  1. /quote] We went from a pop-up to a travel trailer to our Class C. The motorhome is by far the easiest to back into a campsite. The pop-up was the hardest. Doesn't make sense but the shorter the trailer the harder it is back up. Our 30 foot travel trailer backed easier than our 12 foot pop up! I used to have a jet ski and that little thing was the hardest thing to back. It would get sideways before you knew it! No fun when everyone is waiting to use the boat ramp.
  2. I had a bumper pull horse trailer and then I traded it in for a gooseneck. Day and night! The gooseneck is much, much easier. Good luck.
  3.  You will problely have to help with that one too. Oh wait, no smoking in the mobile mag mobile.
  4. Great information. Thanks. So far, from what I can gather, the type of travel whatever is endless. I've thought about it, I think the motor home is for me cause if it's tough to into a space in a motorhome, it's gonna be even tougher with a gooseneck. No?
  5. We have a vespa, I want to avoid pulling anything. I think with planning I can make it work.

Pubby, if you choose to double check his information, do yourself a favor and triple check it.
  8. So here's a young man who was a product of beautiful surrounding, family and privilege. Fairly good looking and young. How in the hell does that turn into a cold blooded killer? I don't get it. Every opportunity and he just throws it away to sit in jail? What a dumbass. I remember the first time I saw his face....gave me the creeps. Truly, looking at him gave me the creeps. I hope he stays exactly where he is for a very long time. Monsters like that can't be rehabbed.
  9. Well darn it.......there's a great joke in there somewhere.
  10. I've used Steven several times and he is a pleasure to deal with. And he is more than fair with his pricing. And he comes to your house! Steven will always be this households computer guy.
  11. Thank you mei lan. I have decided that I am going around the bad parts so I can include south Florida and the keys in my trip. Looks like I need to get cracking before all the hot deals go away!
  12. Papi, please don't be offended but when I looked at that picture all I could think of: Two wild and crazy guys........ A la SNL. Polar opposite of what I was thinking dude.
  13. Thanks, that will be an issue I need to follow up on.
  14. I am with ya on that one. I am DONE with tents and sleeping bags! The last time I woke up at 2 am cause I HAD to use the restroom and found that between the sleeping bag, the tent and my clothes I had to unzip like 12 zippers.....that did it for me! And then when you wake up for the day and feel like you have been sleeping on a rock, well, that cured me too!
  15. I'm really looking forward to it. I just have a lot of research to do. My friend tells me to look into buying used from an individual for the best value and price. Seems that lots of people get into this and then, after a little while, they are looking to sell. So, I think I will see what's out there. Yup, that's another reason I want a motorhome. Backing a gooseneck, can be a pain in the neck! Not all the time but as my buddy once said once a situation is snakebit it stays that way!
  16. A good girlfriend and her husband have a saddle fitting business and they have lived in their RV for about 2 years, mainly traveling throughout Florida following the A circuit. Anyway, she says two things to make sure I get are automatic levelers and a rear camera. Also, she is going to send me her file on the campgrounds and such for Florida. She has dogs too so her info will include what areas are dog friendly. That will be a huge help. Any other "must have" suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
  17. See, that is what I think too. I would hate to miss the keys. I will just have to do more research and maybe join a club for this leg of the trip. The person that told me this was just concerned for my safety. But I will have a rather aggressive German Shepard as well as a glock (drops them the first shot) so I think I will be OK. It is exciting isnt it? I really like the thought of being able to get up and go when I want to. Not sold on the class A thing cause I will be mostly driving it myself but I like the way you think!
  18. Thanks folks! I looked into renting one, I was amazed at the expense and I think in my case I would be better off just to buy one cause went I finally do hit the road....I'm gonna HIT the road. Lol. The expense involved is way too much for a two month rental. I defiantly want a motor home, not a trailer. I've pulled a horse trailer with living quarters and based on that experience, I think I want a motorhome cause I think it will be easier to drive and besides, when I'm driving I like the idea of being in the same area as everyone else and not cramped in a truck. Don't want a big,

    RVing

It's so boring around here this time of year. What do y'all know about RVing? The good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm seriously thinking about hitting the road for 2 months about 3 times a year. What are your experiences?
  20. Know what the Pollack named his one legged daughter? Ilean. I have a Helen......whoops, never mind.
  21. Congrats Mr. Dis! Bet you are real glad to check that off the list.
  22. In RL. If so give her a call about the German Shepard thread. She indicated several times that she missed her GSD's. He's a fairly mature dog.......might be a match. Thanks for any help.
  23. Guess it's up to the parents to, um, parent?
