If you're talking about the fire tax near the end of King Jerry's term, the money went into the general fund, so it was essentially just a tax increase. They upgraded the fire dept some and spent the rest as they wanted to. First and last tax I will ever vote for.

Oh, I know you didn't write it, it was from the Dallas Hiram Patch. I wonder why a reporter would write something untrue like that and try to get away with it. Just report the truth and get the information out there for the public to view and voice their thoughts. Yes, it is true that dumpsters are impossible to police, my husband is a pipe fitter and he's seen people dump all sorts of stuff in the bins.

The Patch is notorious for NOT getting the facts correct!!! Heck they can't even get their stories straight, on numerous articles. I had sent thm an email about a story, asking about the incorrect facts that the reporter had reported and I was NOT surprized when I didn't get a response!!!

[How's the Governor's Gun Club doing ?]

With the demographics of p.com, the Gun Club Forum should be a no-brainer. We have a lot of avid shooters, hunters, and others, and I would think it would be a popular topic discussion to help promote their business.

 

We all like to see local businesses do well, thrive, and prosper and irregardless of individual politics, this would be a popular topic to follow.

 

Pubby owns P.com, but I think most of us who are daily posters/members also consider ourselves to be the owners and operators of the site. You do have to admit, like it or not, we have a lot of lee way in our posts and topics, many contrary to Pubby's views and opinions. It is still a great site for all to participate in, but it does have to make enough money to pay the server/computer time bills.

 

I for one would sorely miss this board if it were gone. And I will do what I can to promote it in the interim.

I'm sure The General has spoken to them about the benefits of a Pcom membership, we try to promote pcom at any & every opportunity, we have a chance to. When we joined The Governors Gun Club, we opted for the upgrade to where we can rent any of their rentable hand guns, that way I can try this and try that, to see what I can and can't handle. It's just a trial and error kind of thing, though. I'll ask him if he talked to the "right" person, I know he has spoken to the owners a time or two, I'll check into this a little further.

[How's the Governor's Gun Club doing ?]

We love it!! We went to shoot a couple of weeks ago and when I shot the gun the first time (first time on this day), somehow the slide on top of the gun, got me and I bled forever, it seemed like. We'll have to find me a hammerless revolver, so this don't happen again.

 

They always have something going on, some kind of classes, games or something and it's worth it to chek it out and see what ALL they have to offer.

 

The Club is doing fine, what maks you think otherwise?? just curious...................... there pretty bus every time we go by/go in there.

[Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 5]

My Family has some kind of genetic disorder, there are many people in my Family that has issues with walking/bones/central nervous system and other issues. A few children in the family didn't walk until the age of 4, 5 and even up to the age of 6 or 7 yrs old. One child has braces/crutches (about 10 yoa, now) and another child is in a wheelchair (age 6) because, of the pain and her legs are always tired.

 

The childs Dr (not local and out of state) said she has spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 5, I have read a little bit of this page and I have some reservations about the symptoms listed not matching up with the childs symptoms. I had quit seeing my Neurologist because of the fact that all she wanted to do was prescribe more meds. I would like to see one who deals with hereditary issues. Anyone have any suggestions. (I don't know why the font has changed????)
