  1. I stopped in there this morning and they did me a favor. They didn't have to do it, but that's just how they do business. Highly recommended place if you need motorcycle gear. They're on 278 near Brusters.
  2. Tons of Confederate money has been replicated since the war as a novelty item. Plenty of real Confederate money out there, but lots of fakes too.
  3. When I was growing up, there was supposed to be a ghost of a Union soldier near the intersection of Cleburne Pkwy and Angham Rd. The story went the soldier was beheaded, and his head buried under the front step of a house. People reported seeing a lantern bobbing through the woods in the 50s and 60s, and it was supposedly the soldier seeking his head. There's a subdivision there now (built in the 70s). I never saw it, but I heard about it several times. My aunt lived in an old farmhouse where the S/D is now. The scariest thing back then was Soap Sally. We were told that if we misbehaved,
  4. I think in Paulding it's a function of the Marshals office.
  5. Warning: It's an addictive site. You just have to keep clicking to see what comes up next.
  6. My kids helped me clean out the garage yesterday
  7. I don't check to see if it's a duplicate, and I really don't pay attention to the topic in a given thread. I do find people's desire to enforce message board etiquette highly amusing.

  9. We still have water in South East Paulding (but I'm filling up the bath tub right now!)
  10. That's the painted yellow line over by the right guard rail
  11. Here's a shot of the roadway at Baker's Bridge. I talked to a PC DOT worker at the site, and he had no idea when it was going to be repaired and reopened.
  12. If child support/custody is involved, and you're not on the same page, get an attorney.
  13. If you get the forms yourself, you can file them yourself. That's really the only expense you'll have. Once the papers are filed, it will take a little over thirty days for the judge to issue the divorce decree.
  14. If it's amicable and simple, you can really do it yourself for under $100. You can even get the forms at most libraries. If you want to make sure all the t's are crossed, an attorney can do it for under $500. If you want to slug it out in court, with opposing attorneys, it will cost you a fortune ($10,000+), and you may or may not like the results.
  15. We just went out to do a little recon of the neighborhood. If you live in the area of Bakers Bridge and Sweetwater Church, you can't get to Ridge Road. Bakers Bridge is closed at the creek. You can get to 92 via Sweetwater Church, but 92 is closed North at Sweetwater Creek, and South at Mud Creek. Grands on 92 is open, but their debit card machine is down. It's a very popular store today, and they are out of milk. Brownsville is closed at Sweetwater Creek, but I think Pine Valley is open to 92... I believe you can still get to Douglasville by taking Dorris Rd. It's open all the way to Ce
  16. I don't drink much coffee, and I only look at PCOM about once a week
  17. I stopped by Southern Bikers this morning, and they have a Bikers Brunch until noon. Show upon your motorcycle and help yourself to coffee, biscuits, juice etc. They have a wide selection of gear, good prices, and they're nice folks to deal with. It's on 278 in the shopping center next to Brusters.
  18. Patak has all kinds of high quality meat. You'll be amazed when you go in there.
  19. I haven't seen him in years, but he will be missed. He played the steel professionally, but when he and I played he always picked up the bass. I think that was his favorite. RIP Gates.
  20. Obviously it was a different guy than the one who said 'Hey let's kill that thing and put it on a bun with cheese and ketchup...'
