying to get one when they were 16 or whatever so decided that the easiest thing to do was to not open it up for debate.

Another reason I didn't was because I always wondered what it would be like to be ''old'' with tattoos. Do you have teens who bug you about doing things because you did it when you were their age? If you are older and have tattoos, do you regret getting them? If you could go back would you have decided not to get one?

I Figured this would be a fun and interesting topic to discuss. Thoughts?

I'm not "older" yet (only 28), but so far I don't regret the ones that I have. I am planning to get one more. My husband is 35 and loves his still - and plans to get one more.

I don't really have a problem with my kids getting them when they get old enough, just as long as they are happy with the choices that they make. Heck, my oldest son even tells me that he wants to become a tattoo artist.

  9. I was shocked when I heard this. We do not live in an "affluent" neighborhood, but we do have a few housese that go all out and people do come in to tot in our neighborhood.  The only time I have a problem is when I see older kids dumping the bowls that are left out into their bags!  Take a few and have fun, but please don't take the whole thing :(

The woman sent the email anonymously, cancelled the yahoo account that it was sent from and gave no contact information.  Bert and crew were wondering if it was fake or if people really felt like this.  I had to go into work so I don't know what calls they got on it.  I think she should go to the movies next monday!

I was shocked when I heard them talking about it, too. That's why I posted here to get people's reactions. I wasn't able to stay in the car and see who called in about it either. I just can't imagine people being that way. I also don't live in an "affluent" neighborhood. Our houses are older, but it is still a really nice place to live. It's quiet and we enjoy it. I can't imagine anyone in our neighborhood wishing away any tot'ers.

  10. Are you joking?? Someone actually complained about this?  This is something that wouldn't have crossed my mind in a millionn years!

          Armymom

It has never crossed my mind either. As a matter of fact, when I was a single mom, I took my oldest one to a subdivision that was nice than the trailer park that I was living in. I really didn't see anything wrong with it, but now it just makes me wonder if those people would've snubbed me had they known that I didn't live around there.

It's a sad world that we live in these days. All people seem to care about is money anymore. I wish more kids came through my neighborhood - all the kids are older now and don't dress up anymore. I love seeing kids in their costumes.

  11. Well, not to sound too cold hearted, but we used to live in an affluent area of Cherokee Co., and people who did not live in our neighborhood, or even the surrounding neighborhoods, would come by the truck load to trick or treat.  On top of that, they would RIDE around in the back of pick-up trucks, only hoping out to get candy.  To me, that is not in the spirit of the holiday, and I don't think it's right.

Now, if you live in a really rural area, where there are few house, it's one thing to go to a more populated area, but you do have the option to participate in a local trick or treat "festival" in most areas instead of bussing into areas.  I know we buy a certain amount of candy to hand out; when it's gone, it's gone.  I'd hate to think that my neighbors are missing out because of this type of behavior.

As Bert and his "crew" were explaining on the radio this morning, we live in a time when many neighborhoods are just not safe to roam the streets after dark. While many areas offer Halloween festivals, it's just not the same as going door-to-door, something that I feel every child should get to experience.

I'm not saying that it's okay to truck them in by the busload, but in moderate numbers (say a few families from outside of the neighborhood) I don't honestly see a problem. It's just a good time for the kids.

  12. I was listening to the Bert Show this morning on Q100 and could not believe the email that they were reading over the air about kids on Halloween.

It seems that this woman that sent in the email wanted to lodge a complaint about the trick-or-treaters in her neighborhood (which she chose not to mention). Her complaint - that the kids didn't live in her neighborhood and she was probably already supporting them with her tax dollars. How could someone be that cold and stuck-up? After all, they're just kids. They don't care about the money - it's all about the candy.

What's your opinion on this topic? Is it okay for kids to be bussed to different neighborhoods to trick-or-treat or should they stay within their own "economic societies"?

  13. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn't believe that there was so much evidence mounting against Christian - so it has to be someone that has access to his VERY personal stuff. I think that Kimber may be the one. She's a little on the crazy side, but so is Matt. I'm just not sure where to stand on it now, because I was almost sure that Kit was going to be the one.

Can't wait until next week now. I was, however, thankful that I didn't have to see Matt last night. Another thing to be thankful about - the shots of Christian's nude hiney!!! Tell me....what was the purpose in taking nude photos of him other than to please the viewers?

  14. Am I the only one lost on this whole situation?

    Is this 3 different things

    a) "Car" insident (Etowah Court)

    B) "Shot gun heard/ red car scene (Etowah Dr)

    c)  Homocide Seminole Drive (Off of Bobo)

    OR

is the a) "Car" incident and the c)Seminole Drive incident the same; just w/ Rd names mixed up?

    OR

Am I just stupid? (Please don't answer that one)

Etowah Court is off of Seminole Drive, which is directly off of Bobo Road.

  15. Personally, I think the Carver is going to be the new doctor. He's just different. There is no way that it is Christian because he was drugged last night while the little liar was being attacked - which I believe she is now dead. I knew from the start that she was lying - she was just too happy have just been attacked. I guess she got what was coming from her for lying about it - feeling the entire surgery and then getting killed. Like Christian said, there was nothing beautiful about her and the Carver attacks beauty.

  16. I am wondering if the Carver is going to be Christian and he is schizophrenic?? You know he was molested as a boy and maybe they will put that into the reason he is carving people?? He was cut on his neck and NOT his face, which is different from the rest. The only thing is that he is a main character and I can't see them writing him off of the show. I know he was in a movie, but I don't know if he is planning more movies???

Last night, I was flipping to Boston Legal during commercials and the actress that is playing Kit was on there too!! It was wierd seeing her in two different roles at the same time.

Surely it wouldn't be Christian. That would mean that his whole attack was just a dream sequence. There is no telling at this point who the Carver is, but it could also be an old patient of their's that wasn't satisfied with the outcome of the surgery. As far as the Carver being a male, it could always be a woman with a little extra socked away in her pants. Women can be crazy sometimes, and they like to try to take on the role of men at times. (Ex: Kit)

  17. I watched last week's episode, but didn't make it on here to post about it. It was great!!! I can't believe the crap with Matt last week and all that followed that going to the bar thing....I think the gang-banger is dead, but they didn't even mention him on last night's show - so it must be a give-me that he's not coming back. Matt is very strange looking, and I would say that he was a woman, or was at one time, by looking at him. He's just VERY feminine. Those eyebrows have just got to go on him!!!

Last night's episode was just as freaky - with the new doc trying to get it on with both of the other docs. Freaky!!! I was glad to see that Kimber sided with Christian about Kit - I hated to see him hurting that he wasn't getting enough attention. I'm sure there are enough of us on here that would be perfectly willing to take care of that for him though!!! I think the Carver is going to be either Ava, the new doc, or Matt. He's been pretty screwed up for a little while. I don't think that it's going to be Ava really because she has her own issues to work through and she's never been a really violent person. The new doc is sexy, but a little on the weird side. I can't believe that he winked at Sean in that bedroom!!

Now I'm just counting the hours until the next episode!!! Stupid baseball has all of my other shows on hold 'til play-offs are over. Nip/Tuck is all I got.
