Better question is "why bother reminding someone not to walk on a frozen pond?" I remember when we had to rely on our own common sense and / or our parents common sense to stop us from doing stupid stuff. Now everyone thinks the government or the media should be telling us what to do and not to do.

I think that is what I just said. By the way, I have two ponds. One is fairly shallow and a little over an acre and it was frozen over completely. The other is about 4 acres but much deeper. It was frozen over 60% of the surface. Glenn obviously had his head up his ass on this one. Maybe he was busy looking for appendages.

I forgot about that trick. I really suck at soldering. If I am doing a lot of it I get pretty good, but the first few are always questionable. Plus, some of the places where you have that torch, it's just safer to use an expensive fitting. I have a buddy that is a plumber that burned down an apartment building one time when soldering a pipe in a wall.

They are a little pricey, but when compared to the cost of me having a heart attack from the anger of trying to solder a copper pipe with water dripping out of it, they are actually quite cheap. The best thing about them is that they actually work and they are easy to use.

Maybe I am missing something, but wind chill does not have any effect on water freezing. The wind might have some effect in that it stirs the colder air temps into the water, something Glenn should be aware of from his sport of fishing. In the heat of the summer, we fish the wind blown side of a lake because of oxygen saturation of the water. This is especially true at lakes like Weiss where there are large expanses of water less than 10 feet deep.

I don't care much for that. Tequila Sunrise, Desparado, Hotel Cali, New york minute and all of Joe Walsh are my favorites.

I have seen them on television recently. They are actually aging well, even Joe Walsh. And their voices are amazingly as good as ever. Their music has always been kind of folk rocky so they are growing into it well.

I fried some chicken. First time and I learned by watching a you tube video. It was perfect. Browned perfectly on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside.

There is a place on Florence Road that does that kind of thing. They used to do the trophies for our bass club.

I know WHY water expands. What I am wondering is why sometimes pipes burst and at other times the don't. My guess would be if the pipe had no restrictions so that the crystals could grow linearly through the pipe instead of being plugged on both ends like in the video. It is at times like this when I am so glad that I am out of the rental property business.

I have to do a lot of my shops in axonometric with all the different components labeled and color coded so I still use the the t-square and triangle. I just upgraded from stone and chisels a couple of years ago.

My question is why is it that sometimes they burst and sometimes they don't? And I didn't realize that water expanded 10% when it freezes. Interesting stuff to me.

I put a change of clothes in the bags to keep in my boat. I can just throw the bags in a storage compartment and leave them there until I were to need them without worrying about them getting wet. Can you tell I have fell in the lake in cold weather before?
