Tonight I did get a ticket for expired license. The skin graft on the face (skin cancer removed last month) was no excuse for not getting my license renewed before my birthday last month. Tail light out led to the ticket. I just left GSU downtown ATL so I'm really glad to make it to Hiram instead of being pulled over on I20 or on Pryor Street downtown. BTW, I recently figured out why it's called Pryor street (because everyone you see there has lots of priors!!!) So....has anyone heard how much the ticket might be in Paulding County for expired (not suspended) driver's license? The

I saw those B&W composition notebooks (without the wire) at Dollar Tree. -
Next to Jalapeno Joe's that old Chinese buffet was closed for remodeling (I thought permanently). Then yesterday I noticed it has reopened and there were a few folks inside. Has anyone given it a 2nd chance and is it any better??? After reading a thread months ago, I tried and LOVE Lyn's Garden in V.Rica. The Atlantic Buffet is good, too. (Lyn's is by far more cozy).

That is some wise advice to consider. Thank you Mrs. G. When I was 21 (decades ago) I nearly had one repossessed. The bank lady (Bank of America) was outside with the repo man at 1:00 am. The sound of big chains caused me to peek out the window. I pleaded and begged and wrote the bank lady a check for $200 right there and they left. (whew) I lived alone in a 2 BR apt. on Jimmy Carter Blvd (the cheapest), and that night was a pivotal moment for me. I've been super frugal with expenses since then, always concerned about the emergency fund, and my credit. You could say I grew up a lot in one

No, Dear. I discussed this thread with her beforehand, didn't mention her name, or address, or phone, or any hints like what type of van it was, said GREAT things about her. More importantly, CONCEALING that bit of information from somebody considering making a few hundred dollars from a car in their driveway would be the REAL wrong. Wouldn't it? I'd be pretty ticked off if you concealed a fact like that before I considered allowing my car to go. A lot of people need a few hundred dollars. I would do it in a heartbeat if I had a backup vehicle and if I could afford to get the thing home

Is there a reasonable locally owned rental car company that you would recommend? My friend was all set to go to a family reunion in NY with 2 generations of family that just arrived but last night their mini-van was repossessed in the middle of the night. My friend is in her 30's and has a great driving record, never drinks and never does illegal anything. She lives in Dallas. I suggested finding someone who would loan them their van (for a fee) and that person would be rewarded with cash (a car payment perhaps). I know a lot of people could really use some extra cash right now. Th

I love this one!!! I can picture it...

Oh, yea, that's true. Is the bill in his name (aka "Mudd") I had no family to help, either. It wasn't easy and took lots of prayer and long hours. We were 2 mortgage payments behind when he left because I "wouldn't party" [he made a whole new circle of weird friends while I was on bedrest] Also, the water company can give you a few days extension in most cases. Who's name is the bill in? Yours or his?

I have new, unsaid things to add here. 1. Congratulations. He is gone and the ugly fight thing was avoided. 2. He is obviously made of pure crap and needs the toilet paper. 3. The missing laundry detergent is a symbol that you will never wash his stinky clothes again. 4. Go to work Monday. The DFCS app is online. (compass something) 5. The Allatoona place near the water tower has NO FUNDS. sorry 6. I can put $20 on your water bill. Can a few others match my $20??? My hubby left me 7 years ago with our 3 children including a brand new baby. He pays no c

Hiram post office lets me ring the bell at 6 am to pick up the one-day-old baby chickens when I order them. We open the box there together and marvel at the little yellow beauties. (a favorite memory). BTW, I had 100% survival rate every time with over 300 birds. (Am on a break from chickens thanks to coyotes)

Yes! I've encountered their Shipzillas and Mailnazis! I got the feeling (3 years ago when I vowed to NEVER go there again) that those people do some REALLY naughty things. Pubby has an excellent point...how can any organization focus on quality when suffocated by that unreasonable law from Congress? I think I'll give them all more leeway now, knowing that.

Late night coffee and a vampire movie, "Near Dark". The windows are open and the night is crisp. I'm so happy about my little keychain flashlight....now I don't step on toads while walking around at night barefooted. Yippeee! That Dominos pizza is gonna be good in the morning while standing in the open door of the fridge eating it cold and saving both power and dishes.

Oh Gee, that's awful. Hey, I just had an idea... We could buy some good hand-held radios, package one (while power is on and volume is on HIGH) and address the package back to ourselves (um, with insurance I guess), then use the other one to yell things into it so the package "talks" while at the post office. LMBO We could be sitting in a nearby car yelling things like "let me out of this box!" or "I see you over there!" what else? hmmm...

Yes, they do and we love it. Our carrier (based in Hiram) gets a bonus for all the click-n-ship items she picks up. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, however, we are still packing well after the 1:00 carrier pickup. She is a dream, and so is her backup carrier, and so are the Hiram counter clerks. So sweet, yet so upset that they will have to operate to and from Dallas beginning in July. Unless....things change. And man, things do change.

With me it's the opposite. 4 out of 10 will be late or will be held back for more postage, but "oops it seems you DID pay enough postage, nevermind" after they send a postcard saying they have my package of perishables (instead of calling the number on the label). My partner brought 8 to Dallas last week and we have had to refund and/or replace 3 of them. 2 still haven't arrived at their destination after 9 days (priority mail, too). And rude? Wow...shipzilla is a mean one. Hiram, however, has been 100% right on. They are friendly and warm and deserve baked goods. They'll open the d

Beginning in July, the Hiram Post Office will only be open a few hours each day and ALL of its mail carriers will report to and bring their loots to the Dallas Post Office and its Head Postmonster. This happens July 19th (was to be June but has been postponed). I ship a lot of packages and this is tragic news. I would rather bring my 50+ boxes per week to Hiram before they close at noon or whenever than have them handled by Dallas Post Office. I could write a book about all the shocking ways they've messed up business for me and my mail carrier says EVERYBODY feels that way about Dallas

Hi all, My friend needs a pest control guy and I want to refer her to the guy who came out to my place 20 years ago and did a termite treatment. I'm pretty sure he was Paulding Pest Control or Paulding County Pest Control. Last time I used him (13 years ago) the number was tough to find and there was a larger company with the same name....but I found him in an old phone book. He was very disciplined and a strong believer...he said he had no TV in his house and never would. I sure liked him....Does anybody know him? He worked with his son last time I saw him. Thanks!

Hi all, The rumor on the street is that the 5 or so PC police cars racing down Old Sudie Road here was because of something heard on the police scanner...... What a way to leave somebody hanging... Does anybody know? Has anybody heard? There are 2 really bad houses of thugs/drugs and/or thieves so it'd be a great start to the new year to know something got cleaned up here tonight.

My little girl and I went there yesterday and WOW the chicken was so yummy...how is it so good? Is that peanut oil? It is really great and great value. Nice people and the owner is a great coach (when he can) for PCHS wrestling team.

How much are they paying the women? There's lots of women around here that need money, too!
