The wedding business is a unique one, where the bride and groom make spending decisions that affect the expenses of their friends and family. Is there such a thing as Metro values website and did you see it before you purchased? I have never heard of that or seen it anywhere and we do a LOT of advertising in the metro area.
Yes - They are still doing business!! But -- because the guy is not honoring his word according to the contract, he has closed his office and everything else is unlisted. We also were taken by "yourmetrovalues.com (an alternative name for the biz) He puts a coupon for a business on his website and guarantees satisfaction, regarding the response. There was a contract! He just doesn't make good on it and then stops answering his phone.
Everything that autohouse.us said is absolutely accurate!

Each gentleman should arrange for his tuxedo rental after his date has selected her prom dress. It works much better for the two of them to bring the dress to the tux shop for the purpose of color-matching. Pictures of the dress do not show an accurate representation of its color.
What to be aware of, when renting tuxedos. Ask if there are any extra fees imbedded in renting the tuxedos. Most tuxedo rental companies charge a "damage waiver" cost. It is usually about $7.50 and it is SUPPOSED to cover incidental damage. However, minor spills or stains, etc are covered in the rental cleaning costs and any permanent, irrepairable damages are not covered by the damage waiver and the renter would have to pay for the irrepairable damage, anyway. When you pay for something, there should be a corresponding value for that charge. A "damage waiver" is a fee without giving you any value.
King Tux Rentals does not charge a "damage waiver" for that reason.
You have a right to know the cost of the entire rental. Be cautious of a salesperson who will not give you a straight answer about the price - the total price. "It depends" is a typical answer by the chain stores because they do not want you to know how much it will cost. Or, they have been trained to give a price for an outdated tuxedo that they keep in stock to use as a "reference price". Any place that says that their tux rentals START at ______ (a really low price) never actually rent a tux at that price.
At King Tux Rentals, we have two rental prices and we have no inferior tuxedos. Our rentals include everything, even shoes. A black tuxedo, Super 150s material, your choice of vest, tie, and pocket square color, tux shirt, cufflinks, and shoes -- All for $119.99. About $50 -$70 less than the chain stores! Other than black tuxes or special order tuxes are just $149.99.
Be cautious of fake discounts. The big chains offer a "$40 Discount" coupon to prom students, but don't tell you what the reference price is! In other words - $40 off of what price? They raise the tux rental price and discount from THAT price. The rental ends up costing the student (or the parent) around $160- $180 with the fake discount, .

After going to a couple of bridal shows last year, I know what you mean! Some have gimmicks to get your information, but don't give you any idea of what their prices are. And some of the cakes were beautiful, but when I tasted the samples I was appalled! I hate to see people taken advantage of, and some vendors know that people will spend more on their wedding and WILL mislead. Like you said, organize and watch out! And enjoy. I love going to the shows. lol. But then, I love anything to do with weddings.
The secret to planning a successful wedding is for the bride and groom to establish a good line of communication - a relationship with the vendors that will be assisting them on their important day.
Another important piece of advice to couples planning a wedding is that if they ever start to feel "processed", they should find a new vendor in that field. Some of the larger, nationwide vendors are really bad about taking a cookie-cutter approach with a narrow listing of choices and not listening to the customer. Brides and grooms need advice and guidance, but in a way that allows their personal signature to grace the special occasion. Small businesses typically do a much better job than the chains.
A chance for wedding professionals and brides to meet face to face! This is an opportunity for both sides to optimize their time. For the vendors, it allows direct access to a lot of customers, in a unique setting. For the couple, it's a chance to ask questions to do comparisons of goods and services in a short period of time. It's fun, you get to meet people and take care of business.

There's a show in Atlanta put on by the Perfect Wedding Guide this coming Sunday and then another one in Woodstock the following Saturday, 1-21-12. That one is put on by Cherokee Bridal Expo.
If you are going, here are a few tips:
Wear comfortable shoes.
Take a friend to help you organize.
Put your wedding information on stickers/labels so that you don't have to write the information down dozens of times.
Take notes of vendors that you like and where they are located in case you want to revisit them
Beware of discounters! A discounter will offer "Dollars Off" (i.e. $50 off each one), but won't tell you what the regular price or the final price will be. They'll say -- "It depends".
Watch out for vendors who lure you with games - It's like the carnival, It looks like fun, but just think -- if their product was that good, why would they try to trick you into a commitment?

How much does it cost to register? Nothing - at King Tux Rentals!
How much are Tux and Suit Rentals? Tux rentals are $119.99 for black tuxes with everything or, if you would like a different color tux (brown, navy, white, etc) or a special order tux, the rental is $149.99 each. Suits rent for $119.99 for everything. A groom's tux/suit rental is free with five additional paid tux/suit rentals.
What's the process? Wedding couples come in and decide exactly what they want everyone to wear. In-town groomsmen come in to get their measurements taken, out of town groomsmen go to their local tux shop and have their measurements taken using a form that we provide. Then they call the information in to us and pay for the rental. The tuxedo or suit rental will be ready a few days before the wedding and it is returned to us the day after the wedding for local events, or on Tuesday for out of town events.

In some cases Prom is just over two months away. I know that McEachern High, in Powder Springs, has their prom on March 10. Some parents will go with the student to purchase their child's tux rental or dress purchase - Others just give the junior or senior the credit card or send cash or a check with him/her.
